Mailbox not showing in room finder

$

HI,

I've created a room list in exchange 2010 and i have added members to the list (room mailboxes of course). Some of the mailboxes in the list were equipment mailboxes that have been converted to room mailboxes a year ago.

When i open the room finder in outlook 2010, i only see the room mailboxes that was created as «room mailboxes» since day one. The others, the one that was converted from equipment mailboxes to room mailboxes don't appear in the room finder. I have compared the attributes of the two but i see no differences.

I've done another experience : I've created one room mailbox (room1)and one equipment mailbox (room2). I converted the equipment mailbox to a room mailbox. I added the two in a room list. When opening Room finder in outlook 2010, room1 appears but not room2.

Can someone have an idea without recreating all my room mailboxes ?

Thanks.

User come in in the morning and outlook wont accept there password untill they log into OWA

Some mornings (not all) we get several users complain that outlook it asking to provide credentials (this is almost a daily issue but the user effected changes)

some times just leaving the account for a few minuets (20 or so) will then allow the accounts to log in again.

Also if we get the effected user to log into OWA outlook seems to burst back into life again.

I think we have ruled out client issues as it has happened at least once or twice to every user member (about 120 users)

OWA always works though.

Has any one seen this before or have any idea what could be causing this. I have my own suspicions but whant to know what people think first.

Exchange 2013 OWA - Open Shared Group

We have users who create personal distribution groups by using their Outlook clients (2007/2010/2013), and when the groups are shared and opened with Outlook clients the users are able to view the shared group.  Everything works fine when its client to client.

Now, we have thousands of users who only use OWA 2013 as their primary source for email.  When a client user sends a sharing invitation to an OWA user, the OWA  user is not able to open/view the invite and they receive the following error:

The action couldn't be completed.

An error occurred and your request couldn't be completed.  If the problem continues, contact your helpdesk with this HTTP status code: 500.

Now, what's strange is that the user sending the shared distribution group is sending it out as a shared group, but in OWA it is received as a Shared Calendar.

Is there any way that a user in OWA 2013 can open a shared distribution group that was created by a user who was using an Outlook Client?

Authentication Pop-Up when in LAN

Hi!

I've noticed that after migrating Outlook Clients to Exchange 2013 they request the users Login Information when Outlook is started no matter if they are in the LAN or in the Internet. My guess is that the authentication Settings in the IIS on my CAS Server aren't correct. Where can I find out how to configure them so that we don't get the pop-up in the LAN anymore?

Oh, Outlook is set to "negotiate".

Best Regards,

Gerrit Deike

Hi guys,

it's my first time so might be the wrong place to ask but i have a problem. We had a exchange 2003 server and migrated to exchange 2010 (we moved all mailboxes etc.) now i tried to restore a mailbox (originaly created on Exch2003 - migrated to 2010, deleted, we recreated the AD account and mailbox) but after a succesfful restrre can't see any e-mails in the mailbox , but in EMC i can see that under total items for the mailbox it has like 700 items !! browsed the profile with MFCMAPI and i'm wondering why this user has one time Information Store and the 2nd time it in German ? the on in english language is from Exch2003 / german Exch2010 but we had both Exchange in german installed ?

Outlook prompts for password

Hi

We are in a migration of Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013, so for the moment it is a coexistence.

I migrated 2 mailboxes to Exchange 2013. After the migration, outlook started prompting for a password by starting outlook. Once the password has been entered, outlook works fine. But that happens only if outlook cache mode is active. If I disable cached mode, outlook starts without prompting for a password.

So I deactivated cached mode, deleted the ost file and again activated cached mode. Now Outlook starts without prompting for a password, even if cached mode is active.

Deleting the ost file for 1 or 2 users is fine, but not if there are 200 more mailboxes to migrate.

I cannot reproduce the behavior with test mailboxes, created after Exchange 2013 has been installed into the organization. All these mailboxes can be migrated without password prompts.

By the way, I found different posts about the authentication settings for outlook anywhere. I found on Exchange 2007 that the ClientAuthenticationmode was Basic, while NTLM on Exchange 2013. So I changed it to NTLM as well. Everything is still working.

