Sometimes e-mails get stuck in Outgoing

Hello all,

I've been facing the problem with some users in remote offices

I have Exchange 2013 as a e-mail server  and Clients use Office 2010

Sometimes their e-mails get stuck in outgoing folder and until users close the Outlook nothing happens or sometimes they need to wait few minutes before they get to sent items I've also noticed that Outlook is disconnecting for the seconds and then connecting again.

As far as I can tell i have no problems with the connection between offices. What might it be?

Thank you in advance

We add a new Exchange 2013 server. Migrate a mailbox from Ex2010 to this new server. After that outlook won't connect until we change the Proxy settings for exchange in outlook. adding the URL and certificate msstd:*.domainame.com wil make it work.

What can i do to make it work out of the box?

Calendar - not getting meeting request responses from BBC "resources"

using Office 2010 - Windows 7

I am sending calendar invites to multiple users.  I do not want those invited to see an of the others, so I used the steps outlined here: "support.office.com/en-us/article/Add-Bcc-recipients-to-a-meeting-request-fcaff39e-7fcd-4a77-81e9-b609c57dadb1" - categorizing each person invited as a "resource"

While I am getting replies/responses from those internally within my company (on the same exhange server, if that matters), I am not receiving anything from anyone outside my company.  Further, when I open the meeting in my calendar and use the "tracking" button under the "meeting" tab, I see NONE for a response from anyone outside the company- even those who I know have responded.

Would be grateful if anyone has an idea of how I can correct this.  I am happy to use another method to BCC if needed.

New Outlook clients can't connect to exchanger 2010

I've spent a couple days searching for an answer but haven't had any luck.  I've tried several different users on different computer and I can't get Outlook to connect when adding a new user.  When adding the account it gets through establishing network connection and searching for user setting but won't log onto the mail server.  A prompt for username and password comes up but entering credentials doesn't help.  An error pops up after entering credentials, The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action.  The exchange server is fully patched with latest updates, outlook clients are as well.

Error: "Operation Failed" on sending Task Status Report in Outlook.

sers in the office where I work are having an issue with certain tasks in shared folders. Our users are using Outlook 2010 primarily.

We follow our files by updating a task that all the employees have access to (with full edit and delete permissions), and send status reports between each other to update on the status of files or of things to be done. However, lately, certain tasks have stopped operating for certain users.  In a specific shared folder, about 3-4 tasks will be broken and give error messages.

Here's what happens:

If I open the task, and do not edit anything, then I can send a status report as normal or save and close the task without issue. Providing I change absolutely nothing in the body of the task.

However, if I edit the task or add to it and then try to send a Status Report or Save and Close the task I get a generic "Operation Failed" error (no additional information in the error message is given.

To get around the issue employees receiving the error message are having to email their edits to other employees, who then edit the task for them and don't receive the error message.

I have tried to fix the issue with resetting profiles and by changing between cached mode - neither have worked.

I should also note that we are all connected over a domain server. And users who are receiving the error are from our satellite office.

However, I am not certain if the satellite office fact matters, as my personal user account does not work whether I'm connecting from a machine in the satellite office or our home branch.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Oracle Workflow Mailer dies with "unable to connect to mail store"

Our Oracle workflow mailer uses IMAP to connect to exchange. It was working fine on our exchange 2010 server but we have since migrated to 2013.  I have matched the IMAP settings from the 2010 server and am able to telnet to 143.  The Oracle WF Mailer runs for awhile then dies with the error "unable to connect to mail store".  On the exchange server in the IMAP logs I occasionally see: login, cxprdwf *****,"R=""A1 NO LOGIN failed."";Msg=Proxy:***EMAILSERVERNAME**:9933:SSL;ErrMsg=ProxyTimeout:PreAuthTimeout".

The Oracle wf mailer runs on Oracle Applications R12. Exchange is 2013 Build 995.29 (I think that's CU6?)

Thanks!

Outlook setup + repeating password prompt

I am working on a migrating our multi-tennant Exchange 2007 to 2013. I have a test mailbox on Exchange 2013 and have confirmed that I can log into it via OWA. When I try to setup a MAPI profile (Outlook 2013), I am running into an issue where Outlook never logs into the mailbox, so it never finishes setting up the profile.

I have a Hosts file that looks like this:

200.x.x.3 webmail.hosteddomain.com autodiscover.hosteddomain.com autodiscover.customer1.com

When I load Outlook, it says that the network connection was established, then goes on to "Searching for test@customer1.com settings" and prompts me for a password. I enter the password and click OK, but the credential prompt comes back over and over. If I click Cancel, I get the error "The action cannot be completed. The Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action."

So, I click OK on the error and Outlook shows me mailboxGUID@customer1.com in the Exchange server field and "=SMTP:test@customer1.com". It looks like Autodiscover is working, but authentication isn't. So I checked the Secruity tab under "More Settings" and verified that it is set to Negotiate authentication. I also looked under the connection tab and set it to Negotiate.

These changes didn't help and I'm not sure where else to look. Thoughts? Thanks.

Hi all

I'm using Outlook 2013 with 3 exchange email accounts and I would like to decide when Outlook is downloading new E-Mails by clicking on the "Send/Receive All Folders" button.

I achieve this by setting Outlook in Offline Mode.

Once I restart Outlook it will not stay in Offline Mode and I have to set that option after every restart.

