Can't move "completed" items into folders using Outlook 2013 on a Microsoft Office 365 Home Premium Account using a work Exchange 2010 address

$

I've been in touch with several Microsoft support teams about this issue, and the latest move was to shove me off onto Pro support, but since I'm using a personal Office account, I'm hoping that through the community I can find a way to resolve this issue without escalating through our IT department. I do not think this is an Exchange issues because I have previously used this product and method without resulting in this error on a Windows 7 32-bit AMD computer and a Windows 8 and 8.1 Professional 64-bit Intel computer.

Here's my current specs:

Windows 7 Professional 64-bit, service pack 1
AMD A6-5400 3.6 GHz
8GB RAM
Microsoft Office 365 Home Premium
Office updates automatically, version 15.0.4551.1512
About Outlook shows "Microsoft Outlook 2013 (15.0.4551.1511) MSA (15.0.4551.1508) 32-bit/Part of Microsoft Office 365 Home Premium"

Here's how to reproduce the issue:

1) Open View Settings
2) Select "Other Settings..."
3) Disable "Use compact layout in widths smaller than XX characters" and enable "Always use single-line layout"
4) Select "Columns..."
5) Under "All Mail fields" add "In folder"
6) Select any email
7) Context-menu -> Find Related -> Emails in this Conversation
8) Select "more"
9) Sort by folder
10) Select all messages from Inbox.
11) Use Outlook's preset "Done" function and select a destination folder
12) Watch Outlook fail to run "Done" and reset your UI without producing an error.

The first attempt to resolve this issue was to set up a new Outlook profile. This seemed to exacerbate the problem and resulted in Outlook providing an "Unknown error" before resetting the UI.

The second attempt to resolve this issue was to run "outlook.exe /resetnavpane". However, the nav pane does not appear immediately relevant to this issue.

The following similar steps also result in a crash, this time with an error:

...
11) Flag all select message as Complete.
12) Move all messages from Inbox to a destination folder.

This change in procedure results in the error "Cannot move the items. Some items cannot be moved. They were either already moved or deleted, or access was denied."

Help me, Microsoft Community. You're my only hope.

Limit OWA 2013 access from the Internet to only a group of users

I need to limit access to OWA (Exchange 2013) from the Internet to a group of AD users. TMG would provide this feature, I used before, but is not an option for me anymore.

I'm not sure if Windows Server 2012 R2 Web Application Proxy using ADFS provides this feature, that says WAP does only preautentication. What I need is an authorization solution to OWA for users coming from the Internet. OWA on the intranet must remain allowed to all users.

Exchange server Plus CALs

Hi Guys,

I would like to have better understanding about CALs, for example: in an Exchange server (on-premise) environment, with 40 users mailboxes operating at the time, but but the Exchange server CALs covers only 5 user mailboxes.

What are the pros and cons, the issues to be encountered, etc.

Some of the clients are care about getting the remaining user/device CALs simply because is still working for them.

Thanks.

I have recently purchase a new PC which has Windows 8.1, and Outlook 2013, connected to an exchange 2010 SP3 RU4 server.

In the People pane, the for External clients, then this box populates correctly, but for internal domain users, it shows "There are no items to show in this view"

On my OLD PC using XP, and Outlook 2010, connected to the SAME account, then people pane shows correctly for all users.

Any help appreciated

Send and Receive Email from External Mail Server, OWA Disconnect !

Dear All,

I'm new to exchange and I've to 2 question, they might been asked before but in different ways. So please help me with a good practices.

Our company have 12 years external mail server "ABC.com" probably hosted in US, and we are facing quota limit.

Recently they asked me to deploy exchange on one of our server, I've a domain "ABC.ae" so I deployed exchange 2013 on windows server 2012R2.. The reason why we'll use the new mail, because we'll solve the limitation as well we'll use it internally. However we can not discard the existing one since our clients using it along time ago.

I need to receive all my email from ABC.com to ABC.ae and send from ABC.ae on behalf of ABC.com, like bridge or relay or whatever the name.. and I have no static IP and I'm not sure whether this is an issue or has related to this case

.......................

Also my OWA is working perfect and i tested internally email without any problem or delay, I've outlook 2013 with ABC.com account, when i add my exchange ABC.ae account it work fine for a couple of minute and then it disconnect from the server "TRY TO CONNECT TO EXCHANGE" if i remove the account and added it again it work fine also for a couple of minute and then disconnect.. I digged into that issue and I got several error logs and most of the error related to ResourceHealth and a lot of people talked about cumulative update and i installed CU3, most of the error/warning disappear except the 6002, and then someone told me to import certificate since you are using ssl maybe that will solve the problem and since i have no static IP even-though when i request a certificate from external provider it says host not found then maybe I'll deploy CA server and issue a certificate but if this will help

I did nothing but (adding ABC.com to the accepted domain along with the default ABC.ae, configure internet smtp * on send connector and created mailbox"

So please help me with a good practice

And so Sorry for the bad English

Thanks and Best regards

Can't import Certificates correctly

I have 2 cas servers and 2 mailbox servers.

