outlook 2010 clients won't connect to office 365 (with latest exch2013 backend)
very strange problem no answers from microsoft yet either
migrating 12 users from a local network to office 365 the latest version with exch2013 backend
existing network had a sbs2003 with exchange 2003 the accounts were exported to pst and exchange uninstalled (including iis) prior to starting
to migrate users to office 365
all the external prep for dns and mx settings updated the nslookup to autodiscover.domainname...all passes fine
(did a similar exercise a few weeks ago on another site only difference was office 365 with exch2010 backend and no problems)
anyway all clients same running XP Pro SP3 and Office 2010 SP1 even same dell hardware
7 client pcs connected to office 365 fine
5 client pcs won't connect (tried everything including an office 365 support call,)
(it does not matter which office 365 account i use they all work on the 7 (good) pcs and all fail on the other 5 pcs, all accounts work with outlook externally and from anywhere using OWA)
I then took one of the 5 pcs that would not connect and did a factory reset to XP SP3 loaded all windows updates and office 2010 SP1 amazingly this box still did not connect to office 365, which really stumped me.
When i run tests using testexchange connectivity everything passes though there are warnings about compatibility with certain o.s. perhaps this is a clue?
Does anyone have any idea on what i can try next?
