Hi there!
Our client is using Outlook 2003 which is connected to a local Exchange Server.
She has recently had a name change, and we created a fresh account in Active Directory as well as a new mailbox.
After setting up her new username and connecting Outlook to her new exchange account, she no longer has her local folders within Outlook as she did her old AD username. Well duh, it's a fresh account!
After setting up her new Exchange information, I went to import her .pst/.ost files...Had no problem importing the smaller outlook.pst (about 140MBs) which showed about almost 200 emails from only her Sent folder, but when trying to import her larger (2GB) outlook.ost, it did not recognize as an Outlook Data File.
Now, to recover her Outlook folders from her old AD username, I figure my options are.
1) Close out Outlook, go to Control Panel > Mail > and add her Old Exchange account (hoping it would download her old Exchange information to her Outlook)
2) Login her old AD account, Open Outlook and observe her folder setup and manually recreate the folders on her new User account
3) Within Exchange System Manager, someone how migrate or combine to the two exchange accounts. Which leads me to here, and how? I wanted to post now and scour the forums for a quick response hopefully.
