MSEXchange not rejecting bad email addresses

I have written a specialized email application In ACCES 2010 for my department. At first I couldn't send email outside our domain so the server folks turned on relay and gave me a static IP address. However, now the mail server does not reject bad email addresses unless I leave off everything to the right of the @ sign. Example my real address isme@mycompany.org. But if I change something in the address, such asmexxxx@mycompany.org I don't get an error message back from the mail server, error handling is ignored and it counts as being sent.  This is true for emails going both inside and outside the domain.  It seems to me that something needs to be configured on the host, or I need to do something in my ap. (I'm no expert here.)  The Send part of the code is an ACCESS 2010 function. (Mail server is MSExchange 2010.) If nothing is wrong it works great.

Outlook 2010 and 365 sync issues

I have been having a problem with one of my user's Outlook.

We are using Outlook 2010, connecting to Office 365 for email.

I have been posting in the Office 365 community forums, but was advised to post here too... (for quickness, I have just copied and pasted my most recent query)

I have been posting a few queries on here relating to a variety of problems in a particular user's mailbox. The user in question had access to  8 user mailboxes and 5 shared mailboxes.
To try to resolve these issues I have removed all the mailboxes. All the user has access to now is her own mailbox. However, when looking in the sync issues/conflicts folder, there are messages from all the other mailboxes. How is Outlook still finding problems with these other mailboxes when Outlook isn't trying to update these in this instance of Outlook on the user's PC? There are in excess of 20k emails in the conflict folder.
If you need any more info about the issues I have been having please take a look at these...
Hi, Following on from my earlier post.. I removed the outlook profile, recreated the ost file and now the user only as her own mailbox in Outlook. However, the conflicts folder is still updating itself with all the old messages (over 20K). It has been updating now for over 2 hours. I can't delete them from the conflicts folder because there seems to be a time lag between Outlook and the server on 365, so the deleted message go back into the conflicts folder as they can't be deleted from the server. Bit of a catch 22. There are no new messages appearing, just ones from before yesterday when I took away the access to all the other mailboxes.
Is the reason for so many messages in the conflicts folder due to a slow network. Seems odd as no other user who had access to the same mailboxes has this issue. Although the average number of messages in the conflicts folder is approx. 8k.
Any ideas?
All help gratefully accepted.
Thanks
Karen

Two Exchange Calendars Go In... One Calendar Shows Up in the Taskbar

So I just started a new job and my deck has Office 2010 on it.  We use Exchange internally, and then I also have a client alias which I use regularly.  My main complaint is that there's no way I can get both Exchange calendars to overlap in my appointments calendar on the main page.

Also, when booking appointments between both aliases, the calendars don't integrate, so I have to check two separate calendars before booking a meeting.

I never had this problem in the past, but I was using a POP and Exchange server for both emails -- maybe that was why it was easy.  I've done some hunting and called tech support, and everybody doesn't seem to have any idea OR suggest I upgrade to Office 13.  Does anybody know how to get these two calendars to play nice with each other?

Thanks!

Exchange 2013 owa - Email view and sending error

Hi,

Yesterday i installed exchange server successfully, Now am tried to send the mail from my account its getting the below error,

The message can't be opened in a separate window for the following reason: The message can't be saved because your device isn't connected to the Internet. Try again when you regain connectivity.
Want this to work even when you don't have a network connection? Set up your mail for offline use

I tried from our forum for solutions, I got the below one

Step-1:First take the copy of Application host.config present under c:\windows\system32\inetsrv\config\
Step-2:
Go to c:\windows\system32\inetsrv\config\
Opne Applicationhost.config file , check the following. If not available , add the following lines

<addname="svc-ISAPI-4.0_64bit"path="*.svc"verb="*"modules="IsapiModule"scriptProcessor="%windir%\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\aspnet_isapi.dll"preCondition="classicMode,runtimeVersionv4.0,bitness64"/><addname="svc-ISAPI-4.0_32bit"path="*.svc"verb="*"modules="IsapiModule"scriptProcessor="%windir%\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\aspnet_isapi.dll"preCondition="classicMode,runtimeVersionv4.0,bitness32"/><addname="svc-Integrated-4.0"path="*.svc"verb="*"type="System.ServiceModel.Activation.ServiceHttpHandlerFactory, System.ServiceModel.Activation, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35"preCondition="integratedMode,runtimeVersionv4.0"/>

The above lines should be added exactly in between below tags:

<handlersaccessPolicy="Read, Script"></handlers>

It should be added under section

</system.webServer><locationpath=""overrideMode="Allow"><system.webServer>

Step-3:Restart IIS

But its already there in that config File.

Even i want to know about the SMTP and POP3 configuration. I configured send connectors and receive connector. But i dono this related to that POP and SMTP. Please suggest me to resolve the issue. If you have any document for 2013 about pop and smtp configuration Please attach that.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

We are planning to migrate an Exchange 2013 instance to a centralized one. The question is how to deal with the Outlook OST mail files left over from the old instance and were wondering what best practices in this regard there may be.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can provide.

Hey guys, i have a lab here of Exchange 2010 and Exchange 2013, ive set internel auth to NTLM and External to Basic, IIS auth to both, but i have my autodiscover records both internal and external, DNs is split brain, so all namespaces are the same. Now when the client is external the OA settings dont automatically switch to basic, the continue to keep the internal settings, does anyone know what would cause this? I'm also using TMG to publish.

Thanks in advance.

