No Outlook client are able to connect to exchange server 2013

Hello

When i try to connect any outlook client to Exchange server, it gives me error.

"The action cannot be completed.  The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action."

When i googled, i get mostly 2-3 solution but none of them worked in my case.

Most of them suggested to delete profile by going into "Mail" option in control panel of client and then add new profile.

Someone suggested to restart "Microsoft Exchange System Attendant service" service on Exchange server - but Exchange 2013 does not have this service.

So none of these solution worked for me.

Mostly i doubt that there is a issue on exchange server since none of the Outlook clients are able to connect to exchange.

pls help me to resolve this.

Thanx

How to Not Have Calendar Tentatively Accept a Meeting

How do you not have calendar tentatively accept a meeting? We have a calendar that has 3 delegates who must approve it. The issue is once I put a meeting request in (I am not a delegate), it shows up as "tentative" on the calendar. I don't want that to happen. I know you can uncheck "Automatically process meeting requests and responses to meeting requests and polls" in Outlook Options, but since we have many employees at our company we would have to do it for each individual user which we are trying to avoid.

So my question is how 1) how do we disable this tentative acceptance 2) if there is no way, is there another way to create a calendar in EAC and share it with the rest of the company, have delegate approval and not have the tentative acceptance. Right now I have a room created in EAC under Recipients -> Resources. If there is another better way to create a shared calendar, please let me know.

This is my first post on this forum so excuse me for any ignorance, just trying to get this resolved. Thank you

Outlook 2013 - Shared Calendar "No Connection"

$

Hello!

Cross-posted per Mohan Suryanarayan's comment here.

This problem is similar to this problem. The exception is that instead of an explicitly permitted user receiving a "no connection" notification, a user that should fall under Default "Free/Busy" gets "no connection" on shared calendars. Here's some pertinent information:

  • The user is on a personal, non-domain joined machine.
  • The user is connecting via HTTP (with msstd defined for proxy connections) from Outlook to Exchange 2007.
  • The user connects to shared calendars WITHOUT ERRORS when logging into the domain on a DJ'ed computer.
  • Per the aforementioned article, adding him as an editor to the calendar allows him error-free connection.
    • Interestingly enough, removing that permission allows him to continue the connection for a time, but he still sees everything instead of reverting to default free/busy.

Here's what I've done so far:

  • Added Editor rights manually to a shared calendar, which allowed connection, but then removed, which maintained connection and then removed it after about 15 mins.
  • Toggled Cached mode, without success.
  • Resynced his profile, without success.
  • Removed and recreated his profile, without success.
  • Turned on logging, which created ETL files in the OKCalLog directory in normal logging location (%temp% etc. etc.), but which ETLs yielded event codes for which Google had no useful input (and very little user friendly information besides). Codes 120 and 170 were most pertinent.

This user was previously working on domain-joined machines only. As I mentioned, when he logs in to a domain-joined machine, he has no issues.

Help! What am I missing?

Logging on to the mail server, failed.

Hi guys,

Would appreciate any advise given to the following issue:

I've installed and configured Exchange 2013 Std for a new organization, as a stand alone server.

Very small scale, with all pre and post configuration done. I'm in a testing phase by checking mail flow and set up of accounts from the clients side in outlook, all with success. ( OWA also in working 100%).

Today, when I needed to create their profiles in outlook, authentication takes place until the final step > logging on to mail server, where it fails. I've ruled out any authentication issue that might be the cause.

Regarding certificates, I'm using the self signed certificates exchange creates by default until I receive a 3rd party cert. This also, I believe is still in tact, with no changes made since the initial configuration.

Any ideas as to why there would be a problem logging on to the server all of a sudden?

Note, that accessing their accounts through OWA works perfectly. Just outlook itself where the error occurs.

Thanks in advance

Hi!

