I have a multi-tennant Exchange environment and am working on a migration from Exchange 2007 to 2013. I am having trouble with ActiveSync for mailboxes on 2007, through my 2013 CAS. Here is what my environment looks like:

- Internet-facing Exchange 2007 CAS 2007cas1/10.1.1.2/204.228.1.2 (name/internal IP/external IP)
- Non-Internet-facing Exchange 2007 CAS 2007cas2/10.1.1.3 (name/internal IP)
- Internet-facing Exchange 2013 CAS/MBX 2013casmbx1/10.1.1.4/204.228.1.4 (name/internal IP/external IP)
- 2007 URL: webmail.hosteddomain.com
- 2013 URL: testmail.hosteddomain.com
- Certificate: Third-party CA wildcard cert

I have verified that OWA out OutlookAnywhere work. When I try to connect to my Exchange 2007 mailbox (and only 2007) through ActiveSync, my phone says "Can't connect to server" and I see the following entries in my IIS logs (2013casmbx1):

I verified that the AS virtual directories on our 2007 CAS server look like this:
- InternalURL: webmail.hosteddomain.com
- ExternalURL: $null
- BasicAuthEnabled: True
- WindowsAuthEnabled: False

Finally, I verified that my test user as inheritance enabled.

Since all the other mail clients work and ActiveSync works when I'm not trying to proxy through Exchange 2013, I'm not sure what else to check. Thoughts? Thanks.

Outlook 2013 and default 'Send From' account

Hi,

I have an Outlook 2013 client connected to an O365 shared mailbox and one 'normal' personal email account.   However, when I send messages, the personal account is always the sender (reply-to address), unless I manually select the shared mailbox as From address.

How can I set the shared mailbox account as default 'From address'? 

Mozilla Thunderbird automatically uses the account c urrently selected in the left folder view as 'From' address, can I config Outlook to do the same..?

Exchange 2013 Outlook client receive SMTP security warning

Hello,

we have Exchange 2013 enviroment with 3rd party certificate installed. This certificate is assigned to all services:IMAP, POP, IIS, SMTP on all Exchange servers. All virtual directories are configured to use external domain.com. Owa and autodiscovery works fine, but when i try to configure Outlook to use POP or IMAP i get "The target principal name is incorrect" security warning on outgoing mail. Exchange use self signed certificate instead of our 3rd party certificate for SMTP connection. Is there a way to force Exchange to use 3rd party certificate for Outlook SMTP connectivity?

Exchange 2010 server ask external contact for username and password

Hi all

I have a weird situation reported from one of my users. Everytime an external contact wants to send my user an email, he/she is asked to fill in username and password by my mailserver. I've never encountered this.

Can anyone please explain why this is happening? Why would my mailserver care about username and password for someone that is not even in my domain?

It is a weird POP3 connection behaviour for outlook connectivity

We have 2 x MBX in DAG and 2 x CAS servers in HA load balancing

POP3 enabled users when configured in outlook at certain times get password prompt and this sometimes continues upto 30 minutes , outlook connection is set to POP3 port 995 to use SSl and smtp port 587 to use TLS on same external url

at sametime ping and telnet request get connected but outlook does not

Error 0x80190194 when trying to download OAB fron Outlook 2013

Hi guys, i'm having a bit of trouble downloading my OAB changes to the outlook clients, when i do a send an receive on the OAB i get error 0x80190194, and it doesnt matter which client i use.

Exchange 2013 Topology

2 Mailbox DAG

2 CAS

Any idea on what i can try to resolve this, i tried a new OAB but that didnt work, unless i did it wrong :/

Windows 7/8 Outlook 2013/Exchange 2013 Saved Windows Credentials Causing Authentication Issues

We have an issue with Windows 7/8 clients and Outlook 2013 where user credentials are being saved in the credential manager (in control panel on the users workstations) and causing login prompts to the public folder mailboxes and shared mailboxes.  On my windows 8 workstation, I have a saved credential under "Generic Credentials" related to Outlook 2013 and I've never click the "save password" check box.  It will work fine until I have to change my network password and then the issues will start.  Once the issues with the login prompts start (putting in the login ID and password doesn't work), deleting the saved credential "MS.Outlook.15:{Login ID}" always fixes the problem.  Once I delete the saved credential, it always comes back after a few days.

My question is why are my credentials being saved when I never ask them to be saved? 

We're configured for NTLM Authentication inside and Basic over SSL externally.  I don't see any other issues with authentication until that entry in credential manager gets out of whack.

Outlook 2013 won't connect to Exchange 2013

Hello,

We are having problems getting Outlook 2013 to connect to Exchange 2013 internally.

