I set up a testing environment at home(all 2012 servers). I have Exchange 2013 up and running with a valid SSL cert. I tested OWA, Outlook 2011 (Mac version) and the iPhone internally and externally, no problem. The only thing that did not work is the Outlook 2013 on Windows 7.
I run the www.testexchangeconnectivity.com test and I got one warning and one error.
The warning is: "ExRCA can only validate the certificate chain using the Root Certificate Update functionality from Windows Update. Your certificate may not be trusted on Windows if the "Update Root Certificates" feature isn't enabled."
The error is:"RPC Proxy can't be pinged.A Web exception occurred because an HTTP 404 - NotFound response was received from Unknown."
My DNS(AD) server has two entries: xxx.local and xxx.org.
My Exchange 2013 has local host name ex.xxx.local and I have mail.xxx.org externally pointed to it. The SSL is assigned to mail.xxx.org only.
I don't understand why it works on the Mac Outlook 2011 but not on the Windows Outlook 2013.
Any suggestion on how to start my troubleshooting? Thanks much!