Some info:

  • 2x AD/DC Windows 2003 Native.
  • Previous Exchange 2003 installed, but now cleanly as it gets uninstalled.
  • Exchange 2013CU2v2 Aka Version 15.0 (Build 712.24)
  • Office 2010 with Outlook 2010 (Latest SP, and WU)
  • Outlook-prf configured for Outlook Anywhere. (i've also tried to configure manually, no difference)
  • Exchange: SAN Cert. GUI requested from ECP. This one covers all possible host names the server can use. autodiscover, owa, mail, "netbios"-name. Self issued from the internal CA. CA distributed to clients with GPO. I get NO certificate warnings surfing to OWA, ECP.

  • Exchange: ECP/Server/Outlook Anywhere; Auth set to NTLM (not Negotiate)
  • Ping inside host names resolves to the Exchange server.

  • Starting Outlook.exe with /rpcdiag show two connections for a while. One of the type catalog and one of the type redirect.

Problem:

  1. When starting Outlook you see "Loading profile" for about 30-40 seconds. /rpcdiag show two connections CID "9","11"; SERVERNAME "---","[GUID]@thedomain", AUTH and ENCRYPT is empty.
  2. The the a dialog comes up that says that the server isn't available?!
  3. Clicking "Retry" makes Outlook connect as it should. Everything from there works like a charm! /rpcdiag windows show that it has connection as it should.

Tried to click "Reconnect" in /rpcdiag. It also takes about 30 sec before it regains the conneciton. The part hanging there is the Type: Redirect.

So, does anyone have a clue for why it doesn't work and then does?

Can it be something wrong with the autodiscover?

Accessing Shared Calendars and Mailboxes / Office 2013 on Exchange 2010

Currently my organization uses Exchange Server 2010 and we recently upgraded our Office client software from 2010 to 2013.   A handful of user are having problems seeing others shared calendars and shared inboxes. Permissions seem to be correct and others with the same level of access have no problem seeing the same shared calendars.

When trying to select a shared inbox, the following message appears:

“The set of folders cannot be opened.   Your Microsoft Exchange administrator has blocked the version of Outlook that you are using.  Contact your administrator for assistance”

When trying to view a shared calendar (only on some people) no information is returned – appears like there calendar is blank.  I also had one of the users log into my PC and she has the same problem on the same users’ calendars.  Although when I log back in, I can see everyone’s calendar.   I read that MS had released a patch that addressed a similar/same problem but our workstations already seem to have this patch installed.

Any ideas?

Outlook 13 (O365) cannot connect to server!

Outlook cannot connect to the server! It happened all day Wednesday, then worked again on Thursday, and now has been disconnected since Thursday evening. I'm using O365, Outlook 13 and have a Hosting Provider. My network is connected with no Exchane issues in my O365 Dashboard. OWA works fine. I've tried running a repair but it cannot find my email alias, just spins for minutes and minutes.

Do I have an Outlook corruption? Should I re-install? What next?

Autodiscover and rootdomain URL Issue

$
0
0

I'm not sure of the proper sequence of events when autodiscover initiates because what I thought I understood of the process is not what is actually occurring.  Initially I thought it was https://domain.com/autodiscover.... then https://autodiscover.domain.com/auto.... (etc.)  After further investigation it looks like SCP is the first stop for a domain joined PC.  Regardless, I am having issues and it all revolves around autodiscover looking for the root domain.

My issue is with both domain joined and non-domain joined PC's.  When attempting to configure outlook 2013 I am running into the following situation:

Based on what I'm seeing, autodiscover is looking first for https://domain.com/autodiscover...  My problem with that is that our company web site (domain.com) is hosted on a server that is not part of my environment.  Autodiscover is finding this server first and immediately throws the security alert regarding the names not matching (which it should because the server it's hitting is not mine and doesn't have anything to do with my exchange environment).  I have not been able to configure a non-domain PC yet.  With a domain joined PC I can at least get past the security alert and configure the client.

My question is, how can I prevent autodiscover from looking for https://domain.com/autodis.....  as the first step in the process?  I tried the reg settings found here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/948981  the link is for exchange 2007 but I figured it was worth a try.  I have also tried using a local XML file which has not worked either.  I found another thread that referenced using a host file with the desired URL and that did not work.

