Hello guys,

I have mailboxes which located on Exchange 2010 server's Database and few of them are created on Exchange 2013.

When I open OWA using external URL and login on a mailbox that located on Exchange 2010 I have no problems, but if I login using the one which I have on Exchange 2013 I receive such error:

A server configuration change is temporarily preventing access to your account. Please close all Web browser windows and try again in a few minutes. If the problem continues, contact your helpdesk.

Could anyone help me to resolve the issue, please

Thank you in advance!

Calendar Reminders for events that don't appear in Calendar

$

Hi,

We have a user who created a number of calendar appointments for a shared Calendar.  He receives reminders for these, but the appointments don't appear in the shared calender (or his calendar) and no other members of his team who have access to the calendar receive the reminders.  When the reminder pops up, he can view the appointment and it appears normal - it just doesn't show in the calendar.

The appointments are very important and we need to somehow restore the corresponding calendar entries so that they're viewable to him and his team, and reminders are recieved by everyone.

I'm aware of the /cleanreminders switch but can't find anything to allay my fears that these reminders won't be seen as "rogue" and deleted leaving us with no record of the reminders.

I've used the scanpst tool against the ost files he uses, although I've been advised the scan may need to be run several times so waiting to schedule this in with the user.

Worst case scenario is that the reminders are accidently deleted and there is no record of these at all, at least at the moment, one person receives these so they're not running completely blind.

Anyone else had this or have any ideas?

Thanks,

Paul

http 400 - bad request

The setup is as follows

Windows Server 2012 R2 running Exchange 2013 CU5 - CAS Role
Windows Server 2012 R2 Running Exchange 2013 CU5 - Mailbox Role
Published via Web Application Proxy, using ADFS on Server 2012 R2

The problem

Browse to https://webmail.contoso.com/owa - log into OWA as myself this works fine - try and open another users mailbox that i have full access to, i get HTTP 400 bad request

If i browse to https://servername and perform the same procedure it works.   This leave me to the conclusion that the Web Application Proxy server / ADFS server is at fault

this KB article is not relevant in this instance, as I can resolve the names correctly;http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2770796/en-au

Any suggestions

Thank you.

We have actual a brandnew Exchange 2013 Environment and the client OS is Windows 7, and i did already the following things

  • install all Updates (WSUS)
  • disable Hardware graphics.......
  • run Microsoft Office Configuration Analyzer Tool and disabled Bluetooth Add-in

maybe someone can help me and sorry for my bad English i´m not an English native Speaker :)

Calandar not synching

Greetings,

Problem with calendaring:

(1)    My secretary makes an appointment (recurring or otherwise) on my calendar for myself and a group of others;
(2)    I and the others will see that appointment;
(3)    due to changes in schedules she then moves the appointment to another Day / Date;
(4)    my calendar is not updated but the other recipients are.

OR

Line items 1 -3 above are executed and with respect to #4, only my calendar will update and not the other recipients.

This is not consistent behavior.

Any idea as to what's going on here? It was suggested that I delete her .OST file and let it rebuild.

MS Exchange, approximately 75,000 employees.

Thank you,

OWA and cross forest co-existent

Hey,

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't so that OWA should work on both ways when you have e.g. E2007 in old forest and E2013 on new forest?

I have ForestA with E2007 and ForestB with E2013. Some users are migrated from E2007 to E2013 and mail flows and availability services are working just fine. Also when user is moved they profiles are updated automatically.

But now the OWA added some grey hairs to me:
Case1:
when open OWA using the owa.ForestA.com E2007 users are working, E2013 users gets error:
Outlook Web Access could not find a mailbox for ForestB\User01. If the problem continues, contact technical support for your organization and tell them the following: The mailbox may be stored on a Microsoft Exchange 2000 or Microsoft Exchange 2003 server, or the Active Directory user account was created recently and has not yet replicated to the Active Directory site where this Client Access server is hosted.

Case 2:
When OWA is opened using the owa.ForestB.com E2013 users are working, but E2007 users get an error:
X-OWA-Error: Microsoft.Exchange.Clients.Owa2.Server.Core.OwaUserHasNoMailboxAndNoLicenseAssignedException

E2013 users have Mail User object in ForestA and E2007 users have Mail User object on ForestB. Also both Mail User objects have the ExternalAddress attribute populated.

I have a feeling that this is based on the Autodiscover config, but I have not figure out which part of that..

Bug with "Have server reply with a specific Message" rules

There appears to be NO easy way to submit a bug report to Microsoft about exchange. I'm hoping this post will do the job.

Here's the basics of the bug and it's fairly easy to recreate, this bug introduced itself when we upgraded from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013

If a rule is set up with both actions "Have the server reply with a specific message" AND "move to a specific folder" it will only move the message to the folder and not reply at all.

Steps to recreate.

1.  Create a rule with "Have the server reply with a specific message"

2. Test and confirm that the reply is sent

3. Add the "Move to a specific folder" action to the same rule.

4. Test and notice that the email is moved but the reply is not sent.

OWA gives HTTP 500 error for several users

$

Exchange 2013 SP1. Since last week we have the issue that some users are getting an HTTP 500 Internal Server error when they access OWA from the internet after logging on. For other users it works fine. When the users who are having problems access OWA from internally they can logon fine. OWA authentication is set to Windows Integrated.

For external access OWA is published using TMG. No errors are reported in the eventlog of TMG or the Exchange server. Any idea what might cause this? Is there a way to get some more detailed information about the HTTP error 500?

