Calendar appointments sync problems

Hi,

The company I work for has 300 users. Environment exists of Exchange 2013 server with update CU22 and Outlook 2010 clients on a Windows 2016 server with Citrix Xenapp 7.16.

Users experience problems with calendar appointments on regular bases. When they create one and invite some colleagues and a shared calendar for example, it could be that the invitation doesn't show up in some of the calendars. This problem does not always occur.

Users also complain about not being able to accept an appointment invitation, or unable to delete an appointment. Sometimes using OWA to delete an appointment does work.

What could cause this behaviour?

I looked into the eventlogs. In the application log I see eventide 2002 popping up a lot. Could this cause the problems?

I will fix this warning later this week. Office 2010 will be upgraded later this year.


Free busy not working on One of the Exchange server

Hi we were asked to work on an issue where we found for some users free busy isn't working at all. However it is not the case for all. Checking further we found it is only one of Exchange servers where the mailbox is hosted are having free busy lookup issue.

We put the server in maintenance mode, moved all database and mailboxes to other servers and issue was fixed for them. We rebooted the problematic server in question but still the issue isn't fixed. I have moved back one of the database back to the server and free busy issue still exists. Any idea, what could be the problem and where we should look at?

Accessing Options under owa - Error 500

 Though the users are able to login to owa and access their mails but when they try to access Options the web page errors with Error 500 !

Autodiscover/automapping woes at mid 2010 to 2016 migration

Hi,

We are at the mid-point in a 2010 to 2016 migration.  We have both environments up, and all clients are pointing at the new 2016 CAS servers, and proxying back to the 2010 CAS servers if their mailbox has not yet been migrated.

We have had some issues with autodiscover, where one user in particular could not even get Outlook 2016 to connect to their mailbox.  Switching from this to version 1905 of O365 corrected that, but then we had further problems where Outlook 365 would keep finding the wrong mail server.  We use Fusemail for external mail filtering, so if you look up our mail domains MX records it will point to theirs.  Outlook seemed to be doing this and I could find no way to stop it, short of putting in firewall rules to block it from all Internet access. Then it worked.

We then discovered some seemingly random issues related to shared mailboxes that will not automap them.  I switched the user back to Office 2016, fully patched it and got autodiscover to work, but the shared mailbox issue persisted.  About half of the mailboxes where the user had FullAccess rights mapped but the rest do not.  You cannot manually open them either using "Open other users folder", but it works perfectly in OWA, where you switch user, so it doesn't appear to be a simple permissions problem, rather another facet of our autodiscover issues.

We are running Exchange 2016 Cumulative Update 12.

Calendar Share Greyed Out

We have a shared calendar that I need to add a user to. The option to share is greyed out. Exchange Server 2010, Outlook 2010 and 2013 (Same issue for me and another user. I have 2013, they have 2010). My account is set to "Owner" under the calendar Permissions properties.

I've tried it with "outlook.exe /safe" and that didn't do anything. It was suggested in this thread to "Also check full permission given on that mailbox to 'Self'." What does that mean?

What else can I do?

Outlook.com contacts sync correctly, but remove favorites in Android phone app

After synchronization of outlook.com contacts, the favorites on Android Phone app get reset back to most recently called.  This does NOT happen when the primary contact synchronization source is GMail.

Outlook 2016 Calendar Sharing Full/Private Calendar Details Inadvertently

Outlook 2016 Calendar is inadvertently sharing full calendar details in a few cases.  I verified the calendar permissions settings are set to default.   The permission level is set to share Free/Busy times only (and not full calendar details).

For example, Bill has added calendars from 10 other employees to his calendar view.  Bill can only view Free/Busy calendar items from 8 of the 10 employees.  However, Bill can see full/private calendar details from Sue and Mae's calendars even though Sue and Mae are Not sharing full details of their calendars with Bill.  I've confirmed Sue and Mae calendar permissions are set to share Free/Busy times only and that they have not added custom rules to allow Bill to see full details of their calendars. 

