Sync MAC Calendar

$

0

I'm not sure if this is a Exchange or an Outlook question.

I have a Bell.net email account which is an email service provided by Microsoft (I believe its hotmail). I'm trying to sync my MAC Calendar with the calendar associated with my Bell.net email account but nothing seems to work (when I log into my bell.net email account I can go the calendar function, which I want to sync with the MAC calendar app).

I've been on the phone with Bell (or Simpatico techs), Apple techs and Microsoft techs. Bell techs are useless. Apple advises the way to do this is to launch the Calendar app, go to preferences and add the account (giving it my email address and password). I've tried adding it both as Exchange and CalDav, but nothing seems to work. I get a message back saying can't connect to the server.

The response I get from Bell (Sympatico techs) is that they use Microsoft email service so I have to contact Microsoft. Microsoft passes me from tech to tech to tech (on three separate occasions I've was on the phone with Microsoft for over four hours). Apples has been very helpful but they tell me I need to find out from Bell (Simpatico) the server name, which Bell/Sympatico don't understand.

By the way calendar synch works great from my iPhone. I've tried using the same server name on the MAC but it does not work.

PLEASE HELP. ANYONE. (by the way I've tried with my Google email account and calendar sync works beautifully).

Thanks.

OWA 2013 CU8 - Address Lists under People selection behaviour

$

We are currently migrating from Exchange 2010 SP3 Rollup 9 to a fresh install of Exchange 2013 CU8 (installed directly from the CU). Mailbox moves are running smoothly and both Exchange version Mailboxes are accessible by clients during migrations.

However, under OWA 2013's People -> Directory (Address Lists), proper selection of the listed addresses failed.

 1. Attempt to select an item under Directory will result in a multiple (Ctrl+Select) selection behaviour. Re-clicking the selected item will not unselect it.
 2. The same issue is also exhibited when adding addresses (clicking + plus sign in the To or CC box) during Mail compose.
 3. This behaviour only affects the Directory Address Lists; it does not affect selection behaviour of Personal Contacts items or any other Mailbox items such as Mails or Tasks.
 4. We have tried IE 11.0.9600.17801, Firefox 27.0.2 and Chrome 42.0.2311.135 but the above issue persists.
 5. Only affects Listings (all items) under Directory; when "Search People" results are displayed, selection behaviour is working.
 6. Only affects OWA web interface; does not affect Microsoft Outlook or any other GAL behaviour.

During initial loading of the People page (All Rooms were selected onLoad), we noticed two XHR POST requests were made from the OWA to the FE:

1. /owa/service.svc?action=FindPeople&ID=-36&AC=1

This request received a 200 success response with the following JSON:

{yyyy},{zzzz
*xxxx, yyyy and zzzz are obfuscated items.

2. /owa/service.svc?action=GetPersona&ID=-37&AC=1

This request also received a 200 success response with the following JSON:

When the All Distribution Lists were selected, the following XHR POST were registered:

1. /owa/service.svc?action=GetGroupInfo&ID=-50&AC=1

This request received an error 500 response with the following JSON:
System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.\u000d\u000a at Microsoft.Exchange.Clients.Owa2.Server.Core.ServiceCommands.GetGroupCommand.GetPDLData()\u000d\u000a at Microsoft.Exchange.Services.Wcf.ServiceCommand`1.DetectDuplicatedCallOrExecute()\u000d\u000a at Microsoft.Exchange.Services.Wcf.ServiceCommand`1.Execute()\u000d\u000a at Microsoft.Exchange.Clients.Owa2.Server.Core.OWAService.GetGroupInfo(GetGroupInfoRequest getGroupInfoRequest)\u000d\u000a at SyncInvokeGetGroupInfo(Object , Object[] , Object[] )\u000d\u000a at System.ServiceModel.Dispatcher.SyncMethodInvoker.Invoke(Object instance, Object[] inputs, Object[]& outputs)\u000d\u000a at System.ServiceModel.Dispatcher.DispatchOperationRuntime.InvokeBegin(MessageRpc& rpc)\u000d\u000a at System.ServiceModel.Dispatcher.ImmutableDispatchRuntime.ProcessMessage5(MessageRpc& rpc)\u000d\u000a at System.ServiceModel.Dispatcher.ImmutableDispatchRuntime.ProcessMessage31(MessageRpc& rpc)\u000d\u000a at System.ServiceModel.Dispatcher.MessageRpc.Process(Boolean isOperationContextSet)"}}

Calendar Appointment Notes showing in OWA but not Outlook

We have a recent issue with our sales reps.

If an appointment is created in their Outlook calendar and notes put in the appointment it displays ok on their iPhone/Lumia(windows 8.1) When they edit the appointment notes on their phones the amended notes appear ok in OWA but the notes in outlook calendar are now blank.

I have noticed when I enable cached mode the notes display ok in Outlook. However I want to avoid the use of cached mode in the business.

User is not receiving new mail items in Inbox

I received a case where 1 user is unable to receive mail in her Inbox. New messages are received in the top-level folder in her mailbox.

I configured her mailbox for my pc and the same problem resulted. I also checked OWA and the same problem exists there as well. I checked to see if she had any rules and there aren't any that would cause this.

