Microsoft Outlook 2010 - When a new message is composed and a user saves that message as a .msg the message is saved to the Outbox rather than drafts in Cached Exchange Mode

Here is the scenario:

  1. Microsoft Office Outlook 2010 Professional with SP1
  2. The account is a Microsoft Exchange Server account
  3. Cached Exchange mode is turned on
  4. A user creates a new e-mail
  5. The user then saves the e-mail to any storage location as a .msg file
  6. The user closes the message and clicks OK or CANCEL to close the prompt
  7. The message is saved to the user's Outbox regardless of the Save Drafts To settings in Options

This has caused us a serious problem where a user has been doing this to organise his drafts separately.  It seems an odd way of working but nevertheless Outlook should NOT be saving to the Outbox when it should be saving to the Drafts folder (or not at all if the user has clicked Cancel).

Help would be appreciated.
