I have a client that is getting this message when she tries to tag items in the faxes public folder. I am guessing that she might get the same issue with any public folder.
If she tries to select an item and then either open it and categorize it, or right click and immediately categorize it, she gets an email message stating that: 'Multiple edits have been made to "Fax from ". The conflicting edits have been attached to a conflict message in "Faxes".' and the item is set in a conflict status. She then has to clear the status, by opening it, and saying keep all, and then she can categorize it. Oddly, it is saying it has been edited multiple times, and it is by her at the exact same time.
We found a work around to solve this, but it is a lot more steps then she wants to do (or has had to do). If she opens the message, and then closes it, then selects another message and then right clicks on the previous message and categorizes it, it works.
I have been able to duplicate this on my system at the office.
They are running Windows 7 workstation, Exchange 2007, and Outlook 2010. Oddly, she never had this problem until her workstation was replaced with the windows 7 box. She used to run Windows xp, with Outlook 2007.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Wayne Shepherd
