Please note that I have posted this question in both the Microsoft Offie 365 Community Forums who asked me to post to the Outlook Forum and who in turn have asked me to post here.
The question is:
I have noticed that since migrating to Office 365, some email notifications I receive from the Google+ team freezes outlook and leaves it hanging even when selecting it to try and get a preview. Outlook 2010 freezes and stops being responsive for up to a minute before it goes back to normal. I thought this was just my computer but the same thing happens to a user in my company with a different email account and on a different computer.
This problem doesn't happen when accessing the email in OWA
If I forward the message that is causing the problem the same issue doesn't persist when trying to view or open that message. I have tried forwarding the problematic message to other users within my organisation and Outlook didn't hang. I also forwarded the message to myself and when trying to open the newly received (forwarded) message, it didn't hang either. This only seems to happen if it comes directly from Google+
Pictures are not set to download automatically. I have to right click and enable to download the pictures on the email in question.
A few other bits to note, this doesn't happen with all Google+ notifications. I have posted a test comment to my collegue who also has the same problems as me and when he receives an email notification of my Google+ comment in outlook, the application doesn't freeze. It only seems to happen with specific notifications from Google+. The ones where its been happening recently is from noreply-e72af457(at)plus(dot)google(dot)com and the subject line states "Get a custom URL for your Google+ page". It is a legit email from Google+ but I am not sure why it keeps making Outlook 2010 hang everytime the email is selected.
Any help please?
