I have been tasked to find out which comes first when dealing with Exchange 2007 CAS request.
Here is the enviroment:
Exchange 2007 SP3
CAS server with Outlook Anywhere enabled
All Windows 2008 servers (including DC's)
My Scenerio:
User has all mail features or protocals disabled. (i.e. OWA, Activsync, MAPI, IMAP, etc)
My Questions:
Does Exchange first stop the client from connecting because all protocals are disabled?
Or
Does the client user account get authenticated by the DC, then Exchange stops the client from connecting because all protocals are disabled?
(Clients being users on a laptop, activesync device, or OWA browser request)
Follow up Question:
Is there any diagram or Technet artciale that details this out. Basically is this in writting?
