Free/Busy info not showing

$

2 Exchange 2013 servers same forest. Outlook 2010 and 2013. Users on the same server can see each others free/busy. If a user on server 1 looks up free/busy info for any user or resource mailbox that is on server 2 they cannot see free/busy and vice versa.

Test Email Autoconfig does not show any errors. Outlook Anywhere *seems* to be working just fine. There are still EX2010 servers in the environment, too, but there are no mailboxes on them anymore as we're migrating to 2013.

Recover deleted items in OWA throws 404 error

Has any body experienced in exchange 2013 sp1 where a user goes to OWA and right clicks on deleted items and gets a 404 page cant be found error message. This previously was working within that last few weeks. besides windows updates and exchange security update KB3040856 I have not made any other configuration changes other then updating one of the exchange certificates. I initially had an issue with the certificate but found that I hadn't updated the backend cert in iis so once I did that the other issues I had went away. I have 4 servers, I have tried different users on different database's and have connected to each of my 4 exchange servers and still experience the 404 page. I have opened a case with MS but thought I would see if anyone else has seen this.

slow online mode "browsing"

Hi there,

Currently my configuration is exchange 2013 CU3 with windows 2012 server (fully patched and up to date)

my issue is with internal network slow outlook clients working with online mode (long delays when going from one message to another)

OWA mail browse is very fast though with no delays what so ever (IE8/9/10/11/Chrome)

I know that Microsoft recommend working with cache mode, but sometimes cache mode is not applicable like Terminal servers environment.

is there any way to improve online mode speeds? (exchange 2010/7 has not delays with outlook internal clients)

any ideas??

Thanks Ahead

Send on Behalf - from outside domain.

Hey guys,

We have a Exchange 2013 server with both mailbox and client role installed.

This is receiving mail from different domains, works like a charm.

Now our client would like to be able to send on behalf from a domain we do not host, and does not point to our server. Is this even possible?

With kind regards, René de Meijer. MIEGroup.

Outlook Rule - When SENDINGas another Address

$

I'm trying to find a way to create a rule that triggers when a user SENDS a message from another address. Here's what we need to accomplish:

Two users are members of a distribution group.  Both have rights to Send As that distribution group.  When User A does a "send as" with that from address, we need a copy to go to User B, and vice versa.

So, message comes in to GroupName@xyz.com.  Message is delivered toUserA@xyz.com and UserB@xyz.com   UserA replies, setting the "From" address asGroupName@xyz.com.  We need to make sure a copy of that email gets delivered to UserB as well.

It's a distribution group, so the "send through a specified account" doesn't apply. I thought of assigning mail that comes IN to that group to a category, and then checking for the category on the Send side, but it doesn't appear that category assignment is preserved on the sent message.

Any ideas?

Outlook strange cert error

Dear All,

I am currently using godaddy public cert for client outlook connection. However, our internal user still got the cert error prompt. And it seems because it detect the cert name from exchange 2013 backend cert which is different with the public cert name I am using. I try to change the outlook anywhere internal client authentication to basic. Should I do this? Thanks

Please help...

Unread items in folders are not shown

I recently upgraded to Office 2013 and use Outlook as my primary mail client for work.  In Outlook 2010 when a folder had new/unread mail in it the folder would bold and show the number of unread items in the folder.  I have not successfully gotten this to work on Outlook 2013.  I have selected the properties of the folder and tried to have it show the total number of items in the folder as well as only the unread ones.  Neither of these numbers show up next to the folder.  This is causing some significant frustration because hours are going by without me realizing that I have unread email.  How do I make outlook show the unread items count for each folder?

Please help!

Thanks!

MS Exhange Transport Error

$

Microsoft Exchange could not find a certificate that contains the domain name exchcasserver-2.domain.local in the personal store on the local computer. Therefore, it is unable to support the STARTTLS SMTP verb for the connector Default EXCHCASSERVER-2 with a FQDN parameter of exchcasserver-2.domain.local. If the connector's FQDN is not specified, the computer's FQDN is used. Verify the connector configuration and the installed certificates to make sure that there is a certificate with a domain name for that FQDN. If this certificate exists, run Enable-ExchangeCertificate -Services SMTP to make sure that the Microsoft Exchange Transport service has access to the certificate key.

Outlook certificate warning for Exchange servers FQDN

$

We are in the process of migrating from Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2013 and have the following setup:

- 1 Ex2010 server:
  sola-exchange.addomain.local
- 3 Ex2013 servers set up in a DAG:
  sola-ex13-1.addomain.local, sola-ex13-2.addomain.local, sola-ex13-3.addomain.local
- Split DNS with all Virtual Directorys set with the same internal and external hostnames in URL:
  webmail.domain.com, oa.domain.com, eas.domain.com, autodiscover.domain.com.
- DNS round-robin for the above domain names pointing to each of the 2013 server IPs
- Wildcard certificate *.domain.com
- NTLM authentication for Outlook Anywhere, the CertPrincipleName has been set to msstd:*.domain.com

The problem:
Everything seems to work as it should, but users are presented with a certificate warning 20 or so seconds after opening Outlook.
Example: When I open Outlook I get a warning that the certificate name does not correspond with the name of the server. It tries to connect to "sola-ex13-3.addomain.local" and the certificate is the wildcard *.domain.com.
An other user might get the same warning but for an other server FQDN, sola-ex13-2.addomain.local.

