OWA setup problems with LG tablet - how to get the full version of OWA and not lite?

$

I've just bought an LG G Pad and want to access my Outlook email and calender on it. I've gone through the setup and have  the lite version of the OWA running and cannot find any way of switching to the full version. The Google browswer is up to date, and I've tried checking and unchecking the OWA version that should switch between lite and full version numerous times. No luck!

It surely can't be that the screen size (8.3 inches) is an issue, can it?

Any solutions really appreciated - I'm out of ideas!

Thanks!

Over active junk filter

I am one of three users (small family business) using Outlook 2013 with Exchange 2013 managed by 1&1.  Since upgrading to Office 2013 all three of us have continual problems with messages from each other almost always going to the Junk folder.  I have tried to create a rule to prevent (do not block e-mails from this sender), and it says I cannot create the rule because the e-mail is within the same organization as my own... So why doesn't that rule also preclude it from going straight to junk?  It seems like e-mails coming from the same server and account should never go to junk.

Is there any work around for this?  It has affected all three of us.  There does not seem to be any logic behind when it goes to junk and when it goes to the inbox.. i.e. it's not all FWD that go to junk etc.  But probably about 50% of total e-mails within the organization go to junk.  Any thoughts?

The problem persists on OWA, and desktop versions, both Win 7 and Win 8.1, so it seems like probably a server problem.

Accessing Shared Resources Problems

Whenever I try to access a Shared Resource in Outlook (2010 or 2012) I get an error message.  I was hoping this would have been solved with the installation of Exchange 2013 sp1 but it has not.

I have since however noticed this event on my Client following the error message about the resource cannot be displayed:

Outlook Event ID - 19

Rpc call (EcDoConnectEx) on transport (ncacn_http) to server (9d0f607-16f7-408c-bf4a-0d6611d446be@mydomain.com failed with error code (6ba) after waiting (47) ms; eeInfo (Block (0), Error = 6ba, Version = 1, GeneratingComponent = 2, DetectionLocation = 6ae, Flags = 0, Params = 1, [Param (0) Type = eeptLongVal, Value = 0], Block (1), Error = 6ba, Version = 1, GeneratingComponent = e, DetectionLocation = 576, Flags = 0, Params = 2, [Param (0) Type = eeptLongVal, Value = 4], [Param (1) Type = eeptLongVal, Value = 6ba], Block (2), Error = 6ba, Version = 1, GeneratingComponent = d, DetectionLocation = 58e, Flags = 0, Params = 1, [Param (0) Type = eeptLongVal, Value = 194], Block (3), Error = 194, Version = 1, GeneratingComponent = d, DetectionLocation = 589, Flags = 0, Params = 1, [Param (0) Type = eeptUnicodeString, Value = Not Found], Block (4), Error = e, Version = 1, GeneratingComponent = d, DetectionLocation = bb9, Flags = 0, Params = 1, [Param (0) Type = eeptLongVal, Value = 2f94]).

The Server name is not the actual name of the server and this strange name has appeared since we upgraded to Exchange 2013 from 2007.

Can anybody shed any light?

(Exchange 2013) exchange server Service 'MSExchangeTransport' failed to reach status 'Running'

Hi all,

Getting the above error when I'm doing a recovery install of exchange.

I had a read here: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/exchange/en-US/5368ec2e-98ac-4186-aa43-514c32cb7542/exchange-2010-msexchangetransport-failed-to-reach-status-running?forum=exchangesvrsecuremessaginglegacy

And found the following:

IPv6 is enabled - tested working on my network so no issues there.

I disabled IPv6 as per the kb on it (via registry edit) but no difference in result there

made sure to put the right security groups into the admin group as per that technet link.

Any ideas on where to go next here?

Tried starting the service manually but no luck.

access a public (calendar) folder in owa (exchange 2013 sp1/cu4)

i have a public folder "gemeinsamer kalender" (the type is calender).
outlook users can access this folder without problems.

now i try to access this folder via owa:

rightclick "other calendar" -> open calendar -> From directory: when i put the first three characters "gem" in then "gemeinsamer kalender" is suggested, so i can choose it with "open".

when i click on the "gemeinsamer kalender" in the left sidebar i get the error message "couldnt open calendar".

the user i´m logged in has owner-rights (although to the parent folder).

what i am doing wrong? or is this a limitation, but then i should not be able to select this public calendar?

sincerely,
sascha

Mismatched Address. Certificate issues

I have a strange issue I am hoping someone can help me solve.

