This seems to happen to one user, and then it clears up after a day or so. We've opened up tickets with Microsoft, but because the issue clears itself, the ticket gets closed until far into the future when it strikes again, but with someone else.
Client OS: Windows 7 x64 Ent.
Client: Outlook 2013
Server OS: Windows 2008 R2
Server: Exchange 2007 SP3
A user would not be able to open Outlook, getting an error similar to this (when not using cache mode):
"Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window. The set of folders cannot be opened. Microsoft Exchange is not available. Either there are network problems or the Exchange server is down for maintenance."
If the user already has it set to cache mode prior to the issue (already have an existing OST file), it would open up normally, but Outlook will state "Disconnected" on the bottom right corner.
Here are some of the troubleshooting steps we've tried:
1. Recreated Outlook profile.
2. Recreated Windows local profile.
3. Repaired Office
4. Uninstalled/Reinstalled Office.
5. Have user log into another PC (issue follows user).
6. Have different user logged into same PC that's exhibiting issue (different user is fine).
7. I was able to open and access the user's mailbox in my own Outlook, so not a corrupt mailbox.
8. User can log into OWA fine. Can also send/receive/access email on OWA fine.
9. User can still send/receive/access email on phone.
This is starting to sound like an issue with the Exchange server itself, but not sure where to look. I haven't found anything on Google that's similar to our issue - where the problem follows the user no matter what computer they use, so it's not a local profile or Outlook profile (since logging into a different PC would create a new local profile, as well a new Outlook profile).
Currently affecting one user as I type this. Any suggestions welcomed.