This does not happen when connecting externally. Published with a TMG server.

Why does Outlook try to connect to a servers FQDN when al the virtual directory URLs are set?

Outlook Prompts for user name and password

I have an issue at my one client, want to troubleshoot this if anyone can advise something.

Whenever there is any disconnection either at HeadOffice(Region1, Pakistan) end or MiddleEast(Region2, MiddleEast) end, users at other site (COMPANYINT.COM) faces outlook prompts, because outlook tries to contact WEBMAIL.COMPANY.COM.PK server which is hosted in Pakistan (COMPANY.COM.PK).

There are AD Domains, Forest Root (COMPANY.INT), Child1 (PK.COMPANY.INT), Child2 (ME.COMPANY.INT). Two Exchange Domains COMPANY.COM.PK and COMPANYINT.COM.

There are multiple sites and domain Controllers, every domain controller is Global Catalog server.

Exchange 2013 SP1 + ARR 3.0

Hi, I need help with ARR setup. I've followed http://blogs.technet.com/b/exchange/archive/2013/07/19/reverse-proxy-for-exchange-server-2013-using-iis-arr-part-1.aspx to configure ARR (Option 1). My setup:

Windows Server 2012 R2 + Exchange 2013 SP1 CAS+MBX (ex1)

Windows Server 2012 R2 + Exchange 2013 SP1 CAS+MBX (ex2)

Windows Server 2012 R2 + ARR 3.0 (arr)

I can't Authenticate to OWA - I'm able to see starting page of OWA, but after entering username and password I get an errorX-FEServer: EX1, URL look like owa/auth/errorFE.aspx?httpCode=500. When I entering to ECP I get an "Server Error in '/ecp' Application.". Everything works fine when I am logging in directly to OWA onExchange servers (https://ex1.intdomain.com/owa).In ARR logs no errors.

I am out of ideas what can be wrong. Please help me!

Outlook 2013 doesn't list attachment as sent in a reply email thread

$
0
0

After I respond to an email with an attachment (or a recipient responds to my email that had an attachment, the following email or) my response email no longer contains a line showing the attachment.  The email thread does not contain the original attachment, so no future recipient of further correspondence, including the original sender, can access the attachment itself from the document unless they go find the original sent or received message.  AND the email thread no longer shows that item as having been sent (as an attachment with the file name and file path identifier listed), so the future recipient or viewer of the email thread (which may include the sender) can't even tell an attachment was sent/received along with the email message.

In previous versions of Outlook, Sender X could send 'email 1' with 'attachment A' to Recipient Y, and when Recipient Y responded with 'email 2', Sender X could open 'email 2' and see the document, 'attachment A' (listed beneath the subject title) on 'email 1' in the email thread.  This information would show up if the email thread was forwarded to another recipient or if the thread was printed.  Now neither Sender X nor Recipient Y can open and view 'attachment A' while looking at 'email 1' in an email thread, once 'email 2' (or 3 or 4 or 5, etc.) has been generated; NOR will either party even know that Sender X sent 'attachment A' in 'email 1', because it is not listed there for 'email 1' in the thread showing 'email 1' and 'email 2'.

This is a problem.  I want Outlook to show which attachments were sent with which dated emails like it did before.  How can I fix this?

The Account Settings says Microsoft Exchange.  And I checked with my anti-virus software and it already had the email scanning feature disabled.

Outlook Calendar-- I want to show/view 'busy' only (and not 'free') on calendar permissions for shared calendars

$

I am looking to see if anyone has identified a macro or a workaround for Outlook 2013 on a Windows 7 PC where I can set my Calendar Permissions to share only my scheduled appointments marked as "busy" (or "tentative" or "working elsewhere") but not show the one's marked as "free".  I'd also like to know if there is an easy way to view other people's shared calendars without their "free" category.

The reason is...

I have several reminders which are scheduled as "free" appointments (like people's birthdays or when to turn in time sheets) and I do not want them showing up for viewers that I have granted permissions to see my busy/free, subject, and location.  I don't want them showing up for default "busy/free" viewers either.  I know I could set them to private, but if you do that, they show up as a scheduled blocks of time and say 'private appointment'.  They are not a scheduled block of time or an appointment, as I am not "busy" during these reminder times, so I do not want them showing up like that.   Is there a way to just hide the things I have set as "free" so that I don't have to set them as private?  I would like to make it easier for my boss viewing my calendar, which is a lot easier if they only view times I am busy and not the times I am "free."  (Since Outlook does not actually show all the time that someone has a free [for example, it does not show 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. as free, when you have nothing on your calendar for that time, but will show 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. as "free" when you have a reminder scheduled for that time and set it as 'free'], it is distracting to show the "free" schedule blocks in a shared calendar.  People's calendars have tons of these "free reminders" and it is distracting when you are looking at their little iconed calendar, trying to find out when everyone is unavailable for the meeting you would like to schedule.  You really only need to view times when people are "busy" or "out of office" or have a "tentative" meetings scheduled.  I would prefer that only the times I am actually busy show up for people trying to view my calendar for scheduling purposes, not the appointments I have scheduled as "free").

With that in mind, I would also like to view other people's calendars without their "free" appointments.  If there is a workaround for granting permissions on my end, that doesn't mean I can get everyone in my office to apply it to their calendar.  So I will need a way to view it the way I want to, even if they still just have theirs set to "busy/free".  Is there a filter for that?