At first it was not working. I tgried adding a line to my hosts file..

192.168.1.53mail.mycompanyname.com

Still not working.

According to KB2925273, the work around doesn't really work for us, when can we expect a proper fix for this bug?

OWA gives HTTP 500 error for several users

$

Exchange 2013 SP1. Since last week we have the issue that some users are getting an HTTP 500 Internal Server error when they access OWA from the internet after logging on. For other users it works fine. When the users who are having problems access OWA from internally they can logon fine. OWA authentication is set to Windows Integrated.

For external access OWA is published using TMG. No errors are reported in the eventlog of TMG or the Exchange server. Any idea what might cause this? Is there a way to get some more detailed information about the HTTP error 500?

I've checked the issue with inheritance on the AD user object, but the userobjects have inheritance enabled. Also, since it's Exchange 2013 it doesn't have the Form based authentication service which also might cause this error.

Any idea?

Frank.

Exchange 2013 cannot deliver mails

Hello,
We purchased and installed an Exchange server 2013 and a domain name ''alaa.com''. Just before purchasing the domain name, we installed exchange, we kept almost everything in default setting and we added an MX INTERNAL Send Connector. We were able to send and receive internal mails. However, when we purchased the domain name and configured the MX record to point to mail.alaa.com the following happened:
1/ we can send external mails
2/ internal mails leave the Drafts folder but never delivered (sent but not received).
3/ Cannot receive mails sent from the internet. However we receive an email from postmaster@sst.com.tn that says this:
http://txt.do/138s
and sometimes this:
http://txt.do/138a

Please, this is urgent, We would really appreciate your help.

Outlook 2013 not down-loeading Emails from IMAP; one message stuck in draft folder

$

Hello,

Not being a computer buff and having gone through the various discussion fora I can't find my specific problem:

1. Outlook gets stuck in the send/receive mode and, subsequently, does not complete the IMAP synchornization, but here is no unsent message in the Outbox.

2. However, there is an old message in the Outlook draft folder (not in visible in the folder of the E-mail account) which I suspect is the reason for the programme to get stuck. I cannot delete and purge that message, despite trying in several ways, online and offline. This message had an 8MB attachment (which I have been able to delete).

3. As a consequence (I assume) Outlook gets entirely blocked at random intervals. When I try to close it the message comes that "Outlook iis not responding" and needs to re-start.

Any advice?

Outlook 2013 / Outlook 365 crashes after SP1 when opening email

$

Hi,

I already posted this question in the Outlook forum but was referred to this one because I am connecting to Exchange servers:

I have a frustrating issue with Outlook 2013 (Work)/ Outlook 365 (Home) after the installation of Office Service Pack 1. Outlook starts fine and shows the Outlook Today screen. As soon as I go to my inbox and Outlook wants to show the preview of the first email it crashes. The switch /NoPreview lets me go to my inbox but then Outlook crashes when I try to open an email (any email).

Outlook runs fine in Safe Mode so I tried to uninstall / disable Add Ins (set LoadBehavior to 0 in the registry). No success.

At work I could fix the issue by uninstalling SP1. But at home Office fails to roll back to a version before SP1 (integratedoffice.exe REPAIRUI RERUNMODE version xxxxxxxxxx). It says I must be online (which I am, of course). Reinstalling didn't help either.

Windows 7 Enterprise, 64 Bit (Work), Windows 7 Business, 64 Bit (Home). Office 32 Bit.

Company hosted Exchange Server 2010 (Work), 3rd party hosted Exchange account 2013 (Home), Outlook.com account (Home).

Creating a new profile with only the Outlook.com account did not fix the issue.

Outlook Product Stability Diagnostic and OfficeCAT could not find anything. So I don't know what to do anymore. Please help.

Thanks and kind regards,

iBlueDragon

PS: At home I fixed the issue by reinstalling my notebook with Windows 8.1. Now Outlook is running fine again. But still no solution for work.

One user can't get Outlook to work

Hi,

We have one user who is having problems with Outlook. It started a few weeks ago, and no one else is having the same problem. It says "The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online to complete this action"

Environment:

Outlook 2010

Windows 7

Exchange 2010

What i've tried:

1. Repairing the Outlook installation

2. Running anti-virus full scan, which revealed that there were viruses on this computer!

3. Making sure the workstation can ping the Exchange server. It can, but Outlook can't reach the Exchange server.

4. Running scanpst or whatever it is. It found problems and I choose the repair option.
5. Uninstalled Office 2010 then reinstalled it

I've run out of ideas really, and have tried pretty much everything that googling found. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Hello,

We have deployed exchange server 2013 under domain name, mydomain.com. The problem is that when we send a local  email to, lets say user@mydomain.com (internal mailbox) , the mail is routed through the internet. Is there a way to make the internal mails routed inside the LAN ?

Thank you.

Cannot Connect Outlook 2013 to Exchange 2013

I have an exchange 2013 server running on a Windows Server 2012 R2 box that is also a domain controller and performs DNS.  I have installed an SSL certificate for mail.domainname.com installed and listed as valid in ECP.  When I try to connect a local computer running Outlook 2013 on Windows 7 I get asked for login and password which it won't accept.  I have tried my user and my administrator credentials, either work.

It then says that "The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action."

I can connect via OWA and don't get any certificate errors.  My internal host name and external host name are both mail.domainname.com according to the Get-OutlookAnywhere | ft internalhostname, externalhostname.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
