Rule using which is an automatic reply

$

I have the following rules set up:

Apply this rule after the message arrives

which is an automatic reply

move it to the specified folder

The rule is enabled but I continue to receive Out of the Office: and Automatic Reply: e-mails. I attempted to create a rule that would move based on Automatic Reply being in the Subject, except that it doesn't actually appear in the subject, it behaves similar to RE:.

Is there a way to modify the rule to catch these types of e-mails?

The Administrator has made a change

Hi!

We are running Exchange 2013 together with Outlook 2013.

After installing Exchange SP1, the following messages appears on all clients:

"The Exchange admin has made a change that requires you to restart Oulook"

This appears when starting Outlook, and also at random intervals when Outlook is running. I have tested to recreate a profile on the client, but this doesn't help. And the message did not apear before Exchange 2013 SP1.

What can I to to make this disapear?

after migrate Ex2010 to 2013 some mails in inbox (outlook 2013) looks like drafts.

how to resolve this?

When resizing an appointment in Outlook 2013: The reminder for "Appointment" will not appear because the item is in a folder that doesn't support reminders. Is this OK?

Everytime I create an appointment in my Exchange 2010 calendar and try to resize it, I get the following error:

The reminder for "Appointment" will not appear because the item is in a folder that doesn't support reminders. Is this OK?

Of course it's not OK. :)

This is a Exchange 2010 calendar (running in cached mode), not a PST or archive. It is my actual calendar. The mailbox has been converted from Exchange 2003 to 2010 a while ago. I never had these problems in Exchange 2003.

I tried running Outlook /cleanreminders, but that doesn't help.

It also doesn't matter if Outlook is run in cached or non-cached mode.

What should I do?

Outlook 2010 - Send Receive Hangs When Downloading The Offline Address Book

$

Hello There,

I have an issues where the Offline Address Book (OAB) will not download if I have a USB VOIP headset amplifier plugged in.

The amplifier we use is (Plantronics DA60):

I go to "Send Receieve" tab, "Send/Receive Groups", "Download Address Book...", Uncheck the "Download changes since last Send/Receive" box, and then click "OK".

The send receive box comes up and it hangs on "Copying offline address book template file".

If I unplug the amplifier the OAB will download with no problems. I thought it may be related to this Microsoft knowledgebase article: 2619347

Which recommends upgrading the devices driver; the issue is that it doesn't use a third party driver, it uses built in windows drivers.

Here is the response I got from Plantronics regarding the driver:

The drivers your Plantronics USB headset requires should load automatically when you plug the headset into your computer - no software is necessary. The drivers, which are native to the Windows operating system, are as follows:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\drmk.sys
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\portcls.sys
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\USBAUDIO.sys
C:\WINDOWS\system32\SysFxUl.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\WMALFXGFXDSP.dll
If you are missing one or more of these files, check your Windows installation CD or visit your computer manufacturer's web site, and then save them to the proper folder.

At this point in time I am at a loss for what to try next; any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Shane

Exchange 2013 and Outlook for Mac sync issues on some databases.

$

Hi there, hoping someone can nudge me in the right direction with this one..

We are approaching the end of an Exchange 2007 to 2013 CU5 migration and we are seeing an issue popping up that seems to be mentioned elsewhere online with no concrete solution. Outlook for Mac is not syncing automatically and requires the user to manually click Send/Receive to get any mail. Strangely, I've discovered that this is only happening on three of my four 2013 databases, if I move a mailbox to the "good" database then Outlook for Mac starts working fine with emails coming through as usual.

All the databases were set up initially with identical settings.

OWA and Outlook for PC are both fine - Unfortunately I have about 250 Mac users here.

Running the EWS test from the Remote Connectivity Analyser on the "bad" databases fails on the notification section with "no notifications returned" so it's pointing to an EWS issue somewhere

There's nothing in the event logs to point to any issue.

Any ideas?

Ed

Notes are blank in Outlook 2013 after updating the note in IOS 8

$

0

The setup:

On my computer, Windows 7 and Outlook 2013 (Exchange 2013 on the server side).

I create a new note and close it. I can open it, modify it, and everything works as expected.

On my iPhone 6 with IOS 8.0.2, I go into the same note. Everything looks fine. If I modify it and close it, I can open it and everything looks fine.

Now the issue...When I go back to Outlook on my PC and open the same note (subject/title shows in the list view), the note is completely blank.

So, I go back to my phone and everything still looks ok. If I type in the now blank note on the PC, it overwrites the old note contents.

To make all this even stranger, if I log into OWA, the note is there and works fine through this entire process (well, until I overwrite the contents). But, in OWA, it seems to strip out the subject on certain saves.

I tried all this on another laptop I have lying around and get the same results. I tried a new profile. I tried safe mode. All the same.

This leads me to believe that Outlook 2013 has issues displaying notes. If OWA has the correct info, then the server has the correct info.

