Outlook 2007 can’t view shared calendars when they are not given the Reviewer privilege

I've seen several topics and discussions about issue that Outlook 2007 can’t view shared calendars when they are not given the Reviewer privilege. Is there any "official statement" (like KB article) from Microsoft about this?

We have Exchange 2010 and several hundres Outlook 2007 clients. Users wants to be able to open other user's calendar, but they only want to see subject/location information.

Currently there is a group containing all the users and this group has permissions for free/busy, subject and location. With OWA it works OK, but with Outlook 2007 you can only see this info with Schedulling Assistant.
