Outlook 365 and Exchange 2010

HI Team,

I have 1 mailbox that when a user logs into "any" PC, when I configure their Outlook 365 profile for my Exchange 2010 server, it will not connect.  Basically the error is that the name cannot be matched to a name in the address list.  it fails at the last point of testing the profile "logging on to the mail server".  I did clear the credential manager entry's.

but.... It does work for when I configure an Outlook 2010 profile on my RDP 2008 server.

and...  If I log into my PC as me, I can setup the users Outlook 365 mailbox profile using their credentials.

Any help would be great...!

OWA login loop

Hi.

We recently change or mail adresses from @example1.com to @example2.com, and renewed the certificate from Comodo, and all seems to work fine meaning Outlook internal and external same goes for Skype.

But OWA, ECP is doing login loop, I have read and followed many articels, but came up with same anoying login loop. I have discovered if I change the certificate from COMODO to "Microsoft Exchange Server Auth Certificate" I will get a site not secure warning, with I accept and then OWA works, but of course hell breaks loose on all clients not trusting our Exchange server certificate.

We are running Exchange server 2013 CU21 but had the problem before we upgraded to from CU5 recently.

One other thing is, that we have Office 365 clients connecting to the server, not that I think that has anything to do with out current issue.

Hope you guys have some good idea´s I am lost. :(

I couldn't remember the password and hence I reset it from my laptop. the app on my app is not accepting the newly updated password for some reason despite me changing the password a few times to resolve the issue. what should I do? I am certain the password I am entering is correct

folder permission changes when sharing task

Hi,

I am trying to share a task folder with four different people in outlook 2016.  I have set their permission level for that folder in the task area.  Two of the people are authors and two of the people are reviewers.

the problem I run into is when I am sharing the folder with all of them, it changes all their permission level to reader (view only)

Why is this happening?  Can I send it that way and go into the folder again after it is sent and change the permission level back to what I had firs set it to be.  If I am changing it after does it also change on their end.

Please help.

Thanks,

Jason

Office 365 Outlook autoforwarding emails not working

I am running Office 365 through GoDaddy and have access to the Microsoft Exchange Admin Center. I have an Outlook 2013 64-bit desktop client as well. I am trying to configure a rule to autoforward emails that match a criteria set from my inbox to a recipient.

Using the Microsoft Exchange Admin Center I am able to:

  • Redirect emails from one user to another
  • Forward messages to other users for approval

However, there isn't an option to forward a message from the recipient to another user here.

As an alternative I configured a mail flow rule in both my desktop client and outlook.com client to autoforward emails in my inbox to recipients. I also added an action to move a copy of the message to one of the folders in my inbox. I know the rule is firing because the copy of the message is moved to the inbox folder, but the message is never forwarded to the intended recipient.

I've already went to Exchange Admin Center > Mail Flow > Remote Domain > Default, and "Allow Automatic Forwarding" is already checked. I've already looked online but the only solution I've found is the one I've already tried.

Does anyone know what the issue might be?

exchange2013, wildcard, outlookanywhere, tmg

Hi crew.

EXCHANGE 2013 (all roles, no DAG, no edge server); published thru TMG (basic auth, LDAP set for authentication)

Outlook anywhere on exchange has internal address: exchange-fqdn.domain.local
Outlook anywhere on exchange has external addres: mail.domain.com

If we change internal addres to be the same as external, then outlook clients are unable to connect externally.
They get a pop up for credentials window but authentication is not accepting right credentials.

Why can't we have the same address for internal/external outlook anywhere while published thru TMG?

question 2:
We wanted to implement wildcard address but it does not work in our scenario while we need to stay with internal outlook anywhere address (domain.local) and our cert is *.domain.com.

Please advise.

With best regards

Outlook 2007 - Why is this working??

Dear folks,

We are migrating from Exchange 2010 to 2016.

During a transition in test environment from Exchange 2010 to 2016, I am very surprised to see an Outlook 2007 Client connecting happily to Exchange 2016, even after decommissioning all 2010 servers.

We were under the impression that Outlook 2010 with KB2965295 is the minimum client that is supposed to work, but here I have a 2007 client connecting happily to a 2016 mailbox via HTTP/RPC (sry, the 2k7s are all foreign language installs):

Image may be NSFW.
Clik here to view.

So my question is basically what is the catch here? Is this "luck" due to some special configuration or something?

What's the catch??

The only thing I could find was this article, the poster is in the same situation as us; short term 2007 until we upgrade clients to new OSes too

OWA URL Parameters for Search Results

Hi, I'm looking to inject a search variable into an OWA URL... just wondering if someone can help with the syntax

https://<server name>/owa/?cmd=contents&fpath=inbox%2fprojects
This opens OWA to the projects subfolder of my inbox successfully
I'd like to take it a step further and search that inbox for any messages that have "pizza" in the body text

How could I add to this url so that I'm taken directly to those search results ?

Outlook 2010 - says server is unavailable and won't load

I lost my previous computer and bought a new HP with Windows 10.  I installed Office 2010 which included outlook.  The other portions of Office 2010 work perfectly but NOT Outlook.  It won't load - states "the server is unavailable" when it isn't unavailable and I can't access it.

PLEASE HELP!

User Mailbox not working on a single PC Outlook 2016

Hi, I've this annoying problem on a mailbox since yesterday. The user was outside the company. Outlook prompted for password and user insert a wrong username. After that he noticed that and put on the right username and password. No more working. Outlook in offline mode and a warning on opening telling that "the mailbox was moved to another place on exchange server" choose if open an old version or work offline.

