Problem when forwarding OWA email to Outlook

$

0

When I forward an email from OWA to my Outlook account, or someone else opening the email in Outlook, my signature get trashed with hundreds of extra characters.    I am getting complaints about this -- what's more it makes my email look very unprofessional.

My OWA signature has my name, title, phone number and email address.    OWA automatically generates a small phone symbol and inserts it at the end of my phone number in my signature.   I don't think it is a coincidence that this is where the scattered characters, 100's of them, begin when you look at the email in Outlook.

Is there a fix?

Outlook work offline

The search function in Outlook 2010 does not work.

Despite attempting nearly every solution available here, I have been unable to get the search function to work in Outlook 2010 despite it previously working a couple of months ago. This includes searches for terms in the email, the email subject, or the sender. Likewise, it neither works for 'Current Folder' searches or 'All Mail Items'. I'm using Outlook for two different exchange accounts.

Things that I have attempted:
  • There is no option to uncheck Outlook as suggested in the post below.
http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/office/forum/office_2010-outlook/cant-search-emails-in-outlook-2010/92f26632-5ad5-4a00-a499-4f57b978c5ad
  • I have tried rebuilding the index to no avail. Using the updated 'Restore Defaults' procedure at the end of this post also did not do anything.
http://lh3.ggpht.com/_A3o0EjLYCNg/SrPPjIPrR0I/AAAAAAAADCk/4ois2iaCslg/s1600-h/09-09-18%20Outlook%20Not%20Indexing%20-%20Force%20Reindex%20by%20Restore%20to%20Defaults%5B3%5D.png
  • I have deleted the entire ost file and had Outlook redownload it.
  • I have ensured that the Windows Features "Indexing Service" and "Windows Search" are both enabled.
  • I have restarted my computer and given it enough time for the re-index/download to take place.
I'm at a loss as to what to do. Suggestions?

Hello,

We relocated our AD and Exchange 2007 server  to a new office. All Win 7 domain-joint clients are connecting to Exchange just fine. Link task and calendar

Hi,

Someone just booked my calendar. I need to prepare for this meeting 2 days in advance. So I'll create a tast 2 days ahead of the booking. But - what if the meeting is moved? I would like for my task to move automatically so it's 2 days ahead of the new meeting date.

Can I make this link (dependency) between a booking from someone else, and a task that I create myself?

 Thanks

Outlook 2007 Exchange - Sent: TIME information changes when the message is Forward or Replied To

$

0

SYSTEM:  MS Exchange and Outlook 2007 (not sure which SP - probably SP4).

SCENARIO:

An original message was sent at 10:00 am EST so the message headers (as seen in the message view) looks like this -

From:   *** Email address is removed for privacy *** [origianl sender]

Sent:  Wednesday, 1 December, 10:00 am

To:  *** Email address is removed for privacy *** [original recipient]

Subject:  Some pretty important business

When the original message is viewed from the Sender's "Sent Items" folder, the message data is identical to the info above.

When the original message is viewed from the Recipient's "Inbox", the message data is identical to the info above.

OK, here's the PROBLEM and QUESTION:

When the recipient of the original message forwards that message to another recipient, the time in the Sent:  line of the original message changes.  The result looks like this:

From:   *** Email address is removed for privacy *** [original recipient]

Sent: Wednesday, 1 December, 10:05 am

To:  *** Email address is removed for privacy *** [new recipient]

Subject: FW: Some pretty important business

---------------Original Messsage---------------

From: *** Email address is removed for privacy *** [original sender]

Sent: Wednesday, 1 December, 7:00 am      <===***Note the time has changed  and indicates a time that is 3 hours earlier

To: *** Email address is removed for privacy *** [original recipient]

Subject: Some pretty important business

This is a significant problem.  It is alleged that the user (original sender) is "Making a False Statement" by manipulating the time-setting on devices (Blackberry and Laptop) to create this result.  The user claims that he/she did not change any time settings on any device.

All email parties, Original Sender, Recipient, and New Recipient are based on the East Coast and operate (normally) in the EST (GMT -0500).

The messages are routed through a server on the West Coast (GMT -0800).

Could this event be caused by the physical location of the server?  Has anyone experienced anything like this?  If the user did not change any of the system settings than this must be a result of systems/server message handling?  Please advise.

This is a time-sensitive matter [no pun intended].  Any expert consult would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

Exchange 2003 OWA Page Cannot be Displayed

$

Not really sure what happened, but we changed the external IP address of the company. Soon after that OWA was having issues internall and externally. I fixed the external part and I am getting the same error internally now that I am externally.

When I browse the exchange VD I get a page cannot be displayed. When I do it from the server in IE it will not accept the password, evevtually get just says access is denied like I am typing the wrong password in.

Externally I get a log in prompt and then I get the blue line down the left hand side life it is going to bring the page up and then on the left and right side of the blue line I get page cannot be displayed.

I have rebuilt the virtual directories multiple times - compared a couple other sites that use the same settings but still no go.

I have been all around the web trying to figure this out but I am stuck - The client is NOT going to update their server from 03 to 08 and they are not going to upgrade exchange which they are currently on 2003. Before this even happened we have been trying to get them to upgrade but they don't want too.

Users are not having any issues with Iphones syncing to exchange - Just a side note

Any ideas on how to get this resolved would be greatly appreciated.

