Dear Sir

Below are the steps taken to set up the email but failed.

log in to outlook web mail

go to control panel>mail

click "New Account"

The following was keyed

Your Name: JERYLLEOMINGZHE.13@ichat.sp.edu.sg

e-mail address: JERYLLEOMINGZHE.13@ichat.sp.edu.sg

password

retype password

checked "manual setup or additional server types

Click next

checked Microsoft Exchange or compatible service

click next

The following was keyed

Server: hkxprd0610.outlook.com

checked use cached exchange mode

user name:JERYLLEOMINGZHE.13@ichat.sp.edu.sg

Click check name and get the error "the action cannot be completed. The connection to Microsoft exchange is unavailable. outlook must be online or connected to complete this action.

I tried different server by keying in the following and hit the same error

Server:hkxprd0610.mailbox.outlook.com

I tried another server name by keying in the following and hit the same error

Server:pod51024.outlook.com

I click "more setting" and set the following

General Tab:

JERYLLEOMINGZHE.13@ichat.sp.edu.sg

manually control connection state checked

connect with the network checked

Advance Tab:

Use Cached Exchange mode was checked

Download shared folders was checked

Security Tab:

Encrypt data .... was checked

Negotiate Authentication was selected

connection tab

connect using my LAN checked

checked connect to Microsoft exchange using http

Exchange Proxy Setting

https://hkxprd0610.outlook.com

connect using SSL only checked

Only connect to proxy servers that have the principal name in their certificate checked

msstd:outlook.com

on fast networks... checked

on slow networks... checked

basic authentication was selected

click ok

I click check name for 3 different servers still hit the same error.

Server 1 tried :hkxprd0610.outlook.com

Server 2 tried:hkxprd0610.mailbox.outlook.com

Server 3 tried:pod51024.outlook.com

I am able to configure using POP/SMTP set up. The only draw back is that I am not able to use the calendar and task features as it does not sync to outlook web mail.

I also able to configure on S3 Lite HP using Exchange Active Sync.

But not able to configure outlook with exchange mail setting.
