I have two archive mailboxes on Exchange: one that is continuously added to, as new messages are being processed, and one that shrinks (ie an archive appliance connects to it and deletes messages as they are being ingested to its store). Both mailboxes have separate Journal rules configures, one for each. There are just a handful of messages that are corrupt in both mailboxes. When I open the archived message in Outlook (from the eml attachment), that works fine, but I cannot forward it anywhere (and the archiving appliance cannot ingest it). When I try to forward it or save it as msg file, I get the following message: "The message store has reached its maximum size. To reduce the amount of data in this message store, select some items that you no longer need, permanently (shift+del) delete them." When I try to open the message in OWA (from attachment) I get the following error: "The body of this item couldn't be read. The body may be incorrectly formatted or may have become corrupted." I can however forward it from OWA. When I look at the .eml file on external ISP I can see that the affected messages appear to have a lot larger file, than other messages, not sure if this is related. I have the following questions:
1. Anything I can do to fix this message corruption?
2. What is causing this?
I verified that the message stores are not out of space, and other messages in both mailboxes open OK.