My email address is in many email groups. When I want to unsubscribe some newsletters, some time the web page asks me to input my email address. However when the a recipient address is "non-disclosed", I don't know which email group is the newsletter sending to.

Is there any way to know the targeted address of the newsletter?

Outlook 2002 with Exchange Server 2012

I have Outlook 2002 on a number of machines with XP Pro.  I have installed a new server and am trying to use email throught Microsoft Exchange 2012.  Outlook only sends and receives messages when I exit and restart outlook.  Hitting the send/receive or f9 does nothing.  It will work with OWA, but I have to refresh everytime to send or receive messages.

New messages in Outlook 2010 are automatically read when they come in

Hi

I have several users complaining about this issue. We have hosted exchange via GoDaddy setup on their Outlook 2010. Each time a new email comes in, it is bold for a couple of minutes and then changes to read on its own accord.

They have OWA too with GoDaddy and with Outlook switched off the messages in that platform stay bold. As soon as we switch on Outlook it changes those to read too.

I have played around with the Options, Advanced settings, Reading Pane and views but haven't come up with a reasonable solution to this.

I'm hoping some out there can help, as I have exhausted all forums.

Best regards,

Rizwan

Auto Complete in Word

When I'm connected to Terminal Services and I email from Word, the recipient's names are not showing up as I type in the "To" box (Auto Complete is not working), however, when I do it through Outlook it works.  If I'm on my local computer - the Auto Complete features works in both Outlook and Word.  Any suggestions?

Outlook offline folders not synchronizing with Exchange 2010

$

We recently switched to a new server and upgraded to microsoft exchange. As soon as we did this my Outlook 2007 folders stopped synchronizing with the server. I am getting all of my mail, but anytime I move mail from my inbox to one of my subfolders in Outlook, it does not reflect that move in my webmail or my phone, which are oviously communicating directly with the server.

Our IT guy has tried deleting the .odt file, and even went as far as completely erasing my email from the server and then reloading it. Nothing is working. This is driving me crazy since I do a lot of work from my phone.

Please Help!

Emails with attachments get hung in outbox. Emails with no attachments are fine.

I have exchange 2010 on server 2008 r2 and users are having issues sending emails with attachments. They are using outlook 2010 and every time they try to send a message with an attachment it gets hung in the outbox. The size of the attachment doesn't matter. It might sit there for a few hours before it is sent. However, if a user clicks send/receive all folders the message goes out. Send immediately when connected is checked in options and if I change schedule an automatic send/receive every 1 minute it gets sent after a few minutes. I've tried recreating a user's profile but the issue remains. I don't have any issues with my emails that contain attachments. However, I am a domain and schema admin. I've searched through forums but have just seen the workarounds I have mentioned above. Is there a fix to this issue?

Does anybody know of any program that harvest NK2 files for SPAM use? How about ActiveSync accounts? Are there any known spyware/trojans for iphone or Android that harvest ActiveSync contacts from Exchange?

Calendar entries created in Outlook report an inaccurate timezone in ConnectWise

$

My company is in the process of adopting project management software from ConnectWise, but we are having issues with Outlook Calendaring.ConnectWise (CW) synchronizes calendars between its scheduling and Exchange. With some users, it is pulling an incorrect time zone from the Exchange calendar, and moving the calendar entry to EST when we should be in MST.This only happens to some users and only happens when the original calendar entry is created with Outlook (2010 or 2013).If the original calendar entry is created via OWA, it is always works properly. The problem only occurs when the calendar entry is created with an Outlook client.CW states that they use OWA API’s to query the Exchange calendar. All operations with calendaring work properly outside of CW – time zones are never a problem between our users in normal day-to-day operations. The only time we see an issue is when CW synchronizes calendars between Exchange and CW.I have verified that we are using the proper MST time zone in Outlook and on the desktop OS.Anyone have any ideas? CW is sending me in the direction of Microsoft support.

From the Outlook Forum: "Since you’re working on Exchange server email account, your issue will be better addressed in the TechNet forums for ITPRO. Click on the link below to post your issue in TechNet forum. ...link... Thank You."

Meeting missing some or all attendees in tracking page.

$

We have a weird problem reported to us yesterday.  One of our manager reported to us that many (but not all) meetings only show the meeting organizer and himself in the tracking page, when the meetings actually contain many other attendees.  I took a look and confirmed the problem, sometimes it may shows a subset of all attendees instead of just the organizer and the current user.

Example:

Meeting #1 with the following attendees

Organizer, MBX1

User-A, MBX1

User-B, MBX1

User-C

User-D, MBX1

User-E

On User-A meeting's tracking page, only the Organizer and User-A show up.

On User-B meeting's tracking page, Organizer, User-A, User-B, User-C show up.

On Organizer and User-D meeting's tracking page, everyone show up.

All running same Outlook 2010 version/build, Exchange 2010 SP2 RU3.  Same problem on OWA (attendees missing).

MBX1 has calendar repair agent enabled.  Most if not all users also have iphone.  I know iOS 6 had issues with where the organizer may get hijacked or lost, but in this case the organizer is intact but some or all attendees are missing.

Any idea what is the problem?  Thanks

Outlook meeting is cancelled when invitee declines the meeting request

Meeting organizer scheduled a meeting and sent out notices.  One invitee declined the meeting, which cancelled the meeting.  There are no delegates involved, nor any iPhones or tablets.  This is an Exchange server and all users are on desktops or laptops on the same network.