Does anyone have any insight on why this is occurring?

Outlook clients cannot connect Exchange 2013 cutover from 2010

$

Hello,

My company has been running an Exchange 2013/2010 coexistence. Currently, Exch 2013 (2mbx and 1 CAS) utilizes "mail2.domain.com" for the name space. Exch 2010 (1MBX 1 CAS) uses "mail.domain.com"

We recently attempted to cutover external and internal DNS to point "mail.domain.com" and "autodiscover.domain.com" to the Exch 2013 server.

We changed all virtual directories on 2013 to use "https://mail.domain.com/owa" (ECP, EWS, etc. were changed too) for the internal and external URL. The Exch 2010 virtual directories internal URL are set to "https://internalFQDN.domain.com/owa" the external URLs are $null

Both CAS servers were setup to use Outlook Anywhere since this is how 2013 proxies to 2010. The internal URLs for both were set to "mail.domain.com" IIS authentication Methods (Basic, NTLM). ClientAuthenicsationMethod: NTLM.

For both servers the autodiscoverserviceinternaluri was set to: https://autodiscover.domain.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml

The 2013 server has two SSL certificates installed. One is a wildcard cert for "*.domain.com" and the other includes our SANs (mail.domain.com, mail2.domain.com, webmail.domain.com, autodiscover.domain.com) it also includes the FQDN for the 2010 and 2013 CAS servers.

I'm speaking in the past tense because we had to roll back. The problem was no Outlook user could connect. This goes for mailboxes hosted on the Exchange 2013 and 2010 servers. The error was: "Cannot open your default e-mail folder" to "The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete".

Everything else worked fine during the cutover. OWA 2013 login page proxied 2010 logins properly, Outlook 2011 could connect with EWS fine, Active-Sync worked without issues too. It was only the Outlook 2010 and 2013 clients that could not connect.

We rolled back and everything is working as it was before with the separate namespace. That leads me to think it's something with Outlook Anywhere (RPC/HTTPS) but the settings seem correct unless I'm missing something. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

Missing Calendar Search Option in Exchange 2013 OWA

$

There does not appear to be a calendar search option in on premise Exchange 2013 OWA. This option DOES exist in Office 365 OWA, however. Can anyone confirm that this feature is missing by design in Exchange 2013 and not some sort of misconfiguration?

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Thank you.

Default Outlook Anywhere Connections

$

I'm using an Exchange 2013 SP1 environment with almost no customization. Only 2 servers exists - one holding CAS+MBX, and a second one being an MBX. No DAGs, balancers, etc. Mapi over HTTP is not enabled. The default self-signed certificates are used (no new certificate was installed, nor any self-signed certificate manually installed on any server/client). A mailbox is provisioned on a database located on the first server. Outlook is configured for the corresponding user on a client machine and started. Everything works just fine, with the 'Outlook Connection status' window showing 2 Exchange Directory + 2 Exchange Mail connections. Authentication is NTLM. Ports for all 4 connections are 6001 - which hint that Outlook Anywhere is indeed used.

From time to time, the familiar "Security Alert" comes up warning about the self-signed certificate, but this is usually traced in my experience to the various services Outlook is using, that are running on HTTPS (OAB, EWS, Availability...).

Here we find that in Exchange 2013 "Outlook Anywhere is enabled by default, because all Outlook connectivity takes place via Outlook Anywhere". Thenhere it's stated that "Outlook Anywhere won't work with a self-signed certificate on the Client Access server". I remember the latter being true against Exchange 2010 instances, but seems not to be the case in Exchange 2013 anymore. Unless I'm missing something, from the standpoint of a default installation, the 2 articles contradict each other.

Second issue - even though Outlook is set for "Negotiate" in its Security setting, it looks like the Kerberos preferred option is never chosen. Would it have to do with the self-signed certificate and Outlook Anywhere ?

Auto send an email when a message is received

We do not allow auto forwarding of all email to personal accounts but we have some users who want to receive notification in their personal email account when they receive an email in their Exchange/outlook account. We are running Exchange and Outlook 2013. I can't find a way to do a "you've got mail message" via outlook rules. Is there a way I'm missing or a way to script it?

thanks

Outlook anywhere strangeness via Web Access Proxy

$

Hi guys,

Have a strange issue and I am wondering if the Web Access Proxy is the culprit. I ran the autodiscover test from the remote connectivity analyzer and it finds autodiscover.objectivespark.com but complains about it's certificate. I am using a wild card certificate...I am able to hit owa.objectivespark.com and autodiscover.objectivespark.com fine and the certificate is correct (wild card from go Daddy). I can't even manually set up Outlook anywhere settings, Outlook just tells me that it can't resolve the server.

POP3 with TLS 1.1 or TLS 1.2

$

I have a front end load balancer to a backend Exchange 2010 CAS Server running POP. I need to disable SSL 3.0 and TLS 1.0 and only use TLS 1.1 and TLS 1.2 for obvious reasons. I am able to disable SSL 3.0 and can still access pop via Outlook and mobile devices but when I disable TLS 1.0 I get an SSL handshake failure when trying to authenitcate to POP.

