Exchange 2010 certificate issue

Hi-

We use exchange 2010 on premise with a DAG and 3 cas/hub servers. Our godaddy cert expired recently and we replaced it. Mobile phones sync OK, but we can't open OWA. IE (and chrome and firefox) displays a message that the certificate has been revoked.

Can anyone provide guidance?

thanks

MAPI LOGON FAILED (MAPI_E_LOGON_FAILED) 0X80040111

Hello,

I’m running a test environment with Windows Server 2012 R2 / Exchange 2013 SP1 / Client Outlook 2013

- This is all running on one server

- Exchange is running in a VM  (HyperV)

I have installed Outlook on this machine (thus replacing Exchange MAPI with Outlook MAPI) all works fine.  After I uninstall Outlook and try to run any Mapi application I am not able to connect to my Exchange Server. I have tried using MFCMapi, and even installed CodeTwo’s ExchangeSync which uses Mapi and it also failed.

I do have Mapi HTTP enabled

I checked Outlooks Connection status and it shows HTTPS to the Server.

Any ideas what could be blocking the Mapi connections?

Some users get blank OWA page after logon

Hello all,

I have the following strange issue:

Some, but not all of our users have issues opening OWA. After logging in, the web page stays blank.

In IIS on the CAS server, I see a HTTP 500 error. On the MBX server, I see the following error (multiple times) at exact the moment the user logs on:

Event 65, MSExchange OWA

An error occurred while the Outlook Web App configuration settings were being loaded. Virtual directory: "owa". Web site: "Exchange Back End".
Error message:
"An IIS directory entry couldn't be created. The error message is Access is denied.
. HResult = -2147024891"

The users do not have other issues. Mail syncs perfectly in Outlook (2013) and on mobile devices.

Environment: Exchange 2013 SP1 (2x CAS servers, load balanced, 3x MBX servers in a DAG).

How can I troubleshoot this?

Regards,

Stephan van der Plas

Outlook 2010 stuck on loading profile

Hello,

I know I've posted this question before but I had little response so I'm trying again as this seems to be a problem for Outlook 2010 in our whole office - it gets stuck on loading profile ONLY when we first start up our computers, seems to be a general problem for Outlook 2010 - we are all running Windows 7 64 bit - I've removed and reloaded the profiles without any success and tried things mentioned on other forums. Could do with some decent help to be honest as this is becoming a pain.

Exchange server damages Word files -> cannot be opened on Word for iPad anymore

Dear all,

I posted the following problem in the Office for iPad forum and was asked to address this topic here as well. Probably you can help?

****

In my office we are using Word 2007 to create ordinary .docx files. When I email such a file to my iPad I cannot open it neither in the Mail.app preview nor in Word for iPad.

Mail.app tells me its an "Office Open XML word processing document" and Word just tells me the file is damaged. However the files opens just fine in various versions of Word for PC and Mac.

Does anyone know what is happening here? I bought Office for iPad especially to being able to open the word files I create in my office... :-(

****

Additional info:

I ran the following test:

I took a .docx file I created on my office PC which was stored on our server and saved it locally to my PC harddrive. I then saved a copy as .doc as well. Then I emailed both files to my office Outlook account AND my iCloud account (with one email).

BOTH files did NOT open in Word for iPad from my Outlook account (Exchange Server) but BOTH files just opened fine from my iCloud account.

I then forwarded the email from my Outlook account to my iCloud account and now BOTH files did NOT open on the iPad anymore.

So it seems that my Outlook account (Exchange server) corrupts the files so they cannot be opened on the iPad anymore, while they can still be opened on a PC or Mac.

Do you have any ideas to solve that issue?

It cannot be that Office for iPad doesnt work in combination with an Exchange Server Outlook Account, can it?

best regards

Wolfgang

Hello,

Throughout the office we seem to be getting a lot of synchronization log issues no matter what version of Outlook we have, We get hundreds of log issues created with every email we send, I have checked with the Outlook Web App to see if all my emails are being synchronized with the server and all of them are there, but we are still getting these messages. Any help as to why we are getting these messages and anyway to stop them?

How to retrieve the lost data from the outbox..I got a call from the client and he was working on few e-mails for past 3 hours and they were stored in outbox for some reason. The moment he connected the laptop to the network the data has been removed automatically.

I am not sure whether there are temp files created and we can revert it back to normal one.

Any response will be appreciated.

Outlook 2007 - Mail cannot be sent, when a public folder is attached to outlook

Hey Folks,

I have a weird issue that troubles some of my co-workers.

We're using an Exchange 2013 als Mail Server and Outlook 2007 as Client. Some users, i have no i clues why only some are affected, running into the issue that an email cannot be sent and got stuck in outbox, as long as a public folder is attached within outlook 2007. If the user disconnects from the public folder, outlook sends any email immediately. I was able to recognize a huge amount of connection tries within the outlook connection overview, but the try is never successful, so the counter rises.... The version of Outlook is MS Outlook 2007 (12.0.6680.5000) SP3 MSO (12.0.6683.5000)

Does anyone got this issue too and has a solution?

Thanks,
Sascha

Hi All,

Selecting user from the TO (GAL All user), I can see the user name, but the error "The recipient could not be added. It doesn't have an email" return

I had a search at the forum and found someone with the exact same issue.

Connectivity from an Intranet to Exchange 2013.

