OWA 2013 GAL Not Showing Users Details

$

Hi,

After upgrading from Exchange 2010 to 2013, I am seeing some issues within the 'People' section of OWA. I can see a list of users, groups, contacts but when selecting any of them, the user information to the right is missing. Also, it will not allow me to select any of the other users apart from the top one.

If I try this in Outlook client, it works fine.

What am I missing here?

Thanks

Dave

Hi All,

We have an old Novell proxy solution in which we proxy OWA (Exchange 2010), Phone connections, and other websites through. We would like to replace the box with a MS solution or one that runs on a windows box.

Please point me in the right direction.

Thank you

Action Items link in email displays a 404 error

$

Just installed a pair of Exchange 2013 servers in our organization and have configured a load balancer for access.  Mail flow, Activesync, calendar, etc.. are all working as expected but some emails display the Action Items link in Outlook.  When I click on it, the section expands and a 404 error is displayed.  If it were a connectivity issue with the load balancer I would expect to get a 'cannot access page' message.  This page is obviously generated by Exchange (if I scroll down it shows the same visual style as the Exchange 2013 OWA page).  I've tried searching solutions online and find plenty of information on developing Mail Apps but not much on administering them.  Anyone else run into this problem and/or know how to fix it?

Thanks!

Windows Phone 8 get mail over internet.

Hi

This regards Windows Phone 8 and Exchange 2013 running on Server 2012.

I can get an Outlook account set up on the phone in the office by using wifi and the local server name but I haven't got a clue how to do this over the internet.  If I put in the mail domain, user name, password etc. no link can be established.

Searches only tell me what I already know, something fundamental is being assumed!

Andrew

OWA logs user out when they try to set an Out Of Office Message

After upgrading to Exchange 2013 users can no longer set their Out Of Office (via OWA option 'Set Automatic Replies'). When a user tries to do so via OWA they are immediately logged out and get the error message "The user name or password you entered isn't correct. Try entering it again."

We are currently on CU3, not sure if the problem was introduced in Exchange 2013 initially or once CU3 was applied.

Users see the same behavior when they try to check a Message Delivery Report via OWA.

Exchange 2013 Outlook Autodiscover / ActiveSync Issue

Dears,

I've installed Exchange 2013 on Windows 2012 Server, and everything was going just perfect except for the certificate issues.

I was able to configure the Outlook setting automatically for any domain client just accepting the self-signed certificate, and it was working fine..

It was fine until I configured our DNS manager local and on Godaddy for Autodiscover settings, and I can't do that anymore.

I just can add account as IMAP.

I'm getting these errors:

I've used Autodiscovertest.exe, and it is giving now TLS certificate issue.

Cannot Connect Outlook 2013 to Exchange 2013

$

Good afternoon,

I recently installed Exchange 2013. I can connect to ECP/OWA via a web browser without any issues - inside and externally. I have successfully created a pop connector and mail is flowing from my test gmail account through the connector in to Exchange. I can also successfully send and receive email - and the external recipient gets the email. Lastly, I can connect to the exchange server from my phone, and all those features work.

What I can't seem to do is get Outlook 2013 to connect to the exchange server - and it is driving me insane! I have used a brand new test laptop with a fresh copy of Outlook 2013 on it - to rule out any pre-existing profile issues. I open Outlook and it auto-completes the server name (in my case the server's name is Exchange), and it autofills in my username. I then get a couple SSL prompts about the cert not matching the server - I can deal with these later. When it gets to the configuring screen it has a green check next to Establishing Network Connection and Searching for testuser@mydomain.com (not my real info). I then get an alert that says: "The action cannot be completed. The connection to Microsoft is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action."

I then installed Outlook on the actual Exchange server, and it does the exact same thing. I cannot tell you how many installs I have done over the years that were much smoother and pretty much worked the 1st time. What am I missing?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Exchange 2013 OWA HTTP 500 error when opening another mailbox

We have an Windows Server 2012 Exchange 2013 server with OWA.

All users can login fine, but when I open another mailbox with my Admin account, having enabled access to that user's mailbox, the URL redirects to /owa/auth/errorfe.aspx?httpCode=500 and shows:

:-(
something went wrong
Sorry, we can't get that information right now. Please try again later. If the problem continues, contact your helpdesk

Google won't help me in this instance. Where in the eventlog are OWA events logged?

Exchange 2013 SP1 & Custom OWA Theme

$

On Friday of last week we updated from Exchange 2013 CU2 to Exchange 2013 SP1. Since updating our custom OWA theme no longer works. We configured it according to the following guide:

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb201700(v=exchg.150).aspx

The theme we customized was stored in the following location:

\Client Access\OWA\version\Owa2\resources\themes\"title of our theme"

Themes no longer appear to be stored in this location and I am uncertain as to where they have moved and how to apply them. Has anyone else run into this issue?

