I apologize if this issue has been answered, I did search prior to asking.
Once (sometimes twice) a day a handful of people are prompted in Outlook. After entering credentials they have no further issues.
When this happens on my computer, I open Connection Status and always see TCP/IP and HTTPS connections. Today I saw 2 Directory connections on HTTPS while my Mail connection was TCP/IP. This is always the case when I am prompted.
We are all in the office on the LAN, running Windows 7 with Outlook 2010 against Exchange 2010.
Why would Outlook choose a different protocol for the Directory connection? I will check my connection status throughout the day and only see TCP/IP. Sometimes it will open HTTPS for the Mail connection and my directory will remain TCP/IP. Why does Outlook become confused?
As importantly, how do I prevent it?
Thanks,
Paul