Basically I run SBS2011 (Exchange 2010). I have a self signed certificate that works fine for all existing clients and myself. (using OWA or http over RPC). My Outlook client connects with no problem at all, I use it daily as do some of the consultants that work for us.

I have tried connecting new user up via Outlook over RPC, or a existing user on a new PC (off site) and I get the mismatched Address error. It seems to be the same certificate used as the PC's that are working.

I also get some strange results from the test connectivity.

It is failing on the Certificate, Certificate trust is being validated, Attempting each method of contacting the Autodiscover service

Any help will be appreciated, one of the messages is below, don't understand how a few work and some don't??

Certificate trust is being validated.

Inbox Doesn't Show New Mail Until I Click Out of Inbox and Click Back In

Hello, I originally posted this in the Microsoft Community, but I was told to post here instead. HELP!!! Nobody I know seems to have an answer for this.

I have Outlook 2010 connected to Exchange (work email). Whenever I get new mail, I have to click out of the Inbox and then click back in, in order to see and open my new mail. I do receive the pop-up notification in the lower right hand corner, and I receive the "(1)" notification next to "Inbox" on the left side menu (that's how I know when I have new mail), but no actual email shows in the Reading/Window Pane. It's like I have to refresh my Inbox.

The problem does not exist with any of my Inbox subfolders - only the Inbox itself.

When I had my department help desk remote in, the problem ceased (making me sound crazy), but when the technician logged off remote access, boom, the problem was back.

I've searched the internet, contacted my help desk multiple times, and deleted and re-created my Outlook profile, but nothing has worked so far.

Any insight into this issue would be greatly appreciated, as this problem is a pain!

Office365 - OST download size and managing it.

We have 400 users and we are using Microsoft Office365 Enterprise (E3).  The mailbox size of few users more than 25GB (Just 3 months data).

If the user moves from one computer to other, the entire mailbox will be downloaded via internet. This consumes high bandwidth. In case more than 3-4 users shift per day, all other users experience slow internet access.

I have read the performance blog:

http://blogs.technet.com/b/askperf/archive/2007/01/21/network-stored-pst-files-don-t-do-it.aspx

So, will not be trying to re-direct OST/PST files to network location.

Requesting some experts advise to overcome this problem.

Thanks.

Error when other people send me a meeting request

Dear Microsoft,

When other people send me a meeting request, they get the error you can see below (it says: "Your message can not be delivered to the following people or distribution lists"). The strange thing is that I receive as well the meeting request and I can accept it. However, it is confusing for the people who send me the request, so can you help me to fix te problem?

I use Outlook 2010, but I had also this problem with an older version. I have not had this problem always. The problem started when I authorized a colleague to look in my calendar (but, if I cancel the authorization it doesn't help, so I really don't understand what is going wrong!).

I really hope you know a solution of this problem.

Kind regards,

Dineke Wolbink

Be carefull what you wish for.. Outlook 2013 access to hotmail via activesync.. for me it's worse than the horrible connector with outlook 2010!

Is anyone else having horrible experience accessing Hotmail using outlook 2013 via activesync? I couldn't wait for this setup per my experience in using the Hotmail outlook connector for Outlook 2010, but I actually think it's worse.  This is on a freshly imaged machine on Windows 8.  Using web based email is perfect, using my iPhone perfect.. using outlook just plain sucks... disconnects frequently, things stuck in outbox just a slew of issues.  Unreal..

OWA2013 and foreign Connector

Hello,

New issue with OWA2013/Exchange2013

With Exchange 2010 we use to declare a foreign-connector using a non-smtp address TESTFAX:

With Outlook and OWA 2010 it was possible to send email to the foreign connecotr using the following syntax:

[TESTFAX:acustomstring]

With Exchange 2013, the syntax [TESTFAX:acustomstring] is working fine with Outlook but not with OWA2013. It is blocked by the GUI that keeps saying the address is invalid.

Do you know if there is a new syntax in Exchange 2013 or OWA 2013.