I am going to migrate 2 more mailboxes, and I will see tomorrow if the problem still exists.

Any Suggestion?

Regards
Peter

Exchange 2013 OWA published through TMG: Unable to preview documents with Office Web App server

We configured our Exchange 2013 servers to use Office Web App for document previews on OWA. Everything works fine internally, and externally also when we access OWA directly. But when from an outside network we open a OWA session through TMG and try to preview a document, we get the error "Sorry we cannot open this document, an error occured . . ."

Did anyone experience such an issue ?

Thanks,

Antonio

I have created a new calender and as I attempt to share it, the icon is faded ('share calendar') out and I am unable to click on it. I tried to change the permission in the properties but that tab is not there either. Is there something I am doing wrong?

Please explain clearly how do you retrieve missing email messages that got trapped in the folder outbox.  I restarted outlook and it lost my emails.  Normally in an older version, it would either stay in my outbox or send them upon reopening.  Please HELP

I have some users with at least 2 additional mailboxes, and if the user need to reply an email that is in the inbox of the additional mailbox, by default the smtp that shows in the from field is from the additional mailbox. Then the user must change the email address to yours every times, because he always need that the email address was yours.

Thanks in advance.

OWA Blank Attachment Preview with Office Web Apps Server

Environment:  Exchange 2013 CU3 / Office Web Apps Server 2013
OS:  Windows Server 2012 R2

After implementing Office Web Apps server per the Integration with Exchange 2013 instructions, attachment previews in OWA show up as blank windows.  The pop up says Opening your mailbox, then goes blank.  I have the WAC endpoint configured in Exchange, I can access the discovery URL from the Exchange servers, and I am seeing event 142.  Some forums say that these events should be in the CAS application logs.  I am seeing mine in the Mailbox server app logs.  Has anyone seen a similar issue. I have also attempted to view the ULS logs on the Office Web Apps server, but I don't see anything that looks like a rendering request.  But, I also don't know what that request would look like.  The Exchange and Office Web Apps server are in the same network with no firewall in between them The local firewalls have also been turned off, so any type of blockage should not be the issue.

Exchange 2013 autodiscover finds external & internal SSL certificate causing autodiscover to fail

<p>Hi:</p><p>I'm currently working on a windows 2012 server, with exchange 2013, lets say our internal domain is "cars.com" and ALSO the case for&nbsp;our external domain. We have purchased an SSL wildcard positive certificate *.cars.com so that we could configure Outlook Anywhere, we have created the needed DNS records at godaddy and our internal server, OWA, ECP it all works if you go to&nbsp; <a href="https://bird.cars.com/owa">https://bird.cars.com/owa</a> because we have a DNS record for bird in godaddy and out local server, so all of that is working like a pro ! here comes the tricky part, our website is registered in godaddy but hosted by someone else a company called poetic systems; when we test the connection with the remote connectivity analyzer website we get a very peculiar error that says SSL certificate not valid, now it provides the name of the certificate it found and is not ours, we found that the hosting company is listening in port 443, therefore, it is pulling their self signed certificate also, does anyone have a fix for this, I have done this same setup before for other companies and this is the first time a situation like this happens. I REALLY NEED HELP !!!!!</p>

Outlook 2013 slow to start with Outlook 365 on Windows 7

$

Hi,

I get to work, start up my PC. It's windows 7.

The first thing I do is kick off Outlook 2013 which piggy backs off office 365.

It takes a minute for the splash screen to appear, another minute of watch dots fly across the splash page then a minute while add-ins get applied.

Why does it take so long for the first two phases to complete?

What add ins do I actually need? I've disabled those I think surplus to requirements, but in reality if Outlook 2013/0ffice 365 need them why do they need to be added in at all?

Thanks.

K

Hi all,

We had a cross-forest Exchange migration (2010 => 2013) last weekend and now we've trouble with a shared mailbox:

I try to connect a shared mailbox from the resource forest to an Outlook (2010) client in the user forest. The user has no linked mailbox, but fullaccess permission for the shared mailbox.

When I set up the email profile Outlook says it can't find the name in the addresslist.

(Mailbox isn't hidden from addresslist).

Thanks,

Jonas
