Outlook 2010 Sync Issue -- Named Property 0x859C0102

Friends:

Our users are getting sync error messages.

We are running Office 365 with Outlook 2010.

I have reprinted the entire sync notice below, but basically Outlook is finding a conflict in Named Property 0x859C0102.  I understand that this may be related to junk mail when Cached Exchange Mode is turned off.  (Our users do NOT have Cached Exchange Mode turned off for their main email accounts but they do have it turned off for the Shared folder that everyone accesses.)

Does anyone know of a solution to this problem?

Micah

Outlook 2013 Exchange 2013 issue with two computers

Hello all,

I have this really annoying issue that I cannot seem to pinpoint the cause/reason for it.  We manage a single Exchange server with around 300 user mailboxes.  This is affecting only one user.  Here is the scenario:

User has a desktop computer with Windows 7 Professional and Outlook 2010. User has also a laptop with Windows 10 and Outlook 2013. If Outlook on the desktop is open the laptop cannot connect to the Exchange server (0x8004011D present in Outlook when performing an Update Folder).  As soon as the desktop closes Outlook, BAM! Outlook 2013 on the laptop works without issue.

Steps taken so far:

  • Re-create mail profiles on both the desktop and laptop which also re-created OST files
  • Fully patch Office and Windows on the laptop
  • Tried using office 2010 on the laptop prior to Windows 10 upgrade and Office 2013 upgrade - same deal.
  • Disabled all interfaces except for WLAN adapter
  • Opened Outlook with the /rpcdiag flag to view connections which show it trying but immediately terminating it (like a blink of an eye kind of thing) until of course the desktop client is closed and then it makes and keeps the connections

I am open to any and all troubleshooting you all can provide.  Thanks!

Mapi over HTTP issue

Hi all!

Hope somebody can help me out. In my test lab, where I`m experimenting with Exchange 2013 SP1 and Outlook 2013 SP1 I came across very annoying thing.

Let me explain a little bit more about config that worked.

Outlook 2013 connected to Exchange 2013 via RPC over HTTPS is working great actually really great. I have created my own certs and imported ROOT CA cert to all of my machines and things are working peachy. As part of my plans for 2014 I have to test and deploy MAPI over HTTP sometime at the end of 2014 in our company (and migrate fromEX2007 but this is different story).

OK so I`ve enabled MAPI over HTTP on my test server and configured 5 virtual machines with different accounts to test things out. Started Outlooks, accepted "Your administrator has made change ....." prompts and here we go, I`m connected MAPI/HTTP and all works really great.

Except for one thing. When it does connect, things are super fast and it works as it should. But sometimes it does not connect right away and it is sluggish in performance. Also Outlook is missing "Quick steps" menu, see attached image:

I restarted all servers, clients, clean Outlook install nothing helps.

When RPC/HTTPS I could quit and start Outlook 10 times and it worked 10/10 without problems.
When MAPI/HTTP I restart outlook and it works 6/10, so 4 times I get messed up Outlook and very poor performance.

Any idea where to start troubleshooting? Maybe Outlook has a bug or 2 with this mode?
Server is correctly sized and backed up by enough of memory and CPU, mailboxes have 100-3500 items in them.
Again, RPC/HTTPS works every time without any problem.
MAPI/HTTP works lets say 6 times without any prolem at all and really works great but 4 times out of 10 it makes me want to throw it away :)

If someone knows best way to troubleshoot this one, please let me know.

Regards,

G

External Clients won't connect to Exchange and get an error that "An Encrypted Connection was Unavailable"

$

We have a bizarre problem. An ASA firewall was replaced by a Meraki and the rules were all set up based on the old ones. All exchange services work except external clients can't connect to exchange getting an error that "An Encrypted Connection was unavailable". Internal clients can connect and create the profile without issues. It seemed like there was an issue with Autodiscover, but I can hit the AutoDiscover URL from an external browser and it authenticates and gives the normal XML message.  Also, the Microsoft Remote Connectivity Analyzer doesn't show any errors. OWA works fine as well. Using Fiddler, it appears the HTTPS handshake is failing when the client tries to connect to exchange.  It just doesn't make sense, but perhaps my understanding of how the client connects to exchange is not as good as I thought. Any help would be greatly appreciated. We do have a case open with MS, but they don't have an idea of what could be wrong yet.

Thanks,

Steve

How do I disable the function that allows text messages appearing on my inbox?

"Your meeting was found to be out of date and has been automatically updated."