I created a certificate on CAS01, with my CA server.  (cert request and completed, etc.)

I then exported that cert and am trying to import it on my other 3 exchange servers.

However when I do I get the error,

"A special Rpc error occurs on server CAS02: Cannot import certificate.  A certificate with the thumbprint xxxxxxx already exists."

xxxxx= the whole cert thumbprint.

if anyone knows what is causing this or how to fix, would be greatly appreciated.

New Accounts Not Using Default OWAMailboxPolicy

$

My clients have a policy where their users are not allowed to change their password via OWA.

So I've set the default Outlook Web App Policy to uncheck change password and set the owavirtualdirectory -changepasswordenabled to $false.

I then had to run a command to change the -OwaMailboxPolicy to "Default".  This works fine as our 5000+ users are now using the default policy.

The problem is that when we create a new user account and mailbox, the -OwaMailboxPolicy is blank, and it's not picking up the default policy.

InternalSmtpSettings                    :
OwaMailboxPolicy                        :
OWAEnabled                              : True
OWAforDevicesEnabled                    : True

I can manually change it after the account is created, but being that this client is a school district and their accounts are created on a regular basis, this isn't a good solution.

Does anyone know why a newly created mailbox doesn't automatically use the default "Outlook Web App Policy"?

Saving HTML-formatted e-mails with attachments as .MSG from Public Folder open as Rich Text (RTF)

I am looking for any insight into a problem with saving e-mail messages with attachments from my Public Folder structure. I can use "Save As"/.MSG on any HTML formatted e-mail with attachments in my personal Inbox and the .MSG file opens as an HTML-formatted message, as it should, with the attachment(s) showing in a line under the subject. However, within my Public Folder structure, when I use "Save As"/.MSG for an HTML-formatted e-mail with an attachment to save to my local desktop, the e-mail is saved with an Rich Text Message (RTF) message format, with the attachments showing inline with the body. We recently migrated to Office 365/Exchange 2013 from Exchange 2003 and this was not an issue prior to the migration. I have tested multiple on multiple Windows OS platforms (XP, 7, Server 2008) with multiple versions of Outlook (2007, 2010, 2013), and the results are the same. I have found nothing on the internet that even closely resembles what I'm experiencing. Please let me know if you need additional information. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks !!!

Is it possible to sync Outlook calendars located on two different Exchange servers?

We have two offices. Each office has an Exchange server. The two offices are completely separate from an IT and geographic perspective. People in office A have accounts on both A and B Exchange servers. People in office B have accounts only on their B server. We would like people from office A to have one calendar to manage with appoints from Exchange servers A and B. We would also like people from office B to see the free and busy times of people in office A. Is this possible?

How can I set OWA to use Public by default and hide that section from OWA?

$

I have an Exchange 2013 deployment that needs a customized OWA page.  I've already run Set-OwaVirtualDirectory "ex1\owa*" -LogonPagePublicPrivateSelectionEnabled $True to show the Public option.  I've also edited the logon.aspx file to set the checkbox to be unchecked by default.  My problem is I need to hide that entire line, I don't want users to see that section at all as if I never ran the above command.  When I was testing hiding it with <!-- --> it hid it but caused that piece to stop working as it went back to private.  Has anyone been able to accomplish this or can clue me in on how to do this?  Thank you in advance.

Outlook 2013 not properly indexing shared contacts

I'm having an issue where Outlook 2013 does not appear to be properly indexing most shared contacts. These contacts can be found using the "advanced find", but this is a bit cumbersome and not the desired solution since this is a feature we use to use very frequently in Outlook 2010 without issue. More details:

  • Account is Office365
  • Connected via domain
  • Contacts shared via GAB

An advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Error accessing ECP (Exchange admin center) cookie problem

When one (and only one) user tries to access Exchange admin center (https://mail.domain.com/ecp), they get the following:

error

Sorry, your request couldn't be completed. Try deleting the cookies from your browser, and then sign in again. If the problem continues, contact your helpdesk.

Well, they are the helpdesk. It doesn't matter the browser or the computer she tries to access it from, it always appears. She has deleted the cookies, etc. without resolution. She can, however, access https://mail.domain.com/owa without any problems.

Thanks,

Multiple owa sites on a single server 2012 with exchange 2013 (mailbox, cas)

$

hi,
I'm trying to set up an exchange server 2013 on windows 2012 with all roles installed for 2 owa virtual directory, one for integrated windows authentication and the other for forms-based authentication.I followed a tutorial for exchange 2010.

http://technicaljeditrials.info/2011/02/28/exchange-2010-multiple-owaecp-directories-part-1/

Step 1: IP Address

Obtain a second IP address and add it to the NIC of your server.

Step 2: DNS

Add a DNS entry for That secondary IP address for the name we will want to use in the new FBA OWA Web site.I have chosen "testwebmail." Be sure there is a valid SSL certificate (recommended to have UC or SAN SSL certs) on the server Which has the new name "testwebmail" that will be used in the certificate.

Step 3: New Web Site

Create a new web site in IIS on the Client Access Server and bind it to the new IP address used in step 1.