What's the solution? Also an official KB article on this subject is requested.

Currently on the front end from external connections to the load balancer I can support TLS 1.0, TLS 1.1 and TLS 1.2 but the load balancer does not give me the ability to enable TLS 1.1 or TLS 1.2 from the load balancer to the Exchange CAS server. In essence I can't have end to end TLS 1.1 or TLS 1.2 with the current version of the load balancer but I'm need TLS 1.1 and TLS 1.2 from client devices to load balancer then TLS 1.0 or SSL 3.0 from the load balancer to the CAS server.

How do I configure pop3 to accept TLS 1.1 or 1.2 on the front end from clients?

Hello,

i have a (big) Problem with Outllok 2013, and i did already a few things to sort out some possible solutions. Even one of our customer has access to more than one Mailbox within Outlook (shared mailboxes) , the Software slow down that you are not able to read mails or switch to another Folder without drinking a coffee.

We have actual a brandnew Exchange 2013 Environment and the client OS is Windows 7, and i did already the following things

 • install all Updates (WSUS)
 • disable Hardware graphics.......
 • run Microsoft Office Configuration Analyzer Tool and disabled Bluetooth Add-in

maybe someone can help me and sorry for my bad English i´m not an English native Speaker :)

btw. If I install Outlook 2010 the problem didn't come up, only with O2013

thanks in advance for some hints

Unable to sign in to OWA / ECP after wildcard ssl certificate renewal

there's a single exchange 2013 server and the ssl wildcard certificate in use expired so install a new wildcard ssl certificate and assigned to services.

outlook is working but unable to sign in to OWA or ECP, after entering credentials and try to sign in the page refreshes and comes back to the sign in page (looks like in a loop). no errors, if try to login with incorrect credentials then will come up with error.

there was a missing Exchange Auth certificate error so created a new Auth cert and assigned to SMTP.

verified that correct wildcard ssl certificate is bind to default web site within IIS

Thanks in advance.

Duplicate attachments in outlook 2010

Hi.

We have problem with duplicating mail attachments.

Scenario:

When I edit any Office 2010 documents (word, excel powerpoint), then click on File->Save&Send->Send as attachment. If I encrypt, or sign or encrypt and sign message, then outlook sends message with duplicated attachment of one file. Two attachments of one file in message are also in sent items in sender's mailbox, not only in recipient inbox.

This is only scenario when it happen. This is happening since we upgraded to exchange 2013.

Can someone help me with this problem?

Thank You for any help.

Outlook Dumping One Contact's Messages Into Junk Folder

$
0
0

Outlook moves all emails from one particular contact to my Junk folder. I have tried absolutely everything I can think/read/learn to stop this from happening, but nothing has worked. Worse, even when I move his emails back to my Inbox, Outlook momentarily moves them BACK to the Junk folder.

Here's what I've tried:

1. This contact is internal to my exchange account (i.e. they share the same @domain that I have), so Outlook won’t let me mark him as a “Never Block” sender.

2. This contact's domain name (which is the same as mine) is already a “Never Block” domain.

3. When I mark his messages as “Not Junk,” his emails go to the Inbox, but seconds or minutes later Outlook moves it back to Junk, automatically.

4. The Junk Folder Settings already specify “No Filters,” which means that in theory only Blocked Senders should go to Junk and NOTHING else. (But that’s not what happens… I do get stuff automatically dumped into Junk, including this contact's emails.)

5. Both this contact's email address AND his whole domain are both on my Safe Senders list.

6. The Junk E-Mail Options are also set to "Trust e-mail from my Contacts," and he is one of my Contacts.

7. The Junk Email Options are also set to "Automatically add people I e-mail to the Safe Senders List," and I email him all the time.

8. He is on my "Safe Recipients" list, and has been there for months now, with no effect.

9. He is NOT on my Blocked Senders list, and never has been.

10. I am not blocking ANY top-level domains or emails sent in any particular language.

Why on earth is this one contact's emails then getting moved to the Junk folder, every single time? I send emails to and receive emails from this contact almost every single day. *Something* I've listed above should have worked. And yet Outlook just doesn't want his emails in my Inbox -- it wants them in my Junk folder.

Please help!

Thank you.

Outlook 2013 Auto Account Setup for Linked Mailbox Not working

$

We've created a linked mailbox, in Exchange 2013 (in domain1), for a user in another AD forest, domain2. We have the AutoDiscover service configured in the other AD forest as well. Our only issue now is trying to find a way to get the Outlook Auto Account Setup to automagically configure a user's profile the first time Outlook 2013 is started. If we type in the user's email address and name and click Next, the profile is created successfully.

I spoke to Microsoft support who helped me confirm that AutoDiscovery was configured correctly in the other forest. Reading this information (https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124251.aspx ) on AutoDiscover, I found what may be the issue. It notes that

"If the Outlook client is joined to a domain, the user's domain account is used."

Since the linked mailbox is associated with domain1, Outlook looks like it cannot use the domain account from domain2. I wonder if there might be a registry hack to bypass this and force Outlook clients in domain2 to look at email addresses in domain1?
