My company has compliance concerns and wants to retain all email for record.
We have an archiving solution which will archive email that go into the RIF on deletion. I have just realized that if we remove an attachment from an email it will not be archived as it does not hit the RIF.
The archiving solution is able to do Zero day archiving but there is a delay as it processes users which means there is a period where users could remove attachments from email without any record.
I could enable a Legal hold on mailboxes but i don't want to do this for the whole organisation.
Is there a way to stop users from being able to remove attachments from emails?
I cannot find a GPO to do this or a retention policy. Maybe i am missing something obvious.
