Hi All,

we have 10 CAS servers in the environment and we observer huge hits from the Active sync devices on regular basis.

Active sync reports were generated every 24 hours once and we observed 10+ users are constantly generate more than 10,000 hits and they use different devices like andriod , iphone and BB 10.

But most seems to be from driod devices

there are more than 350 users who generate 1000+ hits every day and as per MS who ever generate more than 1000 hits is considered as heavy user.

all the reports are generated using Log parser from the IIS logs.

Things so far verified.

1- items counts on the primary folders (Inbox, Calendar, Contacts, Sent Items, Drafts ) are below 100,000 items

2- mailbox quota below warning limits ( 4 GB )

3- we contacted few of the above 10= users and advices to set sync only 3 days of items in the handheld

4- All the protocol types are enabled for the users.

we have the service / rollup updates pacthed up to date on all the exchange servers.

AdminDisplayVersion : Version 14.2 (Build 247.5)
ExchangeVersion     : 0.1 (8.0.535.0)

Default throttling policy for Active sync is as follows.

EASMaxConcurrency           : 10

EASPercentTimeInAD          :
EASPercentTimeInCAS         :
EASPercentTimeInMailboxRPC  :
EASMaxDevices               : 10
EASMaxDeviceDeletesPerMonth :

i would like to hear some suggestion on how we can control / throttle the hits per user so that we can save the CAS server from being hammered.

Thanks in advance.
