Hardware Load balancer for two CAS servers in exchange 2010.

I am not an exchange expert, I work on Brocade load balancer. I set up LB for two exchange CAS servers. OWA is working fine getting proper load balance.

I am facing issue in RPC services. When i enter exchange.millat.com.pk(LB Virtual IP) during configuring OUTLOOK account in windows. exchange.millat.com.pk is automatically converted to one of the original CAS server mail.millat.com.pk of MTL-EX3.millat.com.pk.

I asked exchange engineer to set static port for Client server communication and for address book. Still i see one other tcp port in netstat -an -p tcp which changes in time to time. Could it be the public folder port?

Please can you experts guide me what could be the problem, why LB VIP is replaced by original CAS server FQDN when i hit check name during configuring outlook?

Microsoft Outlook not receiving Accepted meeting requests

Hi,

I am having an issue with not receiving meeting responses back from attendees. To test, I sent 3 meeting requests out. One to my Yahoo mail, one to my gmail, and the other to a year up email that runs on exchange server like me. I only received the response back from the year up email. So I concluded that it only accepts for exchange. So, I changed a setting in our server to allow external meeting responses and requests and still nothing. What is going on?

How to distinguish if an email was sent by schedule (Delay Delivery) or not (real time email)?

Hi,

Does anyone know how to find out if a received email in MS outlook inbox is a delay delivered email or instant one? Thanks.

Outlook Calender and Tasks Scheduling forecast Improvement

Often times task assigned don't end in one hour or a few hours or few days.  It would be nice to have a feature whereby I can select "To be completed in" 10 "weeks" or "days" or "hours".  So I can custom enter my number, but also custom choose how long the task will be:  weeks or days or months.  Something of the likes of a "Scheduling wheel cart" given out by our Vendors for advertising.  This neat feature if incorporated will give the user an instantaneous outlook of the forcast for specific tasks and can plan other items or make important schedule planning decisions.

Does Exchange archived emails keep their categories? (email categories disappearing when archived in exchange)

Wondering if Exchange archived emails can keep their categories?  We have some customers in our company that use Microsoft Exchange Archive and they tell us they don't see the category of the e-mail after it is archived.  Are these settings we can help them with?

Hide Service Accounts in Outlook Calendar

Hello, we're using the "manager" attribute in AD to associate service accounts with their owner.  In Outlook under Calendar this places those service accounts under the "Team: <MANAGER>" group.  So in addition to actual team members under a manager, service accounts are also listed.  Is there a way to hide those accounts so they aren't listed?

Thank you

OWA/ECP signout not working in Ex2013 SP1

Hi All,

there are numerous posts about the signoff functionality not working when Ex2013 CAS is set to *not* use FBA - but no resolution.

Does anyone know of a fix for this?

Note: there are a few posts suggesting this to be a cached credential issue. It is not. This is neither expected, nor desired behavior. Ex2010 does not exhibit this, and neither should Ex2013.

Thx in advance!

Outlook applying internal settings for external clients from Autodiscover

$

Hi All,

for some reason external Outlook clients are configuring themselves with the internal settings from the Autodiscover XML. Specifically, the proxy authentication is being set to NTLM, which causes a password prompt loop.

As far as I can tell, the Autodiscover info is correct:

<Type>EXCH</Type><Server>guid@upn</Server>
 ...</Protocol><Protocol><Type>EXPR</Type><Server>external URL</Server>
 ...<AuthPackage>Basic</AuthPackage>
 ...</Protocol>
 ...<Protocol><Type>EXHTTP</Type><Server>internalURL</Server>
 ...<AuthPackage>Ntlm</AuthPackage></Protocol><Protocol><Type>EXHTTP</Type><Server>externalURL</Server>
 ...<AuthPackage>Basic</AuthPackage></Protocol>

If I manually change the proxy settings on an external client to Basic everything connects, but on the next Autodiscover it gets reset to NTLM.

Anyone seen this before?
Thx in advance - M.