Why is this anomaly happening?  Thank you for any help!

Forgot .pst password in Outlook

Microsoft says they can't help.  I've looked at recovery tools you buy but they don't come highly recommended and many seem to be a ripoff.  HOW oh HOW can I find my password???  I accidentally deleted my database.  Nice lady at Microsoft got it back but I can't get INNNN!!!  Oh NOOOOO!!!!!

Cannot sync or access OWA from our Wireless Subnet

Good day,

l am trying to resolve a problem that is related to accessing OWA and syncing Outlook when connected to our Corporate Wireless Network. What is strange is l can access other services that are on the same network/subnet as the Exchange servers, it's just access Exchange 2013 that is failing.

Our Corporate Wireless network is on a different subnet/IP range, so l am not sure if there is somewhere on Exchange that l need to Whitelist the Wireless network. 

The setup is as follow:

1. 3 Exchange Servers, that are sitting behind a Load Balancer. Outlook Clients connect to the Load Balancer and not directly to the Exchange Servers 

Any assistance or pointers will be greatly appreciated to try and resolve the issue. As l mentioned all other services and applications are accessible except Exchange.

Outlook will not connect to microsoft exchange server.

error mesagge  Task 'namehere@msn.com - Sending' reported error (0x80040115) : 'We can't complete this because we can't contact the server right now. Please try again later.' keeps coming up.

OWA End-User Changed Timezone Location - How to ?

I've just changed location Time-zone, but I don't know where in the OWA Web Interface to change to my new Time-zone. All my meeting invites are still in Korea Standard Time and now I'm in PST. Please help. Thank you in advance.

Not receiving certain emails in PDF Form

We are currently using Outlook. When someone sends us emails containing PDF attachments some are received and some aren't.

I have checked the SPAM folder and this is empty.

issue with appointments after corrupt mailbox and assigning new mailbox to user

So I have a user who's mailbox is corrupted. Exported mail, disabled the mailbox. Then I made a new mailbox, assigned Legacy Exchange DN value. (with same x.500 mail adres) in exchange and assigned this mailbox to the user. Imported his mails.

So far so good! Everything is working well.. Exept an issue with his old Appointments, which he is using a lot as repeating appointments: Whenever there is a change in a appointment the appointment will not update to him.

I guess because this is a new mailbox? but entering a Legacy Exchange DN value should fix this?

What is the best way to proceed?

Mailbox keeps prompting for password

I'm hoping somebody might be able to assist me in finding an issue.

I've 2 mailboxes that, starting last month, intermittently request a password when using Outlook 2013 or 2016.

Both these mailboxes are in addition to the users main mailboxes, which don't prompt for details.

I've not been able to find anything wrong with the mailbox and Exchange reports the mailbox and database in good health.

This only seems to affect users that have a second mailbox on their profile, or in our case the users are given full access to the mailbox so it appears in their folder list within Outlook.

What's strange is, that we ignore the message or cancel it, you can still get to the mailbox.  If you decided to enter your domain credentials in, you're prompted to enter them 4 times.  Now, this could be a coincidence but we have 4 domain controllers so I wondered if it Outlook is trying to authenticate to each of those.

I've reset the password, removed the Windows Credentials (via Control Panel) and also re-created Outlook profiles, all have no affect.

I'm open to suggestions if anybody has any, please.  :o)

Track login location, phone wipe logs

Exchange 2013.

Is there a way in OWA or the management console to track where an account was logged into OWA from and a way to track if a remote wipe of a phone was used?

Outlook 365 Authenticater app issue

Hi,

I had configured Authenticater app in my mobile using QR code for approval .unfortunately I am  uninstalled the app from my device.Now after installiing again I didn't able to view/scan my QR code from my system to configure with my mobile.

Can't send Outlook Invites

When I send an outlook calendar invite to a particular out of office recipient, it appears in her inbox as random characters, without the calendar invite.  I am able to send and receive outlook invites to other users and she can receive them from other out of office people.
