Exchange 2013 / Outlook 2007 - How to send a task request originating from a shared mailbox

Hello.

I'm trying to accomplish what seems like a straightforward process, but can't seem to find a way to do it.  I have created a shared mailbox named "NOC" in Exchange 2013, and I've given Jane and Sue Full Access to that mailbox, both via ECP and through the management shell.  Jane and Sue can both see the "NOC" mailbox and it's associated folder in their folder tree in Outlook 2007, and they can view the contents of the folders within the "NOC" mailbox.  I have not added the "NOC" mailbox to Jane and Sue's individual Outlook profiles (in the Advanced Tab of the Microsoft Exchange Email Account settings), because the "NOC" mailbox already shows up in Outlook 2007.

Prior to using Exchange, with our former Sendmail system, when creating a new email message, they would click on the "Account" drop-down, and select the mailbox they wanted to send from.  But with Exchange, the Account drop-down only shows their primary Exchange mailbox, and not the other shared mailboxes that they have access to.  So I'm unclear as to how they would send even a regular message from the "NOC" mailbox.

If I select the "Show From" option, that appears to give me the ability to send from ANY mailbox on our Exchange server, which seems a little crazy, as it would allow anyone in the organization to send messages as anyone else.  I'd like to hear any feedback anyone has on this.

The above thoughts notwithstanding, when either Jane or Sue go to send out a new task request, on behalf of the "NOC" mailbox, they don't have the ability to select a From address.

Can anyone advise on how to accomplish this, or suggest where I might have missed a step?  Thanks in advance for any suggestions and assistance you might have.

Mitchell
