Outlook is not connecting office 365 hybrid , after Migrate user to office 365

HI ALL,

Recently we've done a office 365 exchnage hybrid. Users can conect perfectly with outlook,OWA and with his iphone clients.from external network.

But the problem is they can't connect from his Outlook clients (2010, 2013), both internaly (AD Network). 

From my AD Network i can access https://autodiscover.asdgroup.mail.onmicrosoft.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml

Hi

The title is a quick summary of the situation.

Exchange 2013 server running with no obvious errors.
Services all up as usual.
I can see mail arriving (I use a third party utility to pick-up from remote server and then pass on to Exchange) and being transferred.
Clients (Outlook 2013 or 2019) all say the are connected to server and up to date - but nothing has arrived or been sent since 31st Dec.
Internal mail is also failing.

I updated the server it lives on on 31st Dec, so initial thought was 'bad update'. I uninstalled those updates - no luck.
Tried with different clients (Outlook, Mail, eM client) and different protocols (ActiveSync, OWA, IMAP) - no luck.
Currently migrating mailboxes from old Db to new, in case of corruption.

Any help or ideas would be appreciated...

Hi folks.  i've spent most of my Xmas holiday online trying to fix this with no joy.  Would be so grateful if someone could help.

The problem:

some time ago i stopped receiving emails to both my outlook and my ntlworld email accounts (which i use on a PC with Windows 10), IF they contained photo files.  I don't know how long ago this started as it took a while to realise given that these emails weren't arriving, but it was sometime within the last year.  It was only when i realised that the emails withpictures that i was sending from my phone to my PC were not arriving -  that i started checking it out, and having done a zillion tests from a zillion devices, there is no doubt that emails with picture files are not being received by either email account.  pdfs, word docs etc seem fine.  My phone is synced and its outlook isn't receiving the messages with pics either. 

i tried to send myself a photo from my PC to my PC yesterday, and that worked. But no photos will arrive if sent from my phone, partner's phone, etc.  How can that be?  I can't seem to find any windows settings that would prevent pictures coming in.

i have checked trust centre, all blocked, junk, etc email, anti virus, troubleshooting, etc settings.  Literally spent hours on microsoft office help.  Have reinstalled office, taken settings back to default.  nothing working.  

there is no message failure/server rejection message for any of these messages i can't receive - i have sent pics home from many devices now and none bounce back.

the only two things i've done in the past year are set up an outlook account and get a new phone which i synched it on.  Both my outlook and ntl accounts are synced.  i have signed in and out of outlook many times.  

Any ideas pleeeeease?????

Random missing from fields in list view of Outlook.

I have a shared mailbox in Exchange that has missing from fields in the list view of Outlook. You have to double-click them to see who it's from and it seems to be random because some are okay but others are not. Any suggestions on how to fix this I would appreciate it.

Outlook not connecting to exchange when on VPN

I have a situation where my users are having intermittent problems connecting to exchange 2013 using outlook when on VPN.

We use anyconnect VPN for connecting to the corporate network. I suspect there is some issue with drives mapping that makes it difficult for outlook to access the credential store for authentication, but I cannot be sure.

We also have skype for business which connects fine on wifi but asks for credential. When you supply the credentials, 90% of the time, skype and outlook work perfectly. Users have a problem with this situation since they are used to connecting directly to both skype and outlook when in the office and dont want to have to input their passwords again.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Presence icon missing in Outlook 2013 and 2016

Hi all,

some of our users are experiencing issue with missing presence icon on the left side:

They do not see this icon, only user name. Presence is working fine if we hover over the name and contact card shows up. In OWA it is also working as expected.

Tried both Outlook 2013 and 2016 with same issue. Disabled and also enabled hardware acceleration without any help.

If same account is logged in on another pc, it works fine so it is local issue.

I suspect it is because the issue pc has 4k monitor, we tried different DPI and screen resolution without any help. Even external monitor in difference size has this issue.

Tried GFX driver from pc manufactor, Windows update and also GFX provider without any help.

Seems like this is a known issue from earlier client:

This registry did not help since path shown in the link does not exist. (Common\PersonaMenu and Common\IM).

Does anyone have a workaround for this?

Computer is brand new and it is an annoying bug, since our users have to hover to see their presence.

How to convert vcf to something that xls can read ?

Hello everyone - I have a group (too many to type easily) of contacts in a vcf file contacts. I want to export it as a csv (comma separated value) so that I can import it into the new donor database. Here is my problem: I can not export the file from Contacts in csv format. Does anyone know a clever way to reformat the vcf file into a csv file?