Step 4: Adding Exchange Virtual Directories

The web site has been created and bound to the secondary IP address of our server. Also the DNS record That will be used to access the OWA FBA new page was added to DNS.The next step is to go into EMS and begin adding our virtual directories for OWA and ECP.

Login to the Exchange server and open the Exchange Management Shell. Then run Get-Get-OWAVirtualDirectory and ECPVirtualDirectory to see the default OWA and ECP directories.

New-OWAVirtualDirectory -WebSiteName FBA -InternalUrl https://testwebmail.mylab.ad/owa

New-ECPVirtualDirectory -WebSiteName FBA -InternalUrl https://testwebmail.mylab.ad/ecp

Step 5: Configure the Virtual Directories

To configure the virtual directories we will disable FBA on the Default Web Site OWA and ECP virtual directories

Set-OWAVirtualDirectory -Identity "OWA (Default Web Site)" -WindowsAuthentication$true -BasicAuthentication $false  -FormsBasedAuthentication $false

Set-ECPVirtualDirectory -Identity "ECP (Default Web Site)"-WindowsAuthentication $true -BasicAuthentication $false  -FormsBasedAuthentication $false

Step 6: iisreset

now if I access the default site I log in with windows integrated authentication, but when I try to access the second site with forms authentication tells me username or password incorrect

Tell me you know where I'm wrong?

thanks

Greetings

Daniele

Exchange 2013, multiple IIS OWA sites with different authentication

$

Hi

I have an exchange 2013 server with Client Access and Mailbox server installed. The server has an second ip address which I have bound an additional IIS site to. The additional IIS site is named ExchangeExternalFBA.

The default web site is configured for basic and windows authentication with:
Set-EcpVirtualDirectory -identity "ecp (default web site)" -FormsAuthentication:$false
Set-owavirtualdirectory -identity "owa (Default Web Site)" -FormsAuthentication:$false -WindowsAuthentication:$true -BasicAuthentication:$true

Then a new ECP and OWA are configured with:
New-ecpVirtualDirectory -WebSiteName "ExchangeExternalFBA"
New-OwaVirtualDirectory -WebSiteName "ExchangeExternalFBA"
Set-owavirtualdirectory -identity "owa (ExchangeExternalFBA)" -LogonFormat FullDomain -FormsAuthentication:$true -WindowsAuthentication:$false -BasicAuthentication:$true
Set-EcpVirtualDirectory -identity "ecp (ExchangeExternalFBA)" -FormsAuthentication:$true

Then I perform an iisreset.

My problem is that then when I try to access the ECP or OWA on the default website, it loads forms authentication! The ECP or OWA on the ExchangeExternalFBA web site works correctly and also loads forms authentication.

If I run...
get-owavirtualdirectory "owa (ExchangeExternalFBA)"

then it returns:

InternalAuthenticationMethods                       : {Basic, Ntlm,
                                                      WindowsIntegrated}
BasicAuthentication                                 : True
WindowsAuthentication                               : True
DigestAuthentication                                : False
FormsAuthentication                                 : False
LiveIdAuthentication                                : False
AdfsAuthentication                                  : False
OAuthAuthentication                                 : False

If I then run

Set-EcpVirtualDirectory -identity "ecp (default web site)" -FormsAuthentication:$false
Set-owavirtualdirectory -identity "owa (Default Web Site)" -FormsAuthentication:$false -WindowsAuthentication:$true -BasicAuthentication:$true

and perform another iisreset then when I try to access the ECP or OWA on the default website it loads correctly. But then the forms based authentication on the ExchangeExternalFBA website can no longer log in, it does not accept the user name and password. If I then disable and enable FBA on the ExchangeExternalFBA website then it works but forms based authentication takes over the default web site again!

Whether I perform the above from the gui or from powershell it does not make a difference, the same behaviour is observed. Changing the logontype on the FBA does not make a difference.

This has been tested on exchange 2013 cu1 and cu2.

Similar(if not identical until they get sidetracked) issue reported in http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/exchange/en-US/9fcd360f-6658-4940-add7-2f13265cf86b/multiple-owa-sites-on-a-single-server-2012-with-exchange-2013-mailbox-cas.

This worked fine in outlook 2007 and 2010, why now do my virtual directories break each other?

I can reproduce the issue on a test exchange 2013 I built in dev.

Is this a bug or are you no longer meant to host different forms of authentication on a single cas?

I'm mostly interested to see if this works for other people and why it no longer seems to work in 2013, so please no questions; 'why do you want 2 different forms of authentication'.

Much appreciated, Thanks!

Recurring meeting in Outlook 2011 calendar but NOT on Exchange server (OWA) or iPhone

$

Macbook Pro w/Outlook 2011.  User has one (of many) recurring meetings he accepted (a weekly meeting) and it shows fine in his Outlook calendar (setup for Exchange).

This one recurring meeting does NOT show up on the users' iPhone or in OWA (meaning it is not on the Exchange server).

How can I get this one recurring meeting to sync (or at least get moved) to his calendar on the Exchange server so it can sync to his iPhone?

Asking the person who originated the meeting to re-invite is not an option.

Thank you.