Thanks

Outlook RT not connecting to Exchange

Outlook RT will not connect to our Exchange Server.  The W8 Mail app connects with no problem and have been using since the start.  It cannot resolve the username and will not connect even though it asks for and accepts my Exchange password.  I contacted Surface tech support and they were absolutely clueless.  No help at all.   Is there anything special that needs to be done on the MS Exchange side for Outlook for RT.  We connect with iDevices and W8 Phones using Activesync with no issues.  I realize this is a "Preview" release but you would think the tech support would at least propose some reasonable fix suggestions.  The support person seemed to be looking on blogs for help while I sat on the phone...dissapointing.

Exchange 2013 - outlook cannot log on. verify you are connected to the network and are using the proper server and mailbox name - Outlook 2010

Hi all,

I have an Exchange 2013 server set up with about 25 users, one user is having issues opening outlook 2010 and gets the following error:

Outlook cannot log on. Verify you are connected to the network and are using the proper server and mailbox name. The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action.

This started when the user got locked out of their account and I had to reset their password.

I have removed the credentials from the credentials manager and that didn't help. I have also changed Cached mode to try it on and off.

The user can login using the OWA and I have run a test https://testconnectivity.microsoft.com and everything is working fine.

I've searched for quite some time and haven't found any other options. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Unable to add Exchange account after upgrading Outlook 2003 to Outlook 2010

Hello,

We have a number of users that we have upgraded Outlook from 2003 to Outlook 2010.

I am now trying to add an exchange account to these machines, but it doesn't work.

The exchange setup is correct, as we have some machines that came with Outlook 2010/2013 out of the box, and the exchange accounts work fine on them.

The first error that appears when adding the account is:

I have tried removing Outlook 2010, and then uninstalling Outlook 2003, reboot and re-install 2010. Same error.

I have tried setting up a new profile for the user, same error.

Our Exchange host pointed me to this  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2264398 which initially looked quite promising, as it describes the issue I am seeing. However, after carrying out the fix, I get the same error.

I checked in event viewer, and these issues seem to be relevant to the issue:

Silent Cross Site Redirection

Hi,

Recently deployed an Exchange 2013 SP1 server into our existing 2010 SP3 organisation.

I've set the Silent redirect option on both CAS servers

Set-OWAVirtualDirectory -Identity "CAS2010\owa (Default Web Site)" -CrossSiteRedirectType Silent

Set-OWAVirtualDirectory -Identity "CAS2013\owa (Default Web Site)" -CrossSiteRedirectType Silent

Problem is that the silent redirect doesn't work if you go to CAS2010 URL and login you get the Redirection splash page where you have to click the link to the CAS2013 URL and login again.

If you go to the CAS2013 URL and login to a mailbox that resides on the 2010 box it silently redirects you.

I have the same authentication settings on both Virtual Directories

Any ideas?

OWA - Message Mangling in Chrome

$

Hi All

A bit of a strange one that's only cropped up since installing SP1

If I compose an email in OWA in Chrome and use tab to move from the subject line to the main text, when the recipient receives the email there is a"?" before the main text - the recipient can be using a mail client or a browser to view the email.

I have seen the "?" appearing in the Windows 8.1 Mail client and GMail so far (but the same email will not show the "?" in OWA).

All I can guess is that somehow the tab character is getting inserted.  Chrome is up-to-date and it doesn't occur when the message is composed in IE or Firefox.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Cheers

Andy

Lync 2013 integrated in Owa 2013 - Lync contacts are not shown?!

Hi,

We have just integrated Lync 2013 server to our exchange 2013 and its OWA.

The problem we are experiencing is that the users cannot see their lync contacts in OWA. The contact folder "Lync contacts" does not appear.

All other features are working properly just as they are supposed to but i cannot for my life find why the list isnt shown.

Does anyone have some input or ideas for me?

Thanks!

Address Book - how does it work?

$

Hi

I am looking for some "in deapth" about how the Address Book in Outlook works.

I have a customer, 6000 users - 100 locations. 1 site. All connects to the same 2 CAS servers. Everything works fine, except for one location - when they open the adressbook  - Outlook hangs (random).

I want to know what happends behind the scene?

My theory:

If they open up in "Global Address List" which is the only one in the OAB - then the lookup is local?
They all open up an Address List not included in the OAB - then the lookup must be online?

There must be some AD queries? Global Catalog?

If someone can link to some more info about the technique behind I would be glad - or if someone has a clue why the users has these lock ups when opening the address book.