Meeting request changes recovery

Hi,

I opened a meeting request (which I created and distributed to attendees).  I started typing notes under each agenda item and left it open for several hours (so assuming it would have been stored in drafts somehow).  I then closed the meeting request instead of minimising and accidentally selected don't save.... :(

Is there any way that I can recover what was stored in drafts before I selected don't save?  Any assistance will be greatly appreciated as it was many, many hours of work that went into it.

Mailrule not visible in Outlook/Exchange but used by Mailrouting

Hi,

I have a really strange problem.

User 1 is receibing an email which is automatically forwarded to an other mail adress which is not longer available so the user is getting an unable to deliver.

I try to find a fwd rule in Outlook, OWA, Exchange.. there is no rule. No Transport rule in Exchange.. Nothing. 

When I check the Message tracing I can see that the message is forwarded by a Mailboxrule (Source) and I can see in SourceContext field an ID which seems to be an ID from a Mailboxrule (177222867XXXxXX) but there is no rule matching the idea when I check the Users rule via EMS.

Hopefully anybody has an idea how to find and delete this strange rule..

Cannot display the folder. Network problems are preventing the connection to Exchange

Getting this message in the big pane in the Office 365 Outlook client, which is v16 I believe.

The user is trying to view Public Folders when this message shows in the big center pane instead of the items.  He can view their "Shared Folders" mailbox, which is regular user mailbox, not a shared mailbox.  He has "owner" permission to this Public Folder.  Another user who has no assigned permissions to the Public Folder can open everything and see the items.

I should add that he can browse the folder structure, he just can't view the items.  "Download shared folders" is unchecked because the mailbox is too big and maxes out the pst/ost file size cap of ~50GB.

Everywhere I search I get the usual suggestions.  I've tried them all:

Reboot Exchange 2013 server

Rename or delete ost.

Create new profile

Run ScanPST  (tried before deleting ost).  It found errors and repaired.  No change.

Online Office 365 repair

There must be something I'm missing here.  Maybe something simple.

OWA "unexpected error occurred..." when user logs in

Exchange 2013 on premise in a 4 server DAG cluster. OWA works fine for all except 1 mailbox. User receives these messages after logging in:

something went wrong

An unexpected error occurred and your request couldn't be handled.

X-OWA-Version: 15.0.1076.14

Yes, we are behind on CUs. We're also working on moving to Office 365, hybrid server up and running, etc.

Which, I think, is related to the issue with this mailbox. It was migrated up to O365, then required to be moved back to on premise. The mailbox moved fine both ways, no errors reported. The mailbox opens fine with Outlook, but on premise OWA is now throwing the error after the user logs in (authentication works).

I'm hoping/guessing that it's something that did or didn't get updated/changed/cleared when the migration back to on premise took place. Just clueless as to where to look.

I told the user we could export it to a PST, then delete and recreate the mailbox, see if that fixed it. No response to that yet. Any help is appreciated.

How to force users log on via another mapi url

Dear TechNet,

in my job i got the task to force specific users log on via a different url than we set in our virtual directories. We are using split dns for the mapi virtual directory and set the same values for external and internal. My companies problem is that some customers got very slow vpn connections to our data centre and are using our dns servers. It would be too easy if they upgrade their vpns but they don't want to because of several reasons. The main problem is they can resolve the internal ip of the domain. Their complete Outlook traffic would go through their vpns tunnels and slow it even more down. My idea is to force the mailboxes of these customers to an only via internet available domain (publish an dns record just in the public dns zone of our domain). Currently we are using Exchange 2013 but are upgrading to 2019 soon.

Disable automatic calendar event in outlook 2013 or 2016 running on Exchange 2013

Our users are having travel invites and emails automatically sync to their calendar which is causing clutter and conflicts.
How can we disable this from automatically happening and set it to manual?

We have seen a guide to do this on office 365 by adjusting "automatically add events to my calendar" but this option is not there(unless it moved?) as we are running on premises exchange enterprise 2013 ver 15.1104.5 and clients are using mostly office suite with outlook 2013 or 2016.

How can we change this settings either on the client side or exchange server side?


Email color category changes will not save, Outlook 365

I can rename an existing color, and create a new one, and these changes will display in the Categorize pulldown and the Categories field until I close Outlook.  Once I open Outlook again, all renames and new categories are gone and the standard 6 colors are shown.  The only residual remaining from the changes I made previously is that any new name I assigned remains in the Categories field, but no color, and no name in the pulldown.  How can I save these changes so they'll be available the next time I open Outlook?