I've checked the issue with inheritance on the AD user object, but the userobjects have inheritance enabled. Also, since it's Exchange 2013 it doesn't have the Form based authentication service which also might cause this error.

Any idea?

Frank.

Outlook - Emails Coming in blank except for time and date

I have been receiving e-mails that are coming in blank except for the date and time.  they are blank in the preview and full read mode.  these have been replies to my e-mails as well as original e-mails.  I have checked my security and verified that these are not spam and are not going in to my junk folder.  I have added the senders to safe senders and this continues.  When the same message also includes someone else in my company, they receive the full message while mine arrives blank.  No rejection message is sent to the sender.

I posted this in the Microsoft Community and the replies are below.

Searching old emails

Hi,

I am having trouble searching for old emails via Outlook.  If I sort my Sent Items, and then click the link at the bottom to get more from Exchange, I see them all.  However, using the Outlook search tools doesn't find them - even if I do an advanced search and use the date field to specify dates.

Is there a way to do this from Outlook?

Thanks!

MAPI over HTTP not working correctly, Outlook 2013 clients prompting for credentials during profile creation or opening depending on security of virtual directory

ENVIRONMENT

-1 Exchange 2013 SP1 CU7 server with all roles that is also a hybrid server with Office 365 tenant, mailboxes are all on premise only LYNC online is being utilized right now.

-Exchange 2013 public folders

-Mix of Outlook 2013 SP1 and Outlook 2010 SP3 clients all fully update to day as of Feb 2015

Outlook anywhere is working perfectly across all clients both internally and externally using autodiscover.  Both Outlook 2013 and 2010 clients can open the program and create a profile automatically via autodiscover and no additional logon prompts are seen.

We set the internal and external mapi virtual directory URLs to a valid URL that also matches the Exchange 2013 SSL certificate.  We set the security to ntlm, negotiate on the mapi virtual directory.  We reset IIS and enabled mapi over http in the org config.  We run in to problems here.

Outlook 2010 clients appear to be working fine.  We can create a new profile and open and close Outlook without any logon prompts and verify that MAPIHTTP and Negotiate are used to connect to Exchange.

Outlook 2013 clients are having problems.  As soon as we try to create a profile it says your administrator has made a change that requires you to restart outlook and then a windows logon prompt appears. If we authenticate Outlook will open and connect.  This logon prompt should not occur.    We can confirm that it is connecting via MAPI HTTP and Negotiate.

If we set the mapi virtual directory to NTLM only then a logon prompt also appears during every open of Outlook 2013.  We can confirm that it is trying to connect with MAPIHTTP via NTLM in the outlook connection test screen.

I do not understand this behavior by Outlook 2013 which was supposed to be designed with MAPI HTTP in mind.  I would think the same issues would occur with Outlook 2010 but they do not.  I am not sure how to resolve this and I am looking for help.

Office delegation permissions

Hi all,

Enviroment: Office 365 Enterprise E3 with Azure AD on cloud

Problem: I'm setting up a delegated connection to email account, and I face some permission problems on which i would like to know if it is solvable at all.

Let’s say that I have a manager with email account and his secretary which have delegation to his email account with full control. The problem is, there are some emails which are confidential and even the secretary should not see them. I tried to solve this with RMS/IRM but this would be too much of administration. In this case I would need a template with permissions that would allow recipient to see email content, but disallow secretary to open and see the content.

So if I sum up, IRM template should allow viewing content only to recipient and no other and the recipient can be anyone in or out the company!

I don't have any more ideas for this issue. If you can suggest a suitable solution or point me to right direction I would really appreciate.

thanks in advance and best regards

Outlook Anywhere issues with child domains

have outlook anywhere up and running.. the parent domain mail.domain.net users can use outlook fine outside and inside the network, but when I setup a user from (a)domain2 the user will get all the way to authentication prompt but it just keeps asking for prompt. Weird thing is I redid the SSL cert due to someone revoking it and it all worked for a few days fine, now it just prompting for passwords again. I ran Microsoft Remote Connectivity Test and all pass with green lights.. I looked at the XML and seems like all the correct info is sent, but for OUTLOOK it just won't work.. OWA works fine as well..

Anyone got any experience with a similar issue? going insane already, been trying to fix this server for days already and every time I seem to have it working it just starts acting up again.

Outlook 2013 fails randomly to find recipient at GAL when connected via Exchange Anywhere from different forest

$

Hello all,

The summary could be: Outlook 2013 fails randomly to find recipient at GAL when connected via Exchange Anywhere from different forest.

Details:

Computers joined to Forest A consume Exchange Anywhere from Exchange servers through Internet where the Exchange Servers are joined to Forest B. No trust relationship between forest.

When sending encrypted emails, arround 70% of times, Outlook is able to send the email getting the public key of recipient from the GAL, but arround 30% the mail cannot be sent with error, event before or later (restarting Outlook) is able to send to this recipient.

"Microsoft Outlook had problems encrypting this message because the following recipients had missing or invalid certificates, or conflicting or unsupported encryption capabilities"

After some troubleshooting with Process Monitor I noticed that at the moment of send the encrypted mail outlooks waits few seconds and on background an few LDAP connection are stablished to Forest A domain controller.

I reproduced on a third computer joined to Forest C that LDAP connections are also established to the DC of Forest C but there it worked all my test and connection is also done through Internet with Exchange Anywhere.

Does anyone experienced this problem?

Can I avoid those LDAP  to DCs connections anyhow?