I am new at coding with ASP.NET in C#, but I am trying to create an Intranet environment with the new Metro styling and I want to either embed a calendar and mail resources within one of the pages or somehow execute each of these with a tile. I am not sure if this is possible, but if anyone could point me into the right direction, I would appreciate it very much.

Exchange 2013 Public Folder Accessability Issues

After migrating from Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2013 we are experiencing random issues accessing Public Folders.  Issues range from a hung server requests to on-screen errors like this one:

“Cannot expand the folder. Microsoft Exchange is not available. Either there are network problems or the Exchange server is down for maintenance”

We are using groups to manage permissions, verified that they are mail enabled, and have used the following PS command to re-propagate permissions:

./AddUsersToPFRecursive.ps1 -TopPublicFolder "%folder%" -User "%groupname" -Permissions %permissionlevel"

The odd thing is that if the user bounces between on of their Inbox folders then back to one of the Public folders or restarts Outlook it seems to resolve itself.

Ideas?

Client side disabling of Outlook anywhere in Outlook 2013

$

Hi

Our admins recently had to disable external access for Outlook while keeping ActiveSync for Mobile Clients working. This was done by placing the autodiscover service (autodiscover.ourexternaldomain.com) behind a TMG with two factor authentication, and also putting our mail.ourexternaldomain.com behind the same TMG. So, Outlook from outside the network can't connect anymore (it will show you the login/pass prompt but what it wants is the two factor credentials, not your domain credentials.. so essentially you can't connect anymore), and mobile client still work.

In addition, they've disabled the "Outlook anywhere" options (specifically, "Connect to Microsoft Exchange using HTTP" is not only grayed out, it is forced disabled) by GPO.

Unfortunately, that doesn't work for the handful that's already using Outlook 2013. There, even when the "Connect to Microsoft Exchange using HTTP" option is unchecked, the client will query autodiscover.ourexternaldomain.com, and eventually gets the response containing not only the EXCH protocol (which contains the internal urls), but also the EXPR protocol containing the public urls. That in turn re-enables "Connect to Microsoft Exchange using HTTP", so now clients, even when inside the organization will try to access the mail.ourexternaldomain.com which is behind the TMG, resulting in perpetual login prompts being displayed (the login actually comes from the TMG, not Exchange).

So, is there a way to force disable "Connect to Microsoft Exchange using HTTP" for Outlook 2013, preferably without changing anything on Exchange and the GPO. I guess I'm looking for the registry key that is set for outlook 2010. I checked up on the GPO for Outlook 2010 and it seems it sets HKCU/Software/Policies/Microsoft/Office/14.0/Outlook/RPC/ProxyServerFlags = 0. Doing the same for Outlook 2013 (so using the Office/15.0/Outlook/RPC key) results in outlook no longer being able to connect altogether.

When I manually remove the checkbox and restart Outlook, it first connects using the internal url, then after getting autodiscover it sets the checkbox "Connect to Microsoft Exchange using HTTP" again, and since the external url can be resolved from inside the network, I get the password prompts again even from inside the corporate network.

Is there a registry key combination that keeps outlook connecting but never using the http proxy?

Outlook Connectivity Problem on 2003 Term Server - Exchange 2013

I am working on deploying a new 2013 Exchange server. The Exchange is installed on a 2012 Server OS. I have three windows terminal servers (or remote desktop services) at three separate locations that have users working on them via thin-client - (RDP). The users run Outlook 2010 from the three servers. Two of the terminal servers are Windows 2008 R2 and one is 2003 R2 Standard. I am able to get the Outlook clients to connect to Exchange from the two 2008 servers but the Outlook clients on the 2003 server are so far unable to connect to the Exchange server.

When I try to add the mail profile from the control panel - signed on as each user - it auto detects the user profile and looks like it connects but then it prompts for a password. I can try to input the password but it will not accept it. Ultimately it fails with a message indicating Outlook cannot log on etc., etc.

These three servers are at three different locations but connect back to the location where the Exchange server resides via MPLS. Connectivity between locations is solid.

Odd thing is I have an old 2003 server at the same location where the Exchange box is and I fired it up and tried to connect an Outlook client from it and it does not work either.

Does anyone know of any documented problems with connecting to 2013 Exchange from a 2003 server OS? Or, conversely, has anyone successfully deployed Exchange to Outlook clients on a 2003 server?

I'm getting hammered by spam from .RU

I am using MS Office 365 Exchange and Outlook 2007 on PCs. And of course I have an iPhone.

Here is the problem:

On Outlook I can exclude any/all top level Domains e.g. .RU, .IL etc. But there is no way that I can do this on Exchange Online.(at least i can't find a way) Thus, all of the trash email is hitting my iPhone. When the same email hits my PC Outlook trashes the .Ru etc. Outlook politely trashes it.

How can I exclude top level DOMAINS on Exchange Online?

As far as i can tell ExchangeOnline allows for excluded IPs. The SpamMongers change the IPs every second so that wont work.

Hi!

We have Exchange 2013 SP1 and Server 2012 R2 with Update 1.

When I open OWA and go to my personal ECP on account page I get:

500Unexpected Error :(An error occurred and your request couldn't be completed. Please try again.

Admin ECP and all other pages are working just fine it`s just account page that is giving me problems.
I already tried resetting virtual directories bu no luck.

Has recent Windows update borked sth up?

Greg
