Events in Outlook 2010 calendar sporadically disappearing / reappearing

The boss's personal assistant (PA) works with 2 calendars in Outlook. The boss's public calendar (which everyone has access to) and the boss's semi-public calendar (which only the PA and a couple of other employees have access to.) The PA is the only person who actually makes changes to either calendar.

The PA will routinely enter the same information in both calendars and have both calendars opened in Outlook at the same time, side by side. There is never any problem with the public calendar. But, in the semi-public calendar, some of the events that were entered sporadically fail to appear. She can then close the folder or Outlook and reopen it, and then the events will generally reappear (sometimes she has to close and open the folder more than once to get this to work.) I've personally seen this happen twice while I was in her office.

On one occasion, the PA and another employee who has access to the semi-public calendar were looking at it at the same time from their respective PCs. The PA could not see the events, but the other employee could. The PA then closed and reopened the folder and the events appeared.

Any ideas how to fix this?