How can I make this mode stick?

Thanks for any help.

Disabling Photos in Office 365 Outlook and OWA

$

Hello,

We recently moved to Office 365. Our users can access their mailbox from their Desktop by launching Outlook or via Outlook Web App.  I am currently assigned as one of the Exchange Admin, so this system is new to all of us. Our current dilemma is regarding the Photo Profile.  Our management decided to not have all users upload their own photos and instead, to have us administrators control over this feature.  Right now, some of our users have already uploaded their photos.  I would really appreciate it if someone can give me some ideas about controlling this photo feature which will control both (Outlook on their Desktop & OWA).  Currently, we are on Exchange Online and we control the AD (Dirsync).  Here are things that I want to  accomplish:

1. Remove the existing pictures that have been uploaded.

2. Disable the Photo Upload so that users can't upload their own photo.

3. a cmdlet or script or Exchange Online Admin ability to where only the Administrator can upload the approved photos.

We have about 4K users and about to migrate all of them soon.  Currently, we only have our Pilot Users, approx. 100 users.

Thank You in advance!

I have a new install of Exchange 2013 - single server environment, with a small business. I am failing the following PCI compliancy items. Does anyone have any information on how to fix these issues? Do I need to look at like a Forefront TMG product to pass?  Does Microsoft even make a Forefront TMG product anymore?

All sent emails stuck in either outbox for outlook, or drafts for owa on new Exchange 2013

Hi all,

I have started encountering this issue with "emails stuck in outbox", while setting up a new exchange 2013 server in my exchange 2007 enviornment. I have moved a couple of test accounts to Exchange 2013.

When clients try to send emails they get stuck in the outbox with no errors either in, outlook, the client computer, or on the exchange server.

It happens for all clients that are inside the network, or using OWA the emails get stuck in drafts. The same users connecting from out on the intenet via rpc over http are ok. i.e, if I run outlook 2010 from a 2012 Terminal server inside the network I get the issue. If I start outlook 2013 and use rpc over https it seems ok.

Our domain uses company.local internally, but I have changed all URL's to use the external uri of "company.com" and have a public cert on all these services that match.

the clients that have the isuse do not open any other email accounts, and I have tried specifying DNS servers in the DNS settings for the new 2013 server.

As there are no error messages I have no idea how to start fault finding this.

Any ideas anyone?

NO Server Unavailable. 15 on Exchange 2013

Hello,

After a SELECT "INBOX" I'm getting NO Server Unavailable. 15

SELECT "INBOX"
NO Server Unavailable. 15

Any ideas?

I've tried all sorts of adjustments to IMAP to no avail.  This used to work on our Exchange 2010 server but since migrating to 2013 we are having issues.

Thanks

Bradley

Thunderbird gives "server unavailable. 15."

I have a fully patched Exchange 2013 server and the latest Thunderbird IMAP-client.

When the user tries to open some subfolders under inbox he gets an error "The current operation on 'subfolder' did not succeed. The mail server for account user@Exchange responed: Server Unavailbale. 15."

Some subfolders work though and subfolders under the subfolder that cant be opened works.

I found this post but no answer to what the user changed to make it work:

https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/2508f50f-6b28-4961-8e6c-5425914d4caa/no-server-unavailable-15-on-exchange-2013?forum=exchangesvrclients

The folder is visible and readable from other clients like Outlook and webmail.

Exchange 2013 CU8 CrossSiteRedirectType not supported?

Hi,

I have a two site Exchange 2013 CU8 setup. I am trying to setup silent redirection for OWA.

I just get "A parameter cannot be found that matches parameter name 'CrossSiteRedirectType'." error when trying to set it up via Set-OWAVirtualDirectory.

Is this feature currently unimplemented in Exchange 2013?

Thank you

Outlook 2013 OST size

Our query is basically to understand how Outlook 2013 works. So lets assume a scenario as below.

  • We connect to Exchange Online Mailbox with the Outlook 2013 Slider set to cache One years mails.
  • At the end of first year of using outlook 2013, the OST file size has grown to 3.5GB

Our Queries

  1. Assuming the mail transaction in the second year, by size and number, is just half the amount as compared to first year, will my .ost file size shrink automatically below 3.5GB at the end of 2nd year?
  2. If the answer to the above query is YES, then is there any Microsoft document stating so?

EX 2010 Publishing Calendar Fails: We're having trouble processing your request right now.

I have configured calendar sharing, created a sharing policy, applied a user to that policy, connected as them in OWA, right-clicked on Calendar, chose Share and was presented with a screen to choose options for publishing the calendar. Once I click "Start Publishing" it pauses for a moment and presents the following error:

"Sorry! We're having trouble processing your request right now. Please try again in a few minutes."

A corresponding error in the event log is triggered:

Current user: 'HostedExchange.local/Organizational Units/{domain.name}/Test User'
Request for URL 'https://exchange.domain.name/ecp/Customize/MailboxCalendarFolders.svc/StartPublishing?msExchEcpCanary=wxdai2GrC0q6DJayoatadiv8tHYld9II37xXEAZO4KfdJSvNjNpY4sCUF2FJ3sMBBTbFlgQmgYc.' failed with the following error:

I have also verified proper permissions on the virtual directories following this template: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg247612.aspx

Thoughts?
