Question about the outlook severname

Hi,

Have a customer with both domain joined and non-domain joined pc's.

If testing autodiscover and outlook anywhere with a domain joined pc it works correct.

If testing a non-domain joined pc with outlook it finds the server, and the mailbox guid gets placed in the servername with is a new thing since cas array is no more. but I cannot log into the server eventhough its negotiate.

if doing this process manually, I cannot use mail.company.com in the server field (with points towards one of the combined cas/mbx servers) I have to type the fqdn of the server (ex01.company.com)

if testing autodsicover lookup in outlook i can see that all fields are pointing towards mail.company.com.

what have i missed?

- ews vdir = both internal and externalurl set to mail.company.com

- outlook anywhere (rpc vdir) is set to mail.company.com

- clientaccesserever, the same

- outlookprovider = mail.company.com / msstd:*.company.com (since we have a wildcard cert)

what have I missed? shouldt mail.company.com be able to the same as serverfqdn in that field?

both autodiscover and mail is pointing towards the same ip as we tested, ex01.company.com (bypassing the hardware load balancer for troubleshooting)

please advice!
