Move Message with Attachment from one Mailbox to another problem

$

Hi,

starting with Exchange 2013 we have following odd thing.

(That happens with Outlook 2010 aswell as Outlook 2013).

My mailbox has several other mailboxes mounted aswell. (using Full Access at ECP Settings), aswell as one separate Exchange Mailbox with own User/Password.

Now, when I have an Email with an attachment (like Word, .jpg, whatever), I used to move it to another mailbox by using "drag & drop".

The mail was moved to the mailbox without noticable changes.

Starting with Exchange 2013, the Mail is changed into Rich Text. That means, the attachment now appears somewhere within the message, instead as real attachment. Some attachments are also lost, and as the message was moved, the only way to recover it is using our external Email Archive.

Is this a bug, or didn't I see any option that results in this odd behaviour?

Moving to a different folder does work as expected, but not to another mailbox.

Thanks

Patrick

I can't create an email account in Outlook 2013 for my exchange server

Have tried many things on this issue.

I have a new tablet PC running Windows 8. I am able to connect to my Exchange Server account using Windows 8 Mail, no problem but when I have tried to set up an account for Outlook 2013 to connect to the same Exchange Server using exactly the same login information I cannot get it to connect. I simply get the message that the Exchange Server is unavailable.

I've been able to connect a variety of other devices to the same Exchange Server account without any problem - iPhones, Windows Phone, iPads, etc, etc all without problem. It's just this device and Outlook 2013 seems to be the issue. From checking various forums seems this is not an isolated issue but I've not been able to find a useful solution so far. Have deleted the user profiles and .ost files, switched off caching etc, all to no avail.

One key difference between the account information required by Windows Mail and Outlook is that in the Windows Mail system I am prompted to enter my domain information. I know this is critical from the information provided to me by our network administration team but there is nowhere in the Outlook account setup process where I can enter my domain info.

Closest I've been able to get to success is to use the manual account creation process and select the Exchange ActiveSync option - this gets me to the point where I'm prompted for my username and password info but it fails at this step because I am connected to a local domain (the domain account for the PC) and my user name and password are not accepted. There is nowhere in this login process that I can find where I can enter the correct domain info.

Any ideas on a solution would be very much appreciated - I use Outlook extensively in my work and whilst the Windows 8 Mail system is good, it doesn't have the level of functionality I need.

Many thanks

Wayne.

Attachments Moving after Moving Email from Exchange Mailbox to PST

$

A user with Office 2013 has an Exchange 2013 mailbox and moves some emails to an attached PST file. Attached documents in an email, such as a PDF,gets placed behind the senders email signature making the attachment impossible to open without clicking reply/forward and moving the email signature around. You are able to select the email, Click File, Click Save Attachment and access the PDF that way.

Steps Taken Thus Far:
Repaired Office 2013.
Removed Office 2013.
Cleaned the stale registry records on the workstation.
Re-installed Office 2013.
Downloaded & installed all Office 2013 updates.
Created a new PST file in a different location and moved email with an attachment to the new PST file.
Followed the same process of moving an email to a PST file when logged on as a different user account using a different mailbox.

Thank you for any suggestions in resolving this issue.

HI,

I have a small 50 user exchange server 2013 that was upgraded from exchange 2003. I uninstalled 2003 to update the schema and this allowed me to install exchange 2013.

The issue i'm facing is, OWA works perfectly and mailflow is ok, but the outlook clients can't connect, auto-discovery works well because the establish connection and search for address are check off bu fails on the logon server with a GUIID {GuID@domain.com} as the server name and a mailbox with =SMTP:user@domain.com

I cant figure out what's wrong, I can't enter the server netbios or dns name, I still get server not available

How do I stop Outlook from syncing fonts between PCs?

I have a user that is having trouble with 2 separate PCs that have the same outlook exchange account. If he changes the size or the font in the calendar on one machine, it will automatically sync it to his other machine as well. Is there a way to stop this?

Internal Outlook ask password after settings external Outlook Anywhere to Basic auth [Exchange 2013]

Hello..

We use Exchange 2013 and Outlook 2010/2013.

Exchange is set for Outlook Anywhere right this:

ExternalHostname: external.company.com

InternalHostname: internal.company.local

ExternalClientAuthenticationMethod: Basic

InternalClientAuthenticationMethod: Negotiate

IISAuthenticationMethods: {Basic, Negotiate}

We use Basic Auth for external Outlook Anywhere access because TMG is not domain-joined.

Connection from External is OK.

But Outlook in internal networks asking username and password,

immediately after Outlook starts.

Just cancel prompting window and Outlook connect to Exchange server normally.

Look at Outlook Conection Status it seems Outlook wants connect to external hostname too (not resolved by internal DNS) ... and ask for credentials

Is this by design?

Thanks

Karol

Hi all, I can't seem to figure out this issue, I'm currently moving old users from my old 2003 exchange to 2010 running on 2012 svr, some users I moved earlier can access owa fine but some newer moves can't.

I tried running the exch-connectivity test and I got some errors about http code 301 in IIS, here's 2 where one failed and the other was ok, any ideas or pointers would be great, thanks in advanced.

