We are running a load balanced (F5) CAS setup to our clustered Exchange mailbox. Recently we have been reviewing the logs and have found that 5% of our users use OSX. Many use Outlook 2011 and the other are using 10.6,10.7 and 10.8 with the
native Exchange support. That 5% of clients is accounting for 70% of traffic through the load balancer. The worst offenders seem to be 10.6.8 but Outlook 2011 is a close second. Has anyone found a a way of controlling the OSX traffic or at
least mitigating the damage. We are reaching EOL on our current hardware and moving forward we will have design for whatever our clients will be using and it seems like we are going to have to build a considerably more robust CAS cluster than we had
hoped just to support a smattering of Macs.
