When I create a Search Folder in Outlook using a profile that is NOT in Cached Exchange Mode, any/all Search Folders I create do not show when I close and re-open Outlook.
I am running an Office365/Exchange 2013 backend environment and have tested the Search Folder feature using Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2013 clients. I have tested from systems running Windows XP and Windows 7, as well as within a Terminal Server running Windows Server 2008 Enterprise. In all of these instances, the Search Folders do not show when I close and re-open Outlook.
I have also verified that when I change the profiles to use Cached Exchange Mode for both Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2013 clients, the Search Folders I establish still show after I close and re-open Outlook.
I know the ideal answer is to turn on Cached Exchange Mode, but for profiles within a Terminal Services environment, this is not optimum as there are over 100 different client profiles and limited hard drive space. I have read other posts stating that a "Finder" folder cannot sync with an Exchange mailbox when out of Cached Exchange Mode. Is this just by default? Is there a setting, either client or server-side, that can be configured so the folder will sync with the Exchange mailbox even out of Cached Exchange Mode?
