What is changing my outlooksettings for non-domain joined computers?

Hi guys,

Have around 3000 pc that are not joined to the domain that is soon going to running outlook 2010 against Exchange 2013.

If setting up a new profile, we choose proxy server mail.company.com, msstd:*.company.com (we are using wildcard certificatE) and basic authentication. This works fine and we can sign in.

After a while we can notice that msstd is changed to mail.company.com and basic is changed to NTLM.

Since this is not domain joined pc's it cannot be GPOs, it must have to do with how exchange identifies the clients. Eventhough they are not members of the domain they are connecting from the same network as the domainjoined pcs.

It works perfect for domain joined pcs.

OutlookProvider EXPR is set to mail.company and msstd:*.company.com

RPC vdir (outlook anywhere) is pointed towards mail.company.com, externalauth: Basic, internalauth NTLM.

same goes for EWS vidr...

Please advice, what is causing this configuration change? can I lock em down to static values using local registry keys?