Now, that are the steps i've tried.

- entering in owa with username and password (changed today) is working

- configured account on another pc with outlook 2016 is working

on that pc if i create a new profile it continuously prompt for user and password telling that are wrong!! so tried to

- remove all credential from credential manager, didn't worked

- remove all profiles from mail outlook 2016 in control panel and create only the new, didn't worked

- repaired office 2016 installation and tried another time, didn't worked.

- renamed AD user and resetted another time password didn't worked

- create a new user and disconnect mailbox from old and attached to new doesn't works (owa works perfectly)

The thing that drive me crazy is that if i create a new mailbox and configure on that outlook it works immediately!

Checked also if account is disabled or mailbox reached quotas..nothing...all it's ok, it seems that that pc doesn't want no more that mailbox! tried also to make a new user profile in windows! same behaviour...finished ideas...if you've something new...

Thank you.

Online archive migration issue - massive duplication

Hi there,

I have an online archive mailbox on my exchange that went from 150Gb to 390Gb when I tried to migrate it to a new mailbox database. The migration process seemed to be duplicating emails within the mailbox multiple times while migration it - most emails have copied themselves 20 or more times. This was causing the migration job to prolong as the mailbox was getting bigger and bigger. I stopped the migration job which stopped the duplication. Very strange indeed.

My question to you is - what would be the best was of removing all these duplicates from within the mailbox. Short of going through and removing them all manually (which would be a colossal task) I don't know what to do.

Appreciate any advise you can give,

Stuart.

Cannot set up Outlook with Exchange mailbox

I have one user in the organization, suddenly has lost connection to his mailbox. When we try to create a new outlook profile, we are presented with a message that reads "The action cannot be completed. The name cannot be matched to a name in the address list."
If I try to configure his Outlook profile manually, I get, "Log onto Exchange ActiveSync mail server (EAS): The server cannot be found."

The user is not hidden from address lists.  The user passes the Outlook active sync in the Exchange connectivity analyzer.  Office has been repaired.  Windows credentials in credential manager have been removed.

Outlook 2016 Missing Emails

I am using Outlook 2016 and seem to have lost all emails from the last 2 months. I can see them in Mail but not Outlook. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Accepted Meeting invitation request mails getting deleted upon acceptance in Outlook.com or office 365 accounts from the web browser

The Outlook invitation request mails get deleted from the Inbox of the recipient mail accounts in each of the following scenarios on Outlook.com calendar or office365 calendar accounts:

1.) when the invite acceptance is done on the web browser after opening the email on outlook.com; or

2.) when the invite acceptance is done on the web browser after opening Outlook calendar on outlook.com; or

3.) when the invite acceptance is done on the native calendar app of iOS or any other Calendar app like Google Calendar.

4.) when the invite acceptance is done from the Email portion of Outlook mobile app for iOS.

The above auto deletion scenario happens even if the option for "Delete Invitations and Responses that have been updated" has been disabled on the settings of outlook.com on the web under https://outlook.live.com/owa/?path=/options/calendarprocessing.

The case when the deletion of email invites does not happen is:

1.) when the invite acceptance is done on a desktop outlook client with the auto deletion option disabled in the desktop outlook client configuration under File> Options> Mail.

2.) when the invite acceptance is done from the "Calendar" portion of Outlook client app for iOS.

Kindly advise if it is possible for Microsoft to ensure that the add an option on the web version of Outlook.com for disabling auto deletion actually works and a similar provision is made for Calendar apps like iOS or Google Calendar.

outlook email

suddenly (today) when I send an email this appears in the senders name area instead of my normal email id /O=FIRST ORGANIZATION/OU=EXCHANGE ADMINISTRATIVE GROUP(FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)/CN=RECIPIENTS/CN=0003000001426F42  - can you tell me how to resolve this please and return to normal?

Email invites getting deleted upon acceptance even after disabling the option for delete invitations that have been updated

The Outlook invitation request mails get deleted from the Inbox of the recipient mail accounts in each of the following scenarios on Outlook.com/ Office 365 Exchange calendar accounts:

1.) when the invite acceptance is done on the web browser after opening the email on outlook.com or owa accounts; or

2.) when the invite acceptance is done on the web browser after opening Outlook calendar on outlook.com or owa; or

3.) when the invite acceptance is done from the Email portion of Outlook desktop client or Outlook mobile app for iOS by clicking accept buttons inside the email body; or

4.) when the invite acceptance is done on the native calendar app of iOS or any other Calendar app like Google Calendar configured as Exchange accounts.

The above auto deletion scenario happens even if the option for "Delete Invitations and Responses that have been updated" has been disabled on the settings of outlook.com on the web under https://outlook.live.com/owa/?path=/options/calendarprocessing.

The situation when auto deletion of email invites does not happen is:

1.) when the invite acceptance is done in a desktop outlook client with the auto deletion option disabled in the desktop outlook client configuration under File> Options> Mail.

2.) when the invite acceptance is done from the "Calendar" portion of Outlook client app for iOS.

This implies that the configuration for disabling auto-delete is not working on outlook.com or owa Exchange servers and is just a cosmetic feature with no consequence.

Kindly advise if it is possible that the option on the web version of Outlook.com or owa for disabling auto deletion actually disables the auto-deletion of mails instead of being just a cosmetic feature with no effect of working, and a similar provision is made in Outlook.com for the Calendar apps like iOS Calendar or Google Calendar to access outlook.com and not delete the event invitation emails upon acceptance.