Client Connectivity in E2010 & E2013 Coexistence Environment

Hi

I have what I can only describe as a strange issue.

Over the last weekend I switched our E2010 CAS role over to E2013 CAS role in readiness to migrate over to E2013. The users mailboxes remained on E2010 server.

We have a split DNS, With outlook Anywhere enabled internally with a separate DNS entry/ address for the CaseArray role from the Outlook Anywhere role.

E2013 is running the latest patched version, E2010 on rollup 7.

While all the testing and connection at the time worked with the test pool of users, and the email enable application worked, I started to user calls with various connection issues.

These were as follows.

  1.      When logging on to their mailbox via WebApp, they received the message :

 something went wrong

Sorry, we can't get that information right now. Please try again later. If the problem continues, contact your helpdesk.

X-ClientId: KBPU - 9ERN - EWGB - ILGLMXKG

X-FEServer: EXCMGGBMC002

But they were able to connect using outlook.

  1.      Outlook prompting constantly for user authentication, at first I thought this was only the users that were still on outlook 2010,but it also effect users on outlook 2013 to. Both versions of outlook are fully patched and up to date.

The strange thing about both were that one was not related to the other and whatever mailbox / client combination I tried to test on several clients I could not replicate the issue.

With the outlook version it got even stranger. While testing on my account my outlook correctly connected to my mailbox using RCP/TCP protocol. But the users that were having issues the connection status was still trying on RPC/HTTP.  To add to the strange situation, if I replaced there users details on the login prompt with a service account that has access to their mailbox, outlook connected to their mailbox. They were able to work, and access any shared mailboxes they have and work as normal.

But Outlook was connecting via rpc/http and not TCP.

Which reading all documentation should not be possible when Outlook Anywhere is pointing to E2013 with a mailbox on E2010.

This has had me stumped, so any help would be extremely grateful from you guys & girls.

Outlook Shared Contacts Sync Issue

$

I have a user who adds emails to the "Notes" section of a shared contact.  It has worked in the past.  She now drags and drops the email into the notes folder, it shows that the email was added, she saves the contact, closes the contact, then reopens the contact and the information/email that was added is no longer there.

Also, when she opens up the contact, on the top of the window it says "This item was not completely updated during the last server synchronization"

On the bottom of the contact's window it says "Last modified by lisa@ourcompany.com on 11/19/2014"  So it doesn't seem to have updated for about 5 months.

The user is on Outlook 2010 - Cached Mode - Windows 7

We use Exchange 2013

We have checked her sync issues folder and see two messages pertaining to this shared contact.

Can not save new contact in OWA 2013 - Exchange CU7 Update.

Problem:

After updating to Exchange 2013 CU7 I receive an error message stating:  "The contact can't be saved right now. Please try again later.

Product Affected:

Microsoft Exchange Server 2013 Cumalitive Update 7 with Outlook Web App 2013.

Steps to reproduce the problem:

  1. Open OWA
  2. Go to People tab
  3. Add a new contact without adding an email address.

Notes:

  • The contact does actually appear to be added, but in some cases is unable to be searched for using search bar.  The error message: "An error occurred while searching. Please try again later." appears in the search result pane.
  • If an email address is entered the contact is saved without warning
  • I have tested on two separate servers in separate domains.
  • It does not appear to happen on previous versions of Exchange 2013.

Has anyone else experienced this issue or found a fix?

500 Unexpected Error when accessing Voice Mail rules

I have an Exchange 2013 environment with Lync2013 and UM.

Having an issue when users (including Exchange admin) try to access shared mailbox OWA (having the appropriate permissions to do so) to setup Voice Mail rules, they get"500 Unexpected Error. An error occurred and your request couldn't be completed. Please try again"

It works fine if they access their own Voice mail rules. Everything else in OWA works fine.

MyVoiceMail option (in the Default Role Assignment Policy) is checked. Executing Get-UMCallAnsweringRule shell command outputs fine without any errors.  Have also tried creating another Role Assignment policy and assigning to the mailboxes but still does not work.