$

Hello, one of our users is stating that when they make changes to meeting dates and/or times, a few minutes to a day later, the changes revert to the original date and/or time. Additionally, they will occasional also receive an email stating "Your meeting was found to be out of date and has been automatically updated."

This customer is on a Win7 client and running Outlook 2007. Both the OS and Office/Outlook are completely patched as of 08/12/2014. There are also a couple of iOS devices that access the Exchange account and both are running the latest version of iOS according to the customer.

The customer states that this behavior began immediately following our migration from Exchange 2007 to 2013 a couple of months back. I am not able to see any reason for this at the server level. We also do not currently have any other users complaining of the same issue. I am unable to replicate the issue using my account. I suspect that it is isolated to this single user at this point.

We are running Exchange v15, build 847.32.

Has anyone experienced the same? Thanks in advance for any input.

We have a subscription to Office 365 and use Microsoft's Exchange service that MICROSOFT provides.

Using the Preview Pane in Outlook SLOWS.    THE.      APPLICATION.     DOWN.

I have:

(1) Repaired the Office Installation

(2) Run the Scanpst thing from Microsoft.

(3) Run Outlook in SAFE mode

(4) Checked the size of the OST file and compacted it.

(5) Created a BRAND NEW PROFILE

(6) Checked Add-Ins.

WHAT can I do NOW?!!!  I have done ALL THE THINGS I have found all over this site.  What is going on?!

Ok.  They ARE running McAfee.  If I disable that... they will kill me. :)

I have 2 users with this same problem.  Both using the Microsoft Exchange service.  Both with the latest version of Outlook.  Both repaired.

Suggestions, please?

Thank you.

Outlook Error: The set of folders cannot be opened. The attempt to log on to Microsoft Exchange has failed.

We are running Exchange 2013 CU8 right now and we have a distributed cluster across two remote sites and a third remote site which holds the file share quorum. We are using round robin DNS as well. Lately, we've been starting to get reports, and I have experienced it myself, that when opening Outlook, it returns the message "The set of folders cannot be opened. The attempt to log on to Microsoft Exchange has failed." I've tried following steps provided by some online research and have even gone as far as reinstalling Outlook and deleting my user profile. The only thing that ever seems to work is if I fail the database over to the other server that participates in the DAG cluster. Once I do that, I can start Outlook no problem. I can even fail it back to the original server and then close and open Outlook. But then if I close Outlook and leave the work station for some time (not quite sure how long exactly - could be as long as the next day), it happens again. I was wondering if anyone else has run into this type of behavior. Please let me know if you need more details and thank you in advance for your time!

Logging in a CAS Site

Hi everyone,

one question, please:

- I have 2 sites with CAS E2K13 in each one of them, Site A with CAS 1 and site 2 with CAS 2

- some external users connect thru VPN and access their mailbox thru CAS 1

The question is, how can I force this users can log thru CAS 2.

For now, I already set the CAS 1 to no site:

"Set-ClientAccessServer -Identity "CAS1_Server" -AutoDiscoverServiceInternalUri $null -AutoDiscoverSiteScope $null"

But still, the users connecting via VPN are still getting the CAS 1.

How can I "disable" the CAS 1 and force the user to log on "CAS 2"?

Any help will be appreciate. :-)

Thanks.

Outlook 2013 Instant Search not working

$

The search option in Outlook 2013 with online mode does not work. Currently, Outlook 2013 is running on a Windows 2008 terminal server and Exchange 2013 on a Windows 2012 server.

In other environments where Exchange 2010 and Outlook 2013 are running, there are no problems to search for e-mail. The instant search in Outlook 2013 works. It seems that searching in Outlook 2013, with online mode in combination with Exchange 2013 this function is not supported.
Later, on the Windows 2008 terminal server, the functions: Fileservices and External desktop-services have been installed. The functionservices: Fileserver and Windows-Search services are also installed. Even when this compontents are being installed, the search option in Outlook 2013 refuses to work.

When the Windows-Search function was installed, the Outlook profiel were present in the indexlist. The indexstatus In Outlook 2013 indicates that 0 items are beingindexed. Even with Outlook present in the list of the index file, the problem of searching for e-mail in Outlook still remains.

With the configuration of cache mode on, the search option is working. But because this is a terminal server, thepreference will be the online mode. I have tried to rebuild the index file, recreate a new Outlook profile and tried the solution that is given in this topic.

Sorry formy badenglish, but i hope someone is recognize this problem or knows a solution

Thanks in advance and i will look forward to your reply's