We have already replaced the certificates and use a Certificate Authority to sign the certificates. Outlook can autodiscover fine but then throws an error saying: The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action.

I then get a screen with address: fdcbfb4f-2b54-4a3d-aa6e-4d411d5ad8d6@domain.com as the Exchange server.

Mailbox: =SMTP:Administrator@domain.com

The mailbox exists and OWA just works fine. Any tips are very welcome

OWA Problem from outside

Dear All . 

we have exchange server 2013 RTM currently single server and when trying to access out from out side we are getting ERR_CONNECTION_CLOSED and sometimes it is working and sometimes it is not .

also sometimes from IE Browser it is working and from Google Chrome it is not !!

is this something related to the Certificate ? 

where to start troubleshoot !!

update exchange to CU7 will solve the issue !

owa working internally and no problem 

also recently we have renews the SAN Certificate .

cannot start microsoft outlook. cannot open the outlook window. the set of folders cannot be opened. you must connect to microsoft exchange with the current profile before you can sync your folders with your outlook data file.

All I want to do is sync Outlook 2013 to my Outlook Web App. I created my profile in Outlook and completed all the steps and Outlook said it had all the information it needed and I was finished. But when I launched Outlook it tried to connect to my email and load my profile but it wouldn't connect and I got the following message.

"cannot start microsoft outlook. cannot open the outlook window. the set of folders cannot be opened. you must connect to microsoft exchange with the current profile before you can sync your folders with your outlook data file (.ost). "

How can I connect microsoft exchange with my current profile if I can't launch Outlook?

Autodiscover fails internally Exchange 2013 /2010

Hey All,

I have just deployed a couple of CAS/MB combo Exchange 2013 servers in a new site, co existing with Exchange 2010 SP3, and after I moved my mailbox to the 2013 server, autodiscover stopped working internally. TestRemoteConnectivity works fine, and it works for all the people still on Exchange 2010, but for my mailbox which I moved to the 2013 server, I get 401 unauthorized. In my testing, if I go to thehttps://autodiscover.domain.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml, I cannot login. But, if I go straight to the cas/MB server, it workshttps://exmb1.domain.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml. I have checked permissions on the IIS folders and all looks fine. 

Any ideas?

Need an automated workaround for SMTP address in user's profile doesn't change when primary email address is changed in Exchange Server 2013

Need an automated workaround for changing an SMTP address on mailbox in user's Outlook profile when primary email address is changed in Exchange Server 2013.  If the mailbox display name is "cosmetic" as the KB states, I should be able to change an attribute somewhere to reflect the new company domain name rather than recreate all of the mail profiles.  I have looked at user objects in ADSI Edit and didn't see a corresponding field/attribute. 

Does anyone know where that mailbox display name is stored?  I need to change this for a client rather than recreate hundreds of mailbox profiles.

This is the KB stating that it is cosmetic but cannot be changed.

Not all Outlook subfolders appear in Mail App

I am on my company's Exchange Server and many of my subfolders that are in Outlook (and are accessible via all of my other apps - Outlook, Outlook on Web, Android phone apps, etc.) are not visible/accessible on the Mail App. I have as Surface 2 Pro running Windows 8.1

Exchange 2010 OWA Cannot Login

Dear Anyone,

We are using Exchange 2010 server, recently there has a problem for OWA login and got the result message "Your mailbox appears to be unavailable. Try to access it again in 10 seconds. If you see this error again, contact your helpdesk"

Everytime we need to reboot frontend and backend exchange server.

Can anyone help us how to solve this problem?

hello,

Using outlook via proxy server to connect to exchange 2013

Get a HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found from the exchange server with the following header

X-CasErrorCode: MailboxGuidWithDomainNotFound

Getting this header regardless of the authentication method set in Outlook Anywhere.

OWA access for the same user works fine.

Any suggestions what this issue is related to ?

OWA delete links on image

Hi all,

i have to make emails for my company. That they open with OWA.

This emails have images and some links on this images with "shape=Rect" that each Rect have a link.

If i open the email with Outlook 2010, i can see the links over the image, and click on the link, but if i open this email with OWA, the email only show the image but any link.

Outlook 2013 (Exchange) - Setting up Automatic Reply Msg

I am away from desk every day at a specific time.  I can set up auto reply each day but haven't figured it out for several days at a time.  I need it to be in place from 9am to 12pm every day. When I tried to do it for several days EX:  Mon 6/15/2015 at 9am to 12pm 6/18/2015 it keeps the msg on from 9am, straight thru until the next day.  Is this possible without having to do it every day?