Self-signed certificate for Exchange 2007 on a Surface tablet

$

Good day,

I have a client whose is running Exchange 2007 server internally with their email infrastructure setup like this;

  * Their email sits on an external server mail.acme.com

  * Internal Exchange server (ExchangeServer.local) pulls email at time intervals frommail.acme.com

  * The internal server has a self-signed certificate for ExchangeServer.local , Cn=ExchangeServer

  * Email connections from smartphone (Android, iPhone and Blackberry) or external browser uses the Exchange server public ip address of77.88.200.100 (https://77.88.200.100/owa); The self-signed certificate is flagged and then accepted as a Trust Authority

The issue that I am experiencing is that I cannot add exchange email on the Surface Tablet even after importing the self-signed certificate ExchangeServer.My conclusion is that I would need a certificate for 77.88.200.100because the error that comes back when I tested it on Internet Explorer is a certificate mismatch with the website. If I am right, how do I go about  this or what am I missing if I am using self-signed?

I appreciate any help or direction to help. Thanks!

Outlook Error 0x8004010F) : 'Outlook data file cannot be accessed.'

Stuck with the cannot accessed error : Outlook data file cannot be accessed (error 8004010F)

What i am trying to do is map second outlook account (that a user has full permission to) to outlook 2010 and outlook 2013.

So user A has their account all setup in outlook i go to add new account via control panel, enter the other mailbox account info click next and all goes fine.

User can read the emails / fetch new emails , but when trying to send email they get error in their send rescive task

Tried this process :

http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/outlook/thread/cc45cb98-84a4-415d-9e71-4079287f13b6

To recreate outlook profile. It works the First time its launched, when user logsoff and comes back , it again starts complaining. I am assuming its not an exchange setting but rather something on outlook + exchange 2013 combined ?

Connecting to exchange 2013 from both outlook 2013 and 2010 gives same error, user is local admin as well on the machine where outlook is used.

 Hi,

I have a user using outlook 2010. He created a group with his vendor emails. Everytime he sends out email to the group, one particular recipient get kicked back all the time with the error

Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

      Subject:  xxxx

      Sent:     6/5/2013 11:05 AM

The following recipient(s) cannot be reached:

      XXXX on 6/5/2013 11:05 AM

            You do not have permission to send to this recipient.  For assistance, contact your system administrator.

            <our domain> #5.7.1 smtp;550 5.7.1 <recipient email>: Relay access denied.>

However, he can send email to this recipient individually just fine. Will anyone tell me why is this happening? Thanks in advance.

FYI, we have exchange server 2003, and client OS is windows 7 pro 64b

After migrating to Exchange 2012 my Outlook 2013 rules do not work

$

I recently migrated my Exchange 2010 box to Exchange 2012 (all updates required for co-existence have been applied) and since then my Outlook rules are not running automatically. (I have been using Outlook 2013 for a while so there wasn't a change in client after the migration.)

I have tried:

  • deleting and recreating the rule(s) that is used most often;
  • deleting all the rules and recreating just the one that is used most often;
  • deleting and recreating the same rule through OWA;
  • starting Outlook with /cleanrules and recreating the rule;
  • turning off Cached Exchange Mode.

None of this has worked and the rule simply does not run automatically but it will run fine when run manually.

Any ideas?

New Mail Notification (Envelope icon in taskbar) does not go away

$

I have Office 2013 on Windows 7 and have noticed the following behavior in Outlook:
- New mail arrives in my Inbox
- Envelope icon appears on the Outlook icon in the taskbar
I now read the email on another device
- The email is automatically marked as read on the first machine
- The envelope icon persists in the taskbar
The only way to get rid of the icon is to either toggle a mail from read to unread and back to read or if I get another email and read it on the machine that has the icon

This behavior causes a lot of false positives when reading emails on two machines.

Note: I raised this issue on the MS community forums and they were able to reproduce it. I have added the link below. I am posting it here based on feedback I received there.

inbound mail is a draft message

I can't seem to find any info in regards to this issue. We just migrated a client's exchange to 2013 and they received all new systems. One of the issues they seem to be having is something I have never seen. The user will receive an email, both from internal and external addresses and the Icon in the inbox will show it as being a Draft. When they open the email it shows everything normally but the response section is missing in the ribbon. IE: Reply FWD so forth. They can reply from the Inbox by right clicking the mail. I have screen shots but no url to link them from. Any help would be great.

Exchange Server 2013 / Outlook 2010 on Win7 PC

When cached mode is on:

Problems with sending Mails. They (sometimes) don't go out. Problems accessing shared calendars. Some work, some don't. Error messages while trying to make new entries.

With OWA, everything works fine.

Turning cache mode off, everything works fine but the Instant Search function is no longer working. Trying to search a contact in my contacts folder fails.

Recreating the OST helps for a short time but same problems show up after a short time.

How come that such basic functions don't work??

Thanks for any help on this

Mailbox can be logged on to in OWA 2013, but not shown up when connecting in Outlook

$

I migrated a couple of mailboxes from Exchange 2010 to 2013 (co-existing in the same forest).

All mailboxes work and can be connected to via OWA. But when trying to connect a specific mailbox in outlook, it cannot be connected. That is, when clicking Check Name, the specific mailbox doesn't show up, while other (test) mailboxes do. What can be the reason of this?

I'm sure I have full access on this mailbox.

The mailboxes that aren't working are in a differen (global) address book. I have a vague idea this can be the issue in this case...