Any suggestions?

thanks in advance.

Outlook does not connect to Exchange 2013 after name change due to marriage

$

0

When launching Outlook and clicking through the setup wizard to create a new profile, Outlook auto-discovers the correct email alias. When establishing a connection it successfully checks network connectivity and successfully searches the email settings. When it attempts to logon to the mail server the error comes up.

"The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action."

Clicking "Check Name" gives the error:

"The name cannot be resolved. The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action."

The same result occurs with a manual setup.

We are running Exchange Server 2013. User workstations are running Outlook 2013 on Windows 7 Pro. All updates have been applied as of March 31, 2015.

All name changes have been made in AD and Exchange. Old aliases and new aliases are set in Exchange. Offline Address books are updated daily. The local profile and registry settings have been updated on the workstation and the user is successfully logging into the profile. The issue is only with Outlook 2013. User can access mail through OWA and ActiveSync on their mobile device.

Logging the user into another workstation and running the wizard returns the same results, which rules out the possible problem being with the workstation.

Outlook - Emails Coming in blank except for time and date

I have been receiving e-mails that are coming in blank except for the date and time.  they are blank in the preview and full read mode.  these have been replies to my e-mails as well as original e-mails.  I have checked my security and verified that these are not spam and are not going in to my junk folder.  I have added the senders to safe senders and this continues.  When the same message also includes someone else in my company, they receive the full message while mine arrives blank.  No rejection message is sent to the sender.

I posted this in the Microsoft Community and the replies are below.

Error migrating user from on-premises Exchange to Exchange online

We have a hybrid configuration with our on-premises Exchange 2010 server and our Office 365 Exchange Online server (if this should be posted in the Exchange 2010 forum instead, let me know, but I figured we have one of each).  We have been doing remote moves, and all but two of them are finished. The two remaining are refusing to go, and I've done extensive searching but haven't been able to resolve the issues.

The first mailbox returns this error message:

Error:MissingExchangeGuidException: The user object for ‎nnndoes not have a valid ExchangeGuid property and cannot be migrated.

The second mailbox returns this error message:

Error:MigrationTransientException: Couldn‎'t find a move request that corresponds to the specified identity <‎identity>.

We've tried moving both mailboxes several times (deleting the migration batch after each error) with no luck.   The migration for both of these users are being done as separate batches with one user in each batch.  They are being created via the Exchange Admin Center from the Office 365 admin portal.  Any suggestions on what to do next?

outlook 2013 not sending mail, safe mode not sending or receiving

Running on Windows 7 home premium, I've been using office 2013 professional for about two months, with three mail accounts, all using POP3.

A couple of weeks ago outlook started having trouble sending mail - all messages are stuck in the outbox for long periods of time - whenever I restart outlook or send/receive It seems to be sending some messages but stops at "SENDING MESSAGE XX OF YY" and stays there forever - no error messages.

Three or four times some of the messages did get sent - either after much fiddling or at a random time.

All is checked and fine with my internet provider and email servers

When checking the settings in outlook (different settings for three different mail boxes from two different sources) the test works fine - a test email is sent and received.

I found a hidden read receipt message also stuck, removing it didn't change anything.

Outgoing mail scanning by the antivirus program (AVG) is disabled. I ran full virus scans from two different programs (AVG, HOUSE-CALL).

I re-installed office. Trying to uninstall Office before re-installing didn't work because I "do not have sufficient permission to update win.ini" (although running as administrator). So I re-installed without uninstalling - with no effect at all.

Using outlook in SAFE MODE at first worked - messages got sent. I therefore disabled all add-ins, but that didn't solve the problem for the regular outlook.

And now, for no apparent reason, outlook/safe has stopped sending or receiving mail - pressing send/receive causes no reaction at all. SHOW PROGRESS shows no tasks - neither send nor receive.

I'm out of solutions, can anyone help?

THANKS, Eli
