I used to "officially" support Exchange up to Version 2003. I have a co-worker who was having a lot of mailbox problems, so I thought I would try to help him out. (P.S. I receive permission to do so :) So, I exported his mailbox to a .pst. I then deleted his mailbox, recreated a new mailbox, and imported his .pst. His Outlook 2007 is working great now! The only problem is that most of his appointments have COPY: in front of the name, and he cannot edit his old appointments or reply to any that were sent to him. New appointments work just fine.
I read that to fix this problem, I should be able to take the original .pst file, and move the appointments from this file to the calendar in the new mailbox. I tried to do this with a single appointment, but I received an error, "You cannot move one occurrence of an appointment series to a different folder. To move a recurring appointment, you must move the original appointment or copy the single occurence and move the copy." He has a lot of recurring appointments...
My question is: Is there anything I can do, if I have the original .pst file, to resolve the issue of his appointments being non-updatable, other than to delete and re-create the appointments? Also, he cannot delete the appointments. As an admin., I can delete them, but they are not deleted on the attendee or resource [conference room] calendars. He would need to document all of his appointments, attendees, conference rooms, etc.; I would then need to delete them from his calendar and the conference room calendars; and he would then need to recreate them--Yuk! Thanks for any help you can provide! It is greatly appreciated...