Outlook Web App incorrect information about features and browser compatability

$

The Outlook Web App help pages are riddled with incorrect information. Microsoft want to charge me £199 to tell them this by phone. It is incredibly frustrating as this misleading information is preventing me from using the OWA as I need to use it.

The browser compatability list suggests that iOS6 and later supports the full/best version when they only seem to support the Light version. Using Safari on an iPad Air allows you to select the Light version when you log in but ignores your choice and forces the Light version on you whether you wanted it or not:

http://office.microsoft.com/en-gb/support/supported-browsers-for-outlook-web-app-HA102824601.aspx

Once in the OWA light version, the instructions for switching to the full version are either out of date of simply incorrect (there are no options as described):

http://office.microsoft.com/en-gb/office-online-help/outlook-web-app-light-HA102846728.aspx?CTT=1

According to this help page, the From field is shown with every new email. It is not. The From field is deliberately excluded from the current Light version for some unknown reason. This is absolutely critical to me as I need to send via Exchange distribution groups:

http://office.microsoft.com/en-gb/office-online-help/outlook-web-app-light-mail-HA102846730.aspx?CTT=1

How can Microsoft publish such misleading help information?

OWA doesn't work on all servers! "Use the following link to open this mailbox with optimal performance:"

Hi All,

I am having a problem with OWA. I have 3  2007 exchange servers on 3 different sites on the same AD Forest. My emails work fine internally and externally with outlook. I have setup Outlook Anywhere on Server No1 with external email address:

https://mail.company.com/owa

Everybody can login fine.

I have setup OWA on the other 2 servers with the same address, but when a user from that site tries to login gets the following message:

"Use the following link to open this mailbox with optimal performance:"

So the can't see their emails!

Please help me out as I am trying to solve it for days now and I can't find out what is wrong!

Thank you All!

Outlook 2011 for Mac users must click send/receive to get new mail from exchange 2013 server

$

I recently switched our primary CAS servers over from a single exchange 2010 cas/mailbox/hub server to a couple new exchange 2013 CAS/Mailbox servers.  Exchange 2013 has cu3, and is hosted on windows server 2012.  Anyone who has their mailbox hosted on one of these exchange 2013 servers has an issue where they must click the send/receive button to get new messages downloaded to their client. This is only the case for outlook 2011 for mac client.  Activesync clients, mac mail, OWA, and Outlook 2010/13 all behave normally.

Where can I look or what can I check to troubleshoot this issue?

OWA 2013 redirects FBA external URL to internal URL

$

In coexistence with exchange 2010 SP3 and exchange 2013 SP1 on Windows Server 2012 R2. Having an issue with OWA/ECP login. When both CAS servers are active on our F5 load balancer, OWA/ECP login page loops. If one server is set offline, login works and 2010 accounts are redirected with out issue. If I login directly to the various CAS servers, no issues.

Looking at the IIS logs, I see that it is redirecting the OWA/ECP url. Exchange redirects the FBA login page to https://INTERNAL.URL/owa/auth/logon.aspx?replaceCurrent=1&url=https%3a%2f%2fINTERNAL.URL%2fowa%2f302 0 0 46. We are using a single name space and I have verified that all the virtual directories have the internal and external URLs set to the correct namespace. I also verified that no virtual directories have any redirection configured via IIS manager. We also tested using a barracuda load balancer and experienced that same issue.

Any help or suggestion would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Jorge

Exchange 2013 sp1 affects OWA access on substandard port

$

Prior to SP1 i was able to run owa on port 9443. This is now an issue on sp1.

From testing what i have found is that when you access owa on a substandard port you are redirected to the auth/logon.aspx page on port 443 despite the fact that you accessed the site on a different port. After i login to the auth page i am correctly redirected back onto port 9443. The issue is that the environment i am in does not permit me to port forward 443 to the server therefore owa no longer works in this circumstance. I tried playing with urlrewrite but i believe there is a module in exchange that is fighting the rewrite. Is it possible to have this addressed? Assuming port 443 for the login page seems like a mistake since i am able to specify the port in the external url address for all services.

Outlook /OWA apps not working

$

Hi all

I have just finished installing a production exchange 2013 install with one CAS and one MBX. All functions are working well OWA works internally and externally and users that are still on exchange 2007 are being transferred over to the old OWA when they log in. The problem that I have now is that the Outlook apps are not working in outlook 2013 or OWA.

Bing maps and Action item either fail to load or I get Navigation to this webpage was canceled. If I hit the refresh the page link I get there was a problem with this websites security cert. If I then click continue I get a 404 cant find page.

This happens to all users that have been moved over the the ex2013 server.

I have a feeling this is an internal url problem as I think the cert being sent is for the private cert and not the public cert

Has anyone seen this before?

Thanks in advance
