This is really starting to annoy our users, so I hope someone has some advice. If an internal employee happens to have you in their Contacts (which happens a lot now with Suggested Contacts), when they send you an email your email address shows up as Joseph Blow (josephb@mycompany.com). This is fine, as you still get the message, but because Outlook + Exchange 2003 didn't bother to resolve the SMTP address to your Active Directory object, if you hit Reply All to the message you will also send the reply all to Joseph Blow (josephb@mycompany.com), so you'll get the reply as well!
So we could just tell everyone to check the To: line and delete themself, but that's not going to be enough. Another fix is to hunt down the sender and make sure they delete you from their Contacts and Suggested Contacts list, as well as the auto completes that pop up when you start typing in the To: box. This is obviously not a great option.
Has anyone else noticed this behavior? The key to it is that the original sender starts the chain of events. They need to have you in their Contacts so they don't do a GAL lookup and just use the SMTP address from the Contact for you.