Does anyone else have this issue or can try to replicate the issue? Any suggestions on fixing it?

365 Bus version Exchange missing mail

Purchased & installed 365 full business version yesterday configured Outlook with the MS exchange connection - took several attempts but eventually found the server and configured.

Did not import anything to a clean ost or create any rules. Only imported the folder set (empty) from a new temp pst data file, but the problem was there before this was done. The account set up was the default

Problem being that I am not receiving/seeing mail from various peoples, in Outlook, but the mail is visible in my Windows Phone on which the Outlook OWA is configured.

Running a search on all folders (desktop Outlook) results in 'outlook not responding' and eventually restarting

Pulling Contacts from OWA, photos not downloading

I am using a 3rd party e-mail package called Touchdown on my Android device. (config isServer- m.outlook.com, SSL enabled, and use Activesync only.)

I am using Microsoft Office 365 and 2013 servers.

When I go into Outlook Desktop and make a change to a contact and add a photo, it shows up in OWA.

Touchdown pulls the information from OWA successfully including name, phone, e-mail, but is not pulling the photo.  When I say photo, that includes the locally added photo from my hard drive, LinkedIn and Facebook.  It is possible that ActiveSync doesn't support LinkedIn and Facebook but I know it supports locally added photos.

One of their developers said "We ask the server for any changes and the folder ID 4"  not sure what that means but thought I would throw it in.

Does anyone know why this is behaving that way?

Outlook 2013 & OWA not retrieving / sending to Exchange 2013

Hi

Have a strange problem with Outlook 2013 - this is connecting to Exchange 2013 on an internal network. My client machine is a Surface Pro 2 running Outlook 2013, with our internal wifi. Everything connects fine to the domain and our proxy servers etc.. but for some reason at times Outlook is unable to retrieve emails even though it shows as Connected to Microsoft Exchange.

We use a http connection for Exchange and this goes through our OWA site, which oddly has a similar problem at the same time. I can login to OWA and browse emails but when I go to send a mail in OWA it shows an error saying its not connected to the internet.

So the question is why would I be able to connect to Exchange and browse email, yet not be able to sync and retrieve mail in Outlook 2013 or send email in OWA?

In the connection status viewer all the http connects for outlook seem to be running fine with HTTP connected but does anyone know a way to test the connectivity through to exchange for sending / retrieving email and why would this also affect OWA

Going crazy with this one so appreciate any help

Note orginally posted in the Office community and recommened to ask here instead :)

Thanks

Alex

Add Symantec SSL seal to OWA web interface

Dear All,

I need to add Symantec SSL seal to show the symantec secure logo on OWA website when users try to log on, to add the logo we generate a code from Symantec portal and import it in the website code.

the question is

- what file should I edit in? and where should i place the generated code?

also please check this link for more clarification:

Missing number of unread email.

$

I have a single user who has two mailboxes set up In outlook 13, both connected to exchange online.

Both of these mailboxes are set to display the number of unread emails next to the folder name however one of them stops doing this every few days, repairing the account resolves this but it is very frustrating for the user.

Even after it stops displaying the unread count the option shows as still selected in the folder properties.

Any ideas out there?

Intermittent Outlook Client Access by clients

We have been experiencing connectivity issues with Outlook clients to our Exchange Server 2013. These are internal clients and autodiscover is set up using a SCP setting in our AD.

If a client gets connected - then it tends to stay connected OK. We are currently using OWA as a backup and that is working fine. Email delivery internal / external is all behaving fine.

The error below is appearing very frequently since the issue was triggered.

Thanks

Paul

Test Exchange Connectivity - why is it pinging the wrong server?

When I run the Outlook Connectivity test using the Microsoft Remote Connectivity Analyser it passes every test until the final one: 'Testing the MAPI Address Book endpoint on the Exchange Server'. It appears to ping one of our Domain Controllers rather than the Exchange server. Is that why it's failing? If so, what setting do I change to make it ping the Exchange server instead?

Here's a snip from the final part of the test:

Dear Users,

i have some questions about outlook if you could answer me it would be so nice of you,

my company website is www.tora.ir and we have made some email addresses,my question is this

when i install outlook on a computer

......!what should i choose between IMAP and POP3

......!what is difference between these two

.....!what should i choose incoming mail server (pop.tora.ir) or (mail.tora.ir)

.....!what should i choose outgoing mail server (smtp.tora.ir) or (mail.tora.ir)

.....!is it possible i set one email address on outlook and the same email address

again can i set on outlook on another computer.

last part of my question the default port does not works for example if the incoming port is 113 and

outgoing port is 25 it does not works. but if i chage these port and incoming is 110 and outgoing is 587

then it works without any problem. i want to know where these ports effects...on myhosting server or

on my local computer.simply my question is this that why these ports have different numbers ...

Thanks in advance
