Hi,
I am after a bit of advice for autodiscover in an Exchange 2010 to 2013 migration.
Just to set the scenario:
Site A - 1 x Exchange 2010 server 192.168.0.10
Site B - 1 x Exchange 2013 server (new/proposed) 172.16.0.10
1 forest and domain = company.local
External Name= company.co.uk (configured for split DNS)
The sites are correctly configured in AD sites and services and there is a very fast (100Mb) and secure WAN connectivity between the two sites.
We want to migrate all the mailboxes to the new 2013 server in Site B.
My question relates to autodiscover. Currently on the 2010 server when I run the following command to get the autodiscover information I receive the following:
Get-ClientAccessServer | Select Name,AutodiscoverServiceInternalURI,AutodiscoverSiteScope | Fl
Name :EX2010
AutoDiscoverServiceInternalUri: https://ex2010.company.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml
AutoDiscoverSiteScope : Site A
When we install the 2013 server (CAS & MBX) I am unsure as to what to configure the AutoDiscoverInternalUri to?
Do I set it to be the same as the Exchange 2010 server above? The issue I am concerned with is the company is looking to change the namespace to a new domain name - so want to use mail.newcompany.com for everything including autodiscover (which will be autodiscover.newcompany.com)
I hope this question makes sense! All I am looking for is a way to test that when a mailbox is moved to the new Exchange 2013 site the user will still be able to discover and connect to their mailbox with no popups or warnings
This question assumes that we will be purchasing a SAN SSL certificate and will have configured all the OWA/EWS etc to use the same names internally and externally in a split DNS method.
Thanks!