One strange thing to note on the domain joined PC.  When I run the "Test E-mail Autoconfiguration" tool from the outlook client it doesn't even reference the root domain URL in the log.  It listed the URL that it found via SCP which is the URL I want it to go to.  However it still throws the security alert because it's still looking up the root domain url.  Why is it looking up the root domain URL if it found what it needed via SCP?

Thanks for your time.

I want Exchange 2013 to work with 2 Network interfaces (one to the internet with public IP and another for internal with private IP) the two internet is having 2 different gateways.

The DC is on another Server in the internal network.

My question; will this solution work or not?

Will Exchange client be able to authenticate from inside and outside(owa)?

Is there any challenges?

Hi All,

Right now i am in a Testing phase before going in full phase migration of Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2013.
Current Environment
Exchange 2010 - 3 Multi-role (MBX/CAS/HT) servers
Exchange 2013 - 3 Multi-role (MBX/CAS) and 2 dedicated CAS servers.

I have been facing issue when a user whose mailbox is on Exchange 2013 trying to access the mailbox on Exchange 2010. below are the scenario.

  1. Auto Configure the Test 1 (Exchange 2013 Mailbox which already has full mailbox permission on 2010 Mailbox) it will popup for user name password, after entering the credentials it goes ahead and completes the config.
  2. When i close and re-open the outlook client for test 1 it will show me credential window, after entering it opens successfully.
  3. when i configure  a Test 2 (Exchange 2010 mailbox which has full permission on Exchange 2013 mailbox) it works fine without any issue.

I have checked my Outlook-anywhere config of all Exchange 2013 servers and below is the output.

Hi Exchange experts,

Exchange 2013 server, Lyn server is Skype for Business On-prem.

One of our users has the issue on the SFB conversation history saving.

Sometime it works, but sometimes there is red "!" shows up on SFB. When she close the conversation, it dosn't show up in Outlook Conversation History folder automatically.

Error message as below:

The Exchange server won't let us connect. We're working on fixing the connection. Your history, voice mail and Outlook features might be unavailable or out-of date until things are fixed.

The configuration information shows up "EWS unavailable, retrying ", "MAPI Status OK".

I know this issue related to both Lync Server and Exchange Server.

Any tips related to Exchange Server would be great.

Thanks and Best Regards,

Mavis

Question Applies to Office Office 2010 Microsoft Office Outlook Office for Windows 7 8 views exchange email show up on phone in OWA but not in the outlook client

I have over 60 users on our system but for some reason 2 users are not getting every email in their outlook 2010 client.  The emails come in fine to their Iphones and if you look in OWA they are there but they are not coming to outlook.  It's only a very small percentage that isn't making it but most of the time they are important emails and some have pdf attachments(contracts) and some don't ...... I was able to get them to come in by turning off exchange cached mode but some emails are still not syncing and things that have been deleted are still there.  I'm pretty confused here and would love and appreciate some help here.  Thanks ahead of time for any suggestions possible.

OWA Redirect Errors - :-( something went wrong

$

I have two Exchange 2013 servers with CAS and Mailbox and two Exchange 2010 servers with Hub, CAS and Mailbox. The 2010 servers operate perfectly. The two Exchange 2013 servers have been added to the environment and setup as a IPless DAG. I have some strange behaviours with ECP and OWA websites:

* Server 1: ECP works fine using local FQDN or Loadbalanced FQDN, OWA gives ":-( something went wrong Sorry we can't get that information right now...", sometime I get a blank page but don't know what the difference is. User accounts on the 2013 servers work for OWA but once I have logged in on a computer with a 2013 account and then try to use a 2010 account it keeps trying 2013 OWA.

* Server 2: ECP works fine using local FQDN or Loadbalanced FQDN, OWA works with local or Loadbalaced FQDN and happily redirects to the 2010 servers as required. If I connect to this server and try and login to a 2013 account via OWA it redirects to 2010 and tells me to connect to Server 1.

Both Exchange 2013 are running SP1CU9. I have tried re-setting the Virtual Directories on Server 1 as well as some changes to binding in IIS but nothing seems to make any difference. The Exchange servers are in different DataCentres but otherwise are identical.

Any clues would be good.
